So I've seen Fabrice29 and Lighthouse, but they seem to be very level-headed in their criticism rather than a fully-fledged fanatic. I'm not sure anyone reckons SR are doing a good job. Tbh, there has been a lot of exaggeration and misrepresentation of people's opinions (including my own) from some very vocal and very forceful members of the forum. I think this has resulted in it looking like there are more controversial opinions and posters on this site than there actually are. The vast, vast, majority of posters think SR are doing a shit job and RM is doing a shit job and yet the majority of posts is people talking about the members that don't and then (as with Lee on Solent the other day) not being able to name them or give good examples of what was said. The forum has become an echo chamber of lies. This is how Brexit happened.

Well, yes, but before he joined Swansea he was bang average in the Championship and then decent in League 1 for Ipswich. Swansea then paid £1.5m for him and a great season under Martin then got him picked up by West Ham for £12m. He then didn't do anything at West Ham and came to us on loan. It is my opinion, but it would be odd if anyone said anything different tbh because I don't think he's really looked good for anyone else, outside of L1.

He's only ever looked good under Martin TBF - he is a system player and fits into Martin's system perfectly. It's why he got his move to Wet Spam, it just turns out he's just not a PL player.

Downes is not a PL player in my opinion.

Yeah, he's always been unable to understand what I'm saying - I assume he does it on purpose and thinks it makes him seem clever. It doesn't. He's trying to copy CB Fry's posting style, but he's just not very good at it. The plan is not to get relegated. The plan is to make sure relegation is not a financial disaster like last time and minimising the players we have to sell, whilst (in their minds anyway) giving us enough players to have a stab at staying up. It's a risk spreading strategy which is really quite sensible considering we were favourites for relegation and we had to spend £50m this Summer just to have as good a team as we had in the Championship last season.
