Ah never mind, I see it is already being discussed on one of the other various threads on VVD. I feel I didn't use my 3 posts wisely today.

Just back from the game (they're my Dad's team)! They played some good football and wanted it more than Reading. But will definitely need to strengthen to compete in the prem. Imagine Wagner will probably stay for another season now, provided he is able to bring in the players he wants/needs. BTW Huddersfield have some crazy playoff stats... they have now won 6 playoff shootouts (semis & finals) and nobody else has won more than 1. They have also won the playoffs in every division without scoring a goal in the final.

He's been out on loan a lot to be fair (including winning the FL Trophy twice), and when we did actually try to offload him to Bristol City in January he got injured

They got 81.4% for and the Trust was 48.5% of this The the 51.5% attributable to the HNW, 32.9% voted for and 18.6% against (as 81.4 minus 48.5 = 32.9) Of the 48.5% from the Trust voters, we know 1825 of 2272 voted for = 80.3%... ... 80.3% x 48.5% = 38.96% Therefore effectively the votes for was 38.96% + 32.9% = 71.86% So if the trust votes were actually split proportionality in line with how their members voted, it would not have passed the 75% test. But in any case that's all irrelevant. Trust only acts as single entity as part-owner of the football club, so can only vote one way. The ordinary fans (not the HNWs) are shareholders in the Trust, not in the club directly.
-
So I guess it took a little longer than expected... but the joy of being the biggest fan owned club in the world (or whatever the hell they liked to claim) seemed to wear off quite quickly

Ballot closes today for the Trust vote on the Eisner deal...

Smaller teams will just get clobbered by this. Top 6 will continue to get away with it.

None of today's performance was for the EU anyway. It was all for the electorate. There's an election tomorrow as well as next month.

Lol yep - another quote from the same report... It is unlikely that the initial compliance cost estimate, simply to maintain the status quo of ‘£5M over five years’, is substantially wrong. It could potentially be slightly lower, but there is a possibility it could be substantially higher.

They can't make a profit. Not allowed to. Tornante have offered two options for the price of the shares. £1000 cash now, or £1 now followed by a series of payments that are conditional on future promotions. The PST cannot distribute profits to its members and therefore the PST Board have decided that the only offer that we can present to our Community Shareholders is the option for £1000 immediate cash payment

But the implication of club officials also being arrested is that they are complicit in the activity... and therefore gained an unfair advantage in some way from the arrangements. i.e. they were able to secure the player's services for less than they otherwise would have had to pay. Above is all conjecture of course and who knows where the investigations will lead.

Speaking of which, the accounts to June 2016 have been published.
