  1. Why do people always associate lower points of others teams with poor quality. There are 20 teams in the PL every season. There are always 3 points for a win, and 1 point for a draw. Always the same points on offer across the season. If anything, lower points totals surely means that the league is more competitive and not dominated by a small number of teams that are streets ahead. [/MLG]
  2. Doesn't really annoy me as much as it mildly amuses me, but I keep seeing an advert for Walkers crisps with 2 pairs of footballers 'surprising' punters in 2 different pubs. Pub 1: Messi and Suarez - everyone turns around and is amazed/cannot believe it. Pub 2: Lauren James and Leah Williams (I think). Punters appear to have exactly the same reaction as those in Pub 1. Would expect pub 2 to be much more excited in reality.
  3. Never really got people's dislike for him. Good footballer in his day. Pretty articulate and intelligent (for a former footballer). Seems to stand up for what he feels is morally right. Is clearly well liked by people he works with. Yes, he's well paid and perhaps comes across a little smug at times (I probably would too in his shoes), but on balance I'd say he's definitely one of the top pundits on TV and a shame to lose from MoTD. His 'rat' post was very obviously just a silly mistake which clearly had zero intention of causing offence, and something he immediately retracted and fully (and genuinely) apologised for once he'd realised. Anyway, back to the little things that bring me joy. I slept through the night last night without having to get up and do a wee (until 6am at least). A small win in life these days.
  4. Would never happen. Mathematicians haven't invented numbers high enough yet.
  5. I was being nice, Mr Defensive. 😢
  6. You're a lovely guy MLG. Always assuming the best in people. 🥰
  7. Starting to think Saints aren't that good this season.
  8. What's all this 'North London Forever' stuff before Arsenal games these days? Is it new? Sure I'd never particularly heard it until a few months ago, and now commentators seem to have a little spunk every time it's sung. It's like a shit(ter) YNWA knock-off.
  9. Sorry to burst your bubble. https://www.worldlandtrust.org/news/2023/10/state-of-nature-report-2023/
  10. Just flicked on Sky Sports looking for the Spurs v Forest game and noticed there's something on the next channel called the 'Baller League'. I watched about 30 seconds of it...what is that nonsense all about and why on earth is it being televised on a 'serious' sports channel?
  11. Even the pope couldn't believe Saints got a point.
  12. Robbie Savage and Rio Ferdinand in commentary is unbearable.
  13. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Caleta-Car both on the pitch for Lyon now. Dream team.
  14. Just realised AMN is playing v Utd at the moment in a European quarter final. How was he so unbelievably shit for us? (And Lyon's 10 men have just taken the lead. Lol).
  15. Agreed, with the solid spine and having signed Archer, I'm confident in a good season.
  16. I was ecstatic when we won at Wembley, but can pretty much pin point when I knew we'd be doomed this season. Not sure why, but it's the second Russ stepped out on stage here. Something just screamed not professional enough/too pally for the Premier League...
  17. Reporting on shit internet trends in the name of journalism. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5yg690e9eno
  18. Let's hope so. Such a brilliant sponsor. In all seriousness, aren't gambling sponsors soon to be banned?
  19. Can't stand it. Has the potential to be a useful tool for networking etc. but is absolutely full of odious people (like all other social media) plus loads more brown-nosers. Discuss.
  20. Jammy f@#*ING gits! 🤬
  21. Seems like you were getting less confident the more you typed.
  22. To be honest, yes, re-reading your post that is pretty much exactly what you were suggesting.
  23. Anyone do the Southampton or Brighton marathons last weekend? Bit sweaty?
  24. This is the 4th relegation I've endured since becoming a Saints fan. The others all hurt. This one I don't really feel anything. Disappointment? Nope. Anger? Nope. Sadness? Nope. Just indifference. Maybe it's because we've known for months. Maybe it's because I'm older. Maybe I'm just a shit fan. Who cares.
