Whatever the reason for the delay, this is the weirdest appointment process for a new manager at any club that I can remember. I know about the compensation argument etc, but really ...... What the hell is going on?!
-
Will the numbers be ok on the back with these stripes, or is there a plain panel for the number?
-
"A number of changes..." sounds to me to be code for...... "car parking is a real hassle and makes us bugger all profit so we're winding down as much as possible. We only do it because it was part of the initial planning permission application." But maybe I'm too cynical. We park in Cemex and have renewed already. It is not a big car park so I see little chance of others getting tickets I'm afraid. What happened to the large number of spaces at the school over the footbridge? I'd have thought any school would be delighted to have that income.

Bella-kotchap's a full German international at 21 (ish?) . Of course he's worth that much in today's market.

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?

Renewed over the phone just now. Very efficient. Even managed to renew car parking ticket, which I think is the first time they've had parking ready at the same time as seats. Looking forward to the championship. Less dominated by huge amounts of foreign money (albeit not completely free of it!) so a bit more of a level playing field. -
Seems to me that the most likely scenario is that after the probable departures we'll still have a couple of acceptable centre backs and full backs, wingers/wide midfielders and maybe one or two vaguely acceptable (by championship level) strikers. But central midfielders will be the major priority if we do lose JWP and Lavia.
-
Nice touch here. JWP kicked a ball into thr face of a young fan as he practised before kolick off. He turned went into thr cried to see the lad was ok, hugged him and gave him the ball. Then later steward got jwp to sign.

Have to hope the youngsters will come on as strikers
-
The trouble with this sort of play is that it risks a monumental cock up, with eg an attacker latching on to a badly placed pass between defenders. The main tactical change I've seen from Selles has been to get the keeper to pass to a centre back who passes it back again etc. Fills me with fear every time!

Of course I'll renew. I support saints. Quite enjoyed the lower leagues last time. Too many on here seem to have only seen us in the Premier League. There is life elsewhere! -
Doesn't hurt as much as last time Have become disillusioned with the premier league anyway. It's just a showcase for super rich foreigners (and even foreign governments) to display their latest set of ludicrously overpaid mercenaries with no loyalty to a club or city/area. As long as we don't go bust again, I'm actually quite looking forward to the championship. And as others have said I hope we will see some home grown youngsters coming through.

Feels like Jones kept his breakdown till the press conferences , whereas Selles has his when picking the team. No striker at all?!
-
It was worse than that IMO. Another arsenal player baulked sulemana earlier in the same run, before the 'tackle' you're talking about. Should have been obstruction at least -- not that I can remember any referee giving an indirect free kick fir obstruction for many years.
-
Have arsenal borrowed that bloody Palace drummer? Is this a standard thing now. More likely to stop me renewing my season ticket than relegation
-
I'm going to wake up from this dream in a minute
-
Only if they're carrying a drum.😠
-
If like me you really disliked having a bloody drum in the ground and can't understand why it was allowed, please don't just whinge about it on here. Write and complain to supporterservices@saintsfc.co.uk Or next they'll be giving the away fans loudspeakers too!
-
They seem to be the ones with the bloody drum. Really really annoying
-
Right ..... Haaland red card after 15 mins, De Bruyne own goal on 40mins. Big Paul screaming powered headed goal just on half time. And then we lose 2-4. 😉
-
The game itself will be bad enough, but I'm dreading their bloody fans singing 'o when the spurs..' loudly, drowning out our demoralised fans and claiming it's their song. Bit I'll still be there, as I will be in the championship, because i'm a fan and you take the rough with the smooth (In fact of course their song historically was always 'glory glory hallelujah ' )

United players surround the ref time after time. Get away with too much

My son said he'd put £5 on us winning. I asked what odds? He said he hadn't bothered to look since it didn't seem relevant 😀

If you go in really early there may be parking in Salford quays, see media city and the Lowry centre, but expensive. Ditto Trafford park industrial area. But best bet is tram, either direct to ground or into city centre to see it first then back out for match. Trams are frequent. If you want car to be a bit closer than Altrincham for getting away after match, then there's usually street parking reasonably close to Dane Road station in Sale. Enjoy the game - respect for going given the likely outcome!
-
Tram would normally be ok, but doubtful for a 2pm kick off from a 1.30 arrival at picadilly. Altrincham line to Warwick Road stop, near the cricket ground. Not sure a taxi would be much faster in the traffic. Frankly, best bet is get an earlier train!
