Yeah, he's always been unable to understand what I'm saying - I assume he does it on purpose and thinks it makes him seem clever. It doesn't. He's trying to copy CB Fry's posting style, but he's just not very good at it. The plan is not to get relegated. The plan is to make sure relegation is not a financial disaster like last time and minimising the players we have to sell, whilst (in their minds anyway) giving us enough players to have a stab at staying up. It's a risk spreading strategy which is really quite sensible considering we were favourites for relegation and we had to spend £50m this Summer just to have as good a team as we had in the Championship last season.
-
But we needed to pick up players for next season in the Championship with the pull of the PL. We probably wouldn't have signed those players had we waited for next season to sign them as they wouldn't have been interested. It doesn't surprise me that Weston is misunderstanding it, I've tried to explain it many, MANY times but he is either willfully ignorant or thick as shit, as well as being an despicable cretin of a human being. I think it's a mixture of all 3 tbh.

Yeah, I don't think anyone foresaw it being this bad. I thought we were favourites for relegation, and with less points than last time due to a far worse team, but yeah, it's been rubbish. But where the strategy seems to be that we covered our bases financially to mean relegation doesn't matter, I guess we'll just have to suffer longer.

No dick swinging. Just asking you to name the posters, that's all. Very simple ask, you could have named them in any of the 4 or 5 replies where you've said you won't. You're either scared or you can't, and I don't know which it is.

Lol, brilliant. Seems you're as good at backing yourself up as @CB Fry is.

Apart from Gio, I don't really know who you're talking about, and I certainly don't think anyone thinks he does no wrong, but as you raised it, it would be useful to know if you can share please?
-
Absolutely, but apart from Gio, who are you actually making these points to? I don't think anyone has said he is close to walking on water, in fact even Gio has been quite critical at times (but he is also quite clearly on a bit of a windup), so I'm interested to know who is part of this group. Let me put this forward for instance: - I think we need a new Manager this season if we want any chance of staying up (and even then he would need to be outstanding to do that). - I don't think he should be replaced with just anyone - we saw how that worked out last year with Selles and I don't trust the board to pick another Manager. - If we got relegated, although he would have been pretty much wholly complicit in that (along with whoever bought our Championship level players), he has proved that he can take a severely damaged and transfer ravaged team up to the PL, so we could probably do a lot worse. I know people from the beginning have hated him, and we are now at a point where the list of hates are: - His face - His hair - His beard - The fact he's vegan - His smugness - His arrogance - His ego - The fact the he is dating an ex-glamour model - Photos being taken of him on holiday and subsequently put on Instagram (not by him, mind) - His clothes - His demeanor on the touchline - His press conferences being too honest, or not honest enough, taking blame, or giving blame to the players, blaming the ref, and not blaming the ref, him getting annoyed with press questions, or not getting annoyed with press questions - His laughing with his players - His hugging and congratulating of his players - The fact his players seem to like him - His charity work (outside of his charitable foundation) - His charitable foundation (have I missed anything?) Whereas in actual fact what people should really hate is: - His tactics - His team selections

Don't disagree at all with that. They're gash and should never have been given new contracts (maybe Bednarek to at least give him some resale value).
-
Yeah, that's when we really started hearing the gnashing of teeth...that's gnashing, not noshing.
-
I'm not sure people are necessarily advocating for him to still be here next season, but it's more that with him in place next season will we be one of the favourites to go up? Yeah, of course we will, as long as sales aren't too extreme (which they shouldn't be).
-
I don't think we'd get Ferguson tbh, feels too good a player for us - we're not allowed nice things.
-
Who's actually saying he's not out of his depth in the PL? Gio maybe?
-
No, and I've never said that. We need a new Manager, full stop. However, not everything is on him, and those same players will still make boneheaded decisions and stupid mistakes - like goals 2 & 3 against Liverpool.
-
I agree with you. I wonder if you'll get the same treatment as me to dare to say so though!
-
Yeah, it may do, but as we know from previous seasons (before Martin) McCarthy, Bednarek and Stephens have always been very mistake prone players.
-
If he was going to go, as you say, I think he'd have gone. It's all about the reason why we are fiddling as Rome burns.
-
Just for you Trousers. I thought you'd appreciate it!
-
As you, yet again, can't back your accusations up, I think we'll have to leave this. Becoming a common theme with you CB.
-
Answer mine first - that's the deal. Backup your gaslighting and I'll tell you why I think my theories are correct. It's very simple.
-
Yeah, didn't think so.
-
Go find my posts, we'll discuss it. If you're going to accuse me of stuff you need to be able to back it up, so back yourself.
-
You go find my posts first, then we'll talk.

When I said "you", it was a royal "you", it was not specifically aimed at yourself. In relation to the rest of it, I never said it was an unhappy accident - I just said I don't think it was in the best interests of the club to build a strong core of a team to stay in the PL. When you take into account the ridiculous overspend in 2022 on transfers and wages it meant this year was year 3 of the cycle. It also means if we got promoted the following season then we'd have had huge amounts to spend as year 1 was very large transfers out, and in theory year 3 was our first season back in the PL. We'd have been able to spend whatever we needed to. We'd have also had the chance to build a stronger core. It's what teams like Brentford had pre-PSR being actually properly regulated and has changed little since promotion. Anyway, it's just my theory, and I'm yet to see anything that contradicts that - I mean look at how we're doing this season?
-
Prove it then. It wasn't. It was one post, which someone replied to saying £100k is a lot, and I replied saying, "yeah, probably is a bit over-egged on the wage side". You then have continued to bullshit and blister on my every post trying to gaslight everyone that you're correct. It seems to be your modus operandi as the forum bully, or enforcer, it whatever you like to call yourself, but if you can prove it I'm happy to apologise. If you can't though, I'd like you to apologise to me. Does that sound reasonable? I prefer to be pragmatic about situations like this, life is too short to spend life angry at other people you don't know. "What are these things that you have been going on about for "18 months" have you been proven correct about? Tell us." Where have I said I have been proven correct - in my post you seem to have got so hysterical about I said that it seems to have come true so far - two very different eventualities. One means we have realised everything above, it has happened and it has been documented by people that can confirm it was true, and one is that we can recognise that it looks like those things are happening...to me I don't see anything about our transfer strategy or wage strategy, the keeping of a Manager who is clearly Championship quality and the lack of internal panic at our impending doom. We enquired after the Leicester game for both Moyes and Potter, and I know that as a fact (and I have revealed my source previously on this). Apparently we have not looked since.
