Saints 1-2 Arsenal - Thank F**k it’s All Over Thread
Gloucester Saint replied to Lighthouse's topic in The Saints
Fully agree and as others have added, it’s far from just this season, culmination of Semmens stating the the league table didn’t matter at a fans forum allied to Blackmore’s lucky to be in the PL (have a look at our history 1966-), Rasmus’s old garbage about breaking what wasn’t broken (although it was neglected under Gao), obsession about finding the next Tino or Lavia over actually building a team core and spine, Les Reed’s increasing cheapening of transfer fees and increased volume of them, and a diverse range of marketing gimmicks and slogans to disguise the decline from the Koeman high watermark and Puel’s League Cup Final. That environment isn’t going to recruit many winning player mentalities and the few it does find by fluke aren’t hanging around to wallow in staleness ignoring the club’s history. -
Wanted us to sign him from Spurs. A couple of the promoted clubs might be sniffing but the fact they’re all in the north might help.

I bet you’re looking forward to toying with him (he was the toy salesman, wasnt he?)

The i running the front page more of the newspapers should be, echoing the IFS warnings during the GE, you’d really hope the public would have learned from the red bus and the NHS https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c87j44rdjvzo

Lightning up the topic slightly, wonder if a customer who is also a football fan has shouted ‘Fuck VAR!’? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c20q5q92y2yo

Hints of Ryan Seagar, and his injury at Crewe, hopefully a better outcome for Ballard.

Out of those, Bednarek 100% going, £6m release fee clubs will all over that overseas. Bazanu loan out again, take a hit on the wages, AM is fine for #2, isn’t Lumley ooc? Bazanu #2 for final year of contract if he really develops on during loan spell. ABK will go as long as he passes medical, but will be low fee eg £5m or less. Beskitas interested apparently in Nathan Wood. Ramsdale £25m release fee pays for new #1 keeper easily. THB not quite PL ready. The lbs will be hardest to shift. Martin might offer Saints a nominal for Manning if Still thinks Taylor is better suited. Larios see Bazanu but not returning as not suited to English football physically as a defender. Wellington and Taylor more than sufficient. Sugawara off even if it isn’t Napoli. CM Downes could go to Ipswich but they will struggle to pay what Saints want. Martin in the picture too. Aribo Turkey, one year left and higher earner, fee £5-8m. Plenty of prior links. Lallana retiring. Smallbone probably loan out as he’s not a Still player physically, Charles is. Dibling and Fernandes are coveted and gone. Edozie might be a Still player I’ve a feeling. Fraser - who knows?! BBD get fit and see. Sulemana gone I reckon but big loss on what Rasmus paid. Onachu Turkey, Trabzonspor to finally agree fee.

Michael Keane available on a free.

And a poster I hadn’t noted before called Sparkkyy put a laughing emoji on that - made me smile 😀

Or if he misses a last minute sitter at Fratton, Heart Ache

Interesting, do share further if possible. Know about the history with Howe and him, but wasn’t aware of him being on strike. Although I didn’t read about a ruptured Achilles or an ACL either, which are the only injuries which could’ve kept him out that long without some return games in the u23s. If he has been on strike, stressing that with a huge if, and not even at Staplewood without the club’s permission, then that could be a straight termination of contract. On the other hand, it may be a very ill relative in Scotland and on the fringes of the squad with a void season it’s been compassionate leave with no need to make public knowledge.

It’d make a difficult handball shout. Sugawara would still find a way to concede a penalty though.

To be fair, what could they say? It’s rather different to what should have been a mid-table squad finishing 20th in 2005 on 32 points when Lowe apologised. 99.9% of us were expecting to be relegated but with 12 points, so many insipid displays and clearly very unfit players? Spors and Still are in the process of clearing out although it may not be as much as we’d like it to be as some of these losers for a playing squad are not going to be in very much demand elsewhere, barring the small pocket of high quality who actually look like professional footballers eg Ramsdale, Fernandes, KWP and Dibling.

So it has emerged that it seems he has tailgated an ambulance responding to a heart attack report in the crowd which is how the cordon was lifted. Serious questions about why his credentials weren’t seemingly checked, the organisers might have assumed due to the type of vehicle that he was with the ambulance but dangerous assumption to make… The cordon ought to have been put back in place the moment the ambulance passed through and his SUV stopped summarily and forcibly on the driver if necessary to bring the vehicle to a halt. Arrested for attempted murder, dangerous driving and under influence of drugs.

Onachu very likely judging by Beskitas ongoing interest, maybe not too much more than that top figure. Sulemana is hard to value, very quick but the data in terms of end-product is quite appalling. Big clubs in smaller leagues - Benfica, Ajax, Old Firm - might look at the level of instability around him and believe he could improve significantly with a team structure in which case £6-10m is possible. 2 years left on his contract as opposed to Onachu’s one year which may nudge the value up. If nothing else he could be an impact player to begin with.

Logically that would follow, but the circumstances might be a factor. For example were they to receive a 10-12 point deduction and/or MLG’s thought of a transfer embargo, that might make the play-offs a best case scenario, and with an embargo (don’t think the EFL would go there yet btw) a non-starter, hence working with more talented younger players offering more room to build the philosophy back up without the season one pressure of going for title/autos.

Let’s hope CEX isn’t on the beach this summer.

Won’t be very long list as most of the contracts expire either next year or 2027.
-
Your last sentence is a big missing piece of the jigsaw. I’d be surprised if the roads around the parade weren’t closed bar the team bus and emergency services, so I’m trying to get my around why the vehicle is even there.
-
Nobody else bar Brum or Ipswich could match what he’s on anyway even with the relegation cut. Not that he’d be on my move on list anyway.
-
Mentions of Daren Powell. Shudders. The only centre back to be made entirely from glass. Not the non-shatter variety.

Yep, a laughing emoji. What more can you add? The bloke (ESN) needs professional help.
