I disagree, judges don't tend to do anything on a hope. Weston Saint's post shows that even if they can defer Gayadamark and Chanrai they cannot even meet their current liabilities. The reality that to 'administer' an admnistrator have to have assets or a chance to trade out of the current circumstances with cashflow support - Pompey cleary have neither. If administration were, or had ever been an option they would have taken it by now, why go to court and risk being liquidated otherwise?

Had to laugh at O'Hara being interviewed, he was saying listen to those [Pompey] fans as they were sing "We're going to Wembley" That was the Saints fans you moron! Their support was pathetic and they had no answer, "Bring on the Taxman" at 4-1 down, loved it.

They demonstrated this bravery by pelting those around him from the safety of their seats..... Agreed maybe not everyone could see it was a joke.

Saintbletch, I don't think our views are that far apart. The reality of today was that they beat us with a Goalkeeper whose weekly salary was more than our teams combined, a sub who they shouldn't have been allowed to sign and a acomplished Prem midfielder on loan. I satisfy myself with the fact that we will spend money, but not at all costs like they have. Football will eat itself, we will be in a stronger position as a result. My gut feel is that a team's long term success is broadly proportionate to it's attendances. This allows for short term blips but longer term the commercials kick in. They may have one today, but they are the equivalent living on their credit cards - at some time you have to pay at a massive cost. I to was frustrated, they have cheated to assemble the team they have. But if they go into admin they will likely be in the Champ next season with a further points deduction and a squad akin to that which Portaloo had to deal with.

At the start of the game a Saints fan did his impression of W******d, dressed in big blue hat, 'Pay up Pompey' T-shirt, Monkey face and miniture bell. One of the funniest things I have seen in a long while. Was great until some idiots started pelting him with coins form behind, I am sure not knowing he was taking the ****. The objects hit other fans in front. Even if it was a Pompey fan throwing objects into a group of people is mindless arsehole behaviour.

Have to say after today's game I do not want them liquidated. Although we lost we won't get a special atmosphere like that again at St Mary's, we won't all watch the cup draw with so much enthusiasm and we won't ever get to celebrate like we did when Ricky scored. So Skates, I wish you to limp along (actually flounder is better and more apt) so I can take my young son to days like this again sometime soon.

We showed more class and we also showed passion. Last year we would have given up at 1-0 or try to hold out at 1-1. We never looked out of it until the 3rd goal. Never thought I would feel 'ok' after losing to the Skates 4-1 but so proud of the fans, players and club today.

Paragraph 22 deals with the fact that the directors or the company themselves cannot plaice the club into admin. This wouldn't preclude another creditor (and there are a few) forcing them in into admin. *and yes the typo was deliberate.

The issue Portsmouth will have is that most people with money usually have it because they don't waste it on flawed business ventures. As other posters have noted, why pay £30-£100m? when you can pick it up for circa £10m when they slip into admin. Up until a couple of months there was reason, Premiership football, but now even this 'asset' will be lost. Saints were lucky, our new owner is generous but not mad. He bought the club at a good price and has not bet the farm on having to hit the Prem. I'd be interested to see DP's view of potential owner #5.

If they go pop we get a bye which is worth far more. If they go into admin we can simply deduct from their share of the gate receipts or borrow John Utaka for 11 days. In a business sense the opposition have put an extra 10k supporters on the door and £250k from TV coverage IIRC, so we are covered either way.
