Under the way VAR is currently set up, he's right. It did it's job, but the ref is a fucktard and made the wrong decision. Again. In instances like that, which are blatantly obvious to 99.999% of people, they should just overturn the decision. There are 3 qualified people in the VAR room to make that decision. There's no need for the palava of making the ref awkwardly run to look at the screen.

Sweetening the deal having taken AFCON away from them? Probably not linked in any way, bit well, football and corruption isn't exactly unheard of.

Oh not given. WTF.
-
Why did that take so long. It was the most obvious penalty I've ever seen.

Pitch seems pretty poor quality for a World Cup. Also not convinced it's been mown to strict Fifa standards with the lines. Stonewall penalty.

I always assumed @Turkish was a bloke. Can't argue with the sentiment though, I suppose.

It's literally bugger all to do with the BBC.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Wait, you're telling me a random bar chart taken from Twitter with zero context isn't irrefutable evidence? -
No. They were called Turkey for about 54 years of your life. They changed their name in 2022. It's nothing to do with the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-61671913

Better than Lee Dixon at least. Yes, Cape Verde put up a plucky performance, but Dixon saying Spain don't deserve a point is just weird.

Bit crude, Sue.

The Independent, but reported multiple other outlets too. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/japan-netherlands-world-cup-dallas-stadium-clean-rubbish-b2995575.html

Sweepstake on the first news outlet to report that Japanese fans cleared up after themselves after the game?

He'll be Cross with the one he conceded.

There's two more on the bench, if you're lucky. Look forward to the top gag later.

Bollocks, Van Bike has just scored.
-
Japan are parking the bike (not bus.....LOL!) to ensure they get a clean sheet today.

According to Google "On US television, the average commercial break lasts about two to three minutes". That's a nice coincidence.
-
Luckily there was a hydration break to take on a cuppa tea.
-
Exactly. Lichtenstein or Andorra generally don't qualify.
-
Yes, beating footballing giants like Aruba, Barbados and St Lucia along the way. They almost certainly wouldn't have qualified in the 32 team format, which was broadly my point. Despite the Curacao goal, this was clearly never more than a training game for Germany. As I say, happy for the Curacao fans etc, but it doesn't exactly make for an exciting game.
-
This just seems a bit unfair on Curacao. Nice as the story is, match ups like this make a mockery of the World Cup.
-
You're odd sometimes.

Didn't he basically pioneer football club documentaries like Welcome to Wrexham, with our prime time slot at about 8am on Sunday Mornings on Sky Sports 3?
