More important for me is the shielding they get from midfield. If Wanyama is on his game and Yoshida isn't stretched he has a chance. We stayed up two years ago with Yoshida and Fonte. With the right instruction they can do it again.

I admire the optimism, however, it misses the point as to why this summer was so frustrating. It just proved that clubs of our stature cannot break into the very top of the English game without crazy levels of investment.... And even then FFP is there to stop that. Football now exists to further the bigger clubs. We have our place, should we get ideas above it again we shall be slapped down once more.
