Nicky Roberts@lege20 @pn_neil_allen Paid for a wall of fame plaque in Dec10 for South Stand no sign of it! Can't get any answers-only £50 but was a pressie #( Blimey! Is there no end to their abuse of trust? Even fans paying for a plaque were cheated!

Wow! Am seriously impressed. It was worth my £5 just to learn that. PS. Is there an English word for uquivalent too?
-
But he has two faces to choose from surely? I'm sure I've heard someone say something about him being 2 faced.
-
how?

I see the blue few are now excited over Norris and Ward pledging to the trust. That's 3 players so far from, their plucky squad. Wow! Of course, it takes Norris ... oooh, errrm, maybe as much as 45 mins, even if you include nights in the calculation, to 'earn' £100, so he really is making a big sacrifice isn't he? And they even seem pleased that he wants to stay at the club next season. On £15k a week! Of course he is keen to stay. No one else will pay him that much. That's why he signed for them in the first place. They just don't understand do they? The average L1 player is on £2k or £3k a week.

Shine on mate.

I see the Pompey Trust are still onlyclaiming nearly £1 million pledged. So really, they've only raised less than £100,000 from perhaps 8 or 900 people? How many of those will melt away and take their £97.50 back if they have to find the other £900? Is there anything legally binding about their pledge? Yet the News is saying that the trust 'bid' is probably the furthest advanced of the interested parties. Blimey! They really are in the **** aren't they? Meanwhile the Trust is apparently encouraging people to borrow £900, paying back over £1100 after interest, so they can make the £1000. Have they no shame? http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/loan-share-scheme-will-help-pompey-fans-find-cash-1-3765844

It WAS May who decided to make the announcement, in spite of the warnings that she was wrong. And as Home Secretary she is in charge of, and is responsible for, what the home office does. But I give up! You must be related to her or something!
-
It's complicated. Our goal difference is 3 better than theirs but we have only scored 2 more than them. So if they win by 3 goals they equal the gd , and if we don't score, they also then beat our goals scored, and they go up. If however we get a score draw we improve our goals scored, so a 1-1 draw and they win 3 nil and we are equal on all counts. In that case it goes to how we did against each other. We did better than them ,so we go up. The message is we need to score!

I don't see there is any question personally, but I agree that our opinions don't matter. So we can agree to diasagree. What matters if you are appealing to a court of law is what that court thinks.. not what Theresa May thinks. Which is why May has made TWO almighty cock ups, by first making a silly error and then secondly, by ignoring warnings from the Sunday Times that she was wrong -- warnings that the Sunday Times says it gave before she made her incorrect announcement, and that she chose to ignore, apparently not even checking with the court herself.
-
What sort of owl? TPHARTK. (The public has a right to know.)
-
It was within 3 months 'from' a fixed date ... hence my previous posts trying to explain this to you! What is more the Sunday Times had a story saying that their reporter checked with the European Court before the deadline , and warned the Home Office that their interpretation was wrong, but Theresa May went ahead with her premature announcement regardless. May initially claimed she had been reassured by the court about the date, but later, when challenged over this, failed to produce any evidence that she'd even asked. So a) throw him out anyway, but b) sack May for being stupid and ignoring warnings that she was being stupid, and quite possibly also lying to cover this up. If I say 'within one day from today', it clearly does not mean midnight tonight, but this is basically what May's interpretation equated to.

Never mind the players, surely as soonn as the playing season ends , for them, (forget the play-offs) Birch ought to sack most/all of the backroom staff that work woth the team? How can he justify paying Appleton, let alone all the others such as the famously overpaid kitman, when they have no games to play? If/when they get a buyer, then the new owner can employ a new manager to start buying replacement players. Till then, Appleton etc are just a drain on the creditors' money. Certainly if I were a creditor, I'd query this.

Ben Haim seriously will be earning around 10-12 times the average wage in L1, so it really is possible that one of the smaller clubs will put out an entire team against PFC next year (maybe even including subs) that will be costing less than Ben Haim on his own.
-
Employment law does apply to footballers, so legally they can sack them. However the football creditors rule means that they'd then lose their golden share and be ejected from the football league.

Tried twice just now, but the web site is timing me out. You might want to check with the organisers that they haven't got a problem -- or maybe not if you're winning so far! EDIT ... Scrub that. Both comments have now appeared, as 'awaiting moderation'

God yes. I'd forgotten how uncool some of the tunes were. To think that Clapton, May, etc used to play them! I wonder if I've still got the book somewhere.
-
Exactly. I gave the 2 day example to illustrate more clearly the stupidity of May's interpretation. Surely that was obvious? 'Everybody' does not agree it is ambiguous. The government here say one thing (the equivalent of saturday in my 2 day example) whilst the court itself, plus of course Qatada's lawyers, and apparently plus you too in effect, say the other (the equivalent of the sunday in my example) And I still say throw him out anyway! Just sack May as well. Don't make some poor sod of an official with a mortgage take the blame for her.
-
Of course what those who say we won't ever get regular attendances above 32k forget , is that soon we really will be the only team in Hampshire, with Portsmouth fans' children growing up supporting us. I'm looking forward to Westwood's kids one day asking him what the tattoos are about and asking him to take them to St Mary's. (Although the thought of him actually procreating is more than a little nauseating)

The criteria for winning were wrong too. The 'winning' team were called that because they took more income, but that ony happened with them promising free space hoppers and other equipment, and the firm that wanted them only paid £17.50 an hour for lots of venues, not the £35 they asked for, so they'd have had to provide loads of equipment. It is likely that their profit would have been much less than the 'losing' team's. They may even have made a loss. I mean, on that basis they could have won by saying "for every hour you take at £17.50 , we'll give you £100 cash in hand."
-
I repeat i'm all for chucking him out regardless, but it isn't ambiguous. The european court agree with his lawyers, and after all it is their court and their rules. It is just Theresa May who who somehow intepreted the really difficult word 'from' incorrectly. As in "2 days from today Friday" according to her would mean up to midnight on Saturday, whereas to everyone else it is up to midnight on Sunday.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-17781762 I can't be the only person on here who learnt the guitar from his 'play in a day' book. He got whole generations picking and strumming. Mind you, it took more than a day!

I too think many on here are writing Barnard off far too quickly. He's not a bad player at all. And let's face it, he never bottles a challenge ............. or if he does, it hasn't been proven

Finally something we can do to help! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/phones-can-help-pompey-1-3754641

Birch ducked this question when he did the web chat. He said at the end of that that he'd give 'the News' answer to the questions he'd not had time to answer, but I see no sign of anything being published.
