I just looked at that 'truebluearmy' forum. No posts showing on there since monday! And the latest posts aren't even about their dire situation. They're not even bothering to fiddle whilst Pompey burns. (An allusion for the classically educated amongst you! Wonder if better as Pompei?)

You're so right Rallyboy. This thread has kept me going since the season ended. If they ever really do go bust, I will just wander the streets , going up to strangers and asking them if they want to know about the football creditors rule, or would they like me to explain how a CVA works?

I was curious to see what portsmouth's own fans were saying about the situation, so had a look at some of their forums over the weekend in case they'd heard something we hadn't. I know we call them the' blue few', but even so I was shocked by how few posters they seem to have. You'd think their forums would be in meltdown in their precarious position, but no. Just a few desultory posts. Have I missed some real hotbed forum? Which is their main one? Oh and btw the ones I did see, in general know less than the posters on here. The typical posts are along the lines of .. "why don't we just sack Ben Haim and Kitson?", or "why did Birch sell Ward so cheap?", with the odd relatively sane one trying over and over again to explain the rules.

All the written details on season ticket sales just say available today. So I've just rung to renew. After the usual several layers of recorded messages, I got one that told me season ticket renewal is from 12 noon on6th June. Thought I let others know not to waste their time like I did mine.

In fact, to be fair to Kanu, I believe he re-negotiated his contract a year or two ago, from a one-year contract with a huge wage, to one paying roughly the same total money over 3 years. If he'd stuck to the orignal contract he'd have already received the remaining £300k by now. So this is typical portsmouth behaviour. In effect ask the bloke to defer his wages, to spread them over 3 years, then try to renege on the third year of the deal.

I really really can't understand why there is no more talk now of the FL witholding the golden share. I know Chainrai has said he wll not let them be liquidated, but he is apparently also saying he will not buy them unless/until the high wage earners leave. Birch is admitting they are not leaving. Ergo Chainrai will notgo ahead with the purchase --certainly not in time for the start of the season. Ergo they cannot guarantee now, for the FL AGM, that they will fulfil all next season's fixtures. So why should they have the golden share?

I see the new, improved, 'News' comments section has crashed again. Must be fat in the internet cables. And just in time to stop anyone linking to the players not paid again tweet....what a coincidence.

Is "Denmeadblue" on the News forum one of us?

So never mind what latest pointless tricks it can do, will the battery last more than a day at a time? Smartphones are getting plain silly for battery life. Most seem to need charging every day. My latest Blackberry only lasts about 2 days, whilst the older ones lasted for 3 or 4 days - and my good old-fashioned steam-powered Nokia usually only needs charging about once a week unless I use it a lot.

I hope to God he doesn't vote UKIP too ,or we'll have Dune joining in as well !

Skates will not receive further points deduction!

Come on in and join us nutjobs on the main Pompey thread on the lounge --the water's lovely. -
Is it likely to be as much as 20% of 20%? Thought the rumours were only 2p in the pound this time, ie 2% of 20%

I've tried ato answer my own question, but all I can find on-line is the generalisation that football players and clubs are football creditors. Can't see anything that would include Lampitt. Nor do I remember any talk of Storrie being a football creditor when he went. Anyone know more?
-
What determines who is a football creditor? Clearly a player is..clearly another club is. I've heard that agents are. (presumably if they are licensed) But I cannot see why a Chief Exec, or a director, should be a football creditor when someone who works at a club in a more lowly job apparently isn't. What are the rules?
-
Quite right Dune . I tthink you should try working in the real world too!

Yes I was wondering how the're paying Begbies Traynor. If they have (as seems likely) c 1700 pledges, that's 1700 x £2.50 = £4250 to rely on. Take off a bit for expense and that will probably pay for a day of the bloke's help.. maybe a day and a bit if they've got mate's rates. Still, since they really need to bid by thursday, I suppose that should be sufficient.
-
Strange that the Burnley fans site sem to think nothing will happen now because Jay is on holiday. Given that it will be his agent doing all the real negotiations I reckon a couple of mobile phone calls to the beach will cover a 'yes' or 'no' from the player. Maybe modern technology hasn't reached lancashire yet?
-
Wouldn't that be manslaughter? They've apparently been arrested on suspicion of murder. That implies a deliberate act, intending to kill. (Though I suppose they might arrest for murder but eventually charge for manslaughter)
-
I doubt that they've been reduced to putting coins in the electricity meter! Ditto gas, rates etc.
-
I see the 'comments' facility on the Portsmouth Evneing News web site has stopped working today. Too many comments getting too close to the truth? Or just usual portsmouth forgetting to pay for something?

He may hope to reduce debts to avery low level via a CVA, potter on using the parachute payments to cover the ongoing losses, and maybe squeeze a few million out for himself, THEN liquidate, emerging as undisputed owner of the ground. After a year or two of seeing Fratton rot (I know, I know...) the council will give in on planning and then chainrai can sell the ground for housing or retail development. But even that scenario relies on at least some of the high wage earners leaving so that he doesnt have to cover significant losses in the 3(?) years of the parachute payments. Assuming that the blue few's conspiracy theorists are wrong and he really did lend the club £18 million, you have to wonder why he go tinvolved in the first place. But from where he is now the scenario above is his best bet of getting some profit back. If he just alllows liquidation now, there will be legal disputes over his 'charge' on the ground, and perhaps forensic examination of the accounts.

I imagine Birch is ****ting himself waiting for the Ward to Palace transfer to go through, because he needs that money to cover the bills he's not been paying for the last fortnight or so -- allegedly
-
Presumably Birch will present Chainrai's bid to the FL on Thursday as 'proof' that the club will be bought by someone, whether it be BC or the trust. But surely until/unless the creditors agree to acept a bid, nothing is safe? anf=d how can that be confirmed by Thursday's meeting. Does chainrai really have a straight majority of the creditors vote himself?

I see that Alex's brother is the books of PFC's laughingly entitled 'academy'. Anyone know how old he is and if he is any good? Surely if his father has similar ambitions for him as he had for Alex, he will want him to move to us as well?

How do all you lot get to and from the game? I haven't drunk at matches since the drink-driving laws came in!
