Hammond looked as if he has benefited from a good pre season. lots of energy and combined well with cork. i reckon it was a tough decision on who to play in centre midfield but i suspect Leeds dirty tactics was a big factor. Morgan may of reacted badly to some of the tackles yesterday. thought chaplow looked good when he came on.

Well at some point they will need to learn to only spend what they earn and not rely on finincial gifts.

I agree we do start seasons pretty slowly but that's not neccessarily due to influx of new players from July. I believe slow start last season ws due to fact pre season training went badly wrong. In any case my argument was based on fact we don't need to bring in lots of new players, our current squad would be able to hold their own in this division but with addition of perhaps 2 players we will take next step and challenge for promotion first tiime round.

I reckon club will wait until July kicks in before confirming any signings. By then we will have good idea of the market i.e who's available and how much. I sem to remember Pardew revealing this approach during 2010 January transfer window. That's not to say they have not done a lot of ground work already. Like in poker you don't show your hand early. I find it quite refreshing that we are seemingly taking this approach whilst other clubs are busy bringing in lots of new players at inflated prices.

I'd prefer to have the points on table rather than game in hand. If we lose tomorrow then I think 4 wins would be needed from remaining 4 games. However a win tomorrow would be absolutely massive as not only would it mean we go back into 2nd place but also means Brighton will need to get positive result in all 3 remaining games including Huddersfield at home in order to get to 100 points mark. You have to expect Huddersfield to win both of their home games so if Brighton have something to play for against Huddersfield then it could turn out to be important factor.

By doing a guard of honour for them it would give them more of a sense of superiority over us which would filter into the game itself. You should respect your opponents but not over do it especially not just before kick off !

I also sat in kingsland today but would have to disagree with you. He had solid first half then very good 2nd half . Seaborne's intro allowed both full backs to push forward more

Dickson was solid in first half without getting forward to often but that was addressed at half time and 2nd half he provided good attacking support down left. Was impressed with seaborne especially his passing. Con was class above and his introduction gave us the much needed impetus to win game.

I think Forte deserves to start based on recent performances but then again he does seem to have positive impact when coming off the bench. We don't really have anyone else else who is can make an impact from the bench attacking wise. NA will probably go with Guly in free role again but I'd prefer to see Lallana given that role and have Hammond, Stephens and Chaplow as midfield 3. Anyone know the latest with Ox's injury ? He been out for over 3 weeks now and not really heard anything other than Saints had shut him down for few days ! Anyone

To be fair to Hammond he was having to hold the midfield together whilst Guly and Chaplow were on pitch. He looked knackered at the end !

Firstly great win and great atomsphere. In regards to the game itself we were pretty poor until Forte came on. First half was similar to sheff wed game with everything too central and over complicating passes. Relied on Harding to give us width but his crosses were not great. Once we got first goal back we were a different team with Lallana much more effective. Hammond had another good game and made up for another poor Chaplow performance. Hammond Lallana and Barnard worked so hard today you can see how much it meant to them. A few notes for NA: We have a good team with some exceptional players so no need to over complicate tactics especially in this league. Guly and Chaplow should not be in starting 11 based on current performances.

I actually think Adkins comments were meant as a motivation for his own team. Reminds me of the famous motivation quote 'Aim for the stars and maybe you'll reach the sky' i.e aim to win league but be content with 2nd place. Brighton's tactics and style meant they had this league all but wrapped up sometime ago and Adkins would of known this deep down.
