  1. Only half empty! You've still got a long way to go mush.
  2. I have definitely had no relations with anyone on this forum. with acknowledgements to bill clinton
  3. Well Birmingham certainly finished the season well. Let's face it, not many have beaten Reading. But basically we want whichever is the weakest team to somehow get through by a fluke, to provide some relatively easy points next year.
  4. Exactly. There are only 3 or 4 posters on here who bully/troll/wind up most of the time. We all know who they are. Sad gits with no real life. I simply ignore just about everything they say. Not really a problem is it?
  5. There's no need to be insulting!
  6. Nice comment there already that sums it up: madeupname2 3 May 2012 3:04PM There's still a problem with understanding what it is and what's at stake. Sound like a pretty thick bunch. What's not to understand about: "your fat contract's bankrupting the club, please please pledge a token amount (don't worry it'll never come to anything) so we can save a bit of face."
  7. After learning of this ad, I will be sure to use their firm every single time I go into administration.
  8. They want the attention to help find their daughter. If they 'backed away from the limelight', they'd be giving up on her.
  9. Quite. And no we shouldn't. In spite of the claims by some on this thread ,it is a rare parent indeed who has never taken a thoughtless risk with their children. Most of us are lucky enough not to suffer such terrible consequences..that's the only real difference. My wife and I once left our 7 year old son fast asleep in our hotel room, whilst we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. After dinner we strolled out onto the quay next to the hotel, turned round and were horrified to see our son, in his pyjamas and bare footed, trotting towards us in the dark. God knows how he'd found his way there. 18 years or so later I still have that image of our son in my mind. Anything could have happened, from abduction to drowning. But we were lucky. The McCanns weren't. Are all those condemning the McCanns, really able to say, hand on heart, that they have never left a child asleep, not even for a very short time, in what they thought was a safe environment?
  10. Yep -- the legend that is draining nearly £1.9 million a year out of pompey. Why do we poor mugs who effectively pay their obscene wages, let footballers get away with quoting a weekly wage rather than an annual salary?

    Why......

Damn good question. IMO it is a safety issue, to ensure that people do actually unplug them, rather than just rely on a switch and leave them plugged in. Switches can go wrong. Having an older brother who is an electrical engineer, I have been indocrinated into switching off at the plug just about every electrical device, rather than just switch off -- kettles, TVs, toasters, dishwasher ... etc.. especially anything that generates heat.
  12. I heard he later explained he meant he'd take them all on a coach trip to see Johnny Vegas at the Hammersmith Apollo.
  13. Watched Norwich when I was a student there around the time of the Flood --'a fine city'! When I mention Graham Paddon that will tell you how long ago. Been a second team for me ever since. A club that is really part of its local community, with a sensible approach to finances (and ticket prices) Glad you've managed to stay up. Oh, and sod Ipswich!
  14. No. They sound worse. 'wolves a bigger club than Southampton' etc
  15. But is it ok if I go dressed as a troll?
  16. Which one is the bigger cheat?
  17. This is what happens with global warming, however caused. We will get increasingly extreme spells of weather - hot dry spells, high winds, 'biblical' downpours, droughts and floods. Only a matter of time till we get a plague of locusts and frogs!
  18. “Apart from 2 Swedish football championships, 8 Swedish Cups,2 UEFA Cup finals, a Danish Superliga, a Danish Super cup, taking Finland to their highest ever FIFA ranking, guiding Switzerland to 3rd in the FIFA rankings and to their first European Championship in 36 years, what has Hodgson ever done?” enquired one fan of being hugely unrealistic. “Hodgson may be English, but he can’t even pronounce his own name properly.” Hodgson for England With the FA insisting that Hodgson is the only manager that they’ve approached, England fans have been left perplexed that Harry Redknapp has been overlooked. “Surely Harry is the right man to take England forward,” insisted one bemused fan. “You only have to look at the clubs he’s managed and what he’s achieved.” “Okay, his only trophy is an FA Cup that he won with Portsmouth, but there’s more to his achievements than that.” “It’s all about laying the foundations for the future.” “I mean ,you only have to look at where Portsmouth are now.”
  19. My vote increased his percentage from 16.5 to 18 so he's not had many votes yet. Come on folks!
  20. Nice 'story' on news thump ...especially like the portsmouth bit http://newsthump.com/2012/04/30/roy-hodgson-approached-by-fa-to-become-englands-new-turd-polisher/
  21. Frankly I don't really care how good Hodgson will be. I'm just enjoying seeing Redknapp overlooked after 'everyone', including him, assumed he was a shoe-in -- always assuming he can read the papers well enough to understand it properly. In effect his "I'm too stupid to commit tax fraud" defence in court has caught up with him IMO. It made him impossible to appoint as England manager.
  22. Yet we actualy targeted him at Palace as a weak link because of his lack of height, for Rickie to beat in the air and knock balls down into the area. Remember Lee Todd anyone? The opposition just used to chip the ball over his head! To be successful in the 'EPL' you have to have pace, and in defence, height as well.
  23. Will miss games on Saturdays. Man u went from the start of the season till after Christmas before they had a home game on a Saturday. Shouldn't be that bad for us, but even so .......
  24. I'll be in orangey-brown corduroy trousers, and a beige cardigan over a yellow-ish polo shirt (I'll really pleased to see these have become popular again .. mine date from 1971. They're a bit stained, but no one will notice. Live dangerously eh?) Perhaps a cravat if it is cold. The cardigan has these really fun buttons, shaped liked half-footballs, and I do like to be "down with the kids". And if it rains, a pac-a-mac on top. Not sure about the hat ....woolly hooped red and white hat, or my purple and yellow "I love UKIP" baseball cap? What do you advise? The cap goes better with the plastic bag I carry my thermos flask and blanket in, but I wouldn't want to look out of place - I know how much Turkish wants us all to do the team proud.
  25. About 15% interest for him
