Sat in a Bar on The Beach watching the game with a few like minded Saints Fans, hoping and praying for a win regardless of what our views are on whether it keeps NA in a job (me - I hope he stays). If it all goes mammaries up at least I'll be able to ogle the bikini clad dolly birds instead as way of commiserating - although bizarrely its probably what I'll be doing if we win as well, but with a bigger smile on my face!!

Some great mid week memorys of The Dell during mid 70's - 1/ Ossie's debut v Leicester brought about a hope we could avoid relegation and added about 8000 to to the crowd. Think we won 1-0 but the place rocked - thought the oaps in the stands were going to come through the floor!! Sadly we went on to be the first team to fall foul of 3 up 3 down rule. 2/ Mentioned above WBA FA Cup replay 4-0, Channon hat trick. Absolutely sardined into The Milton. Each goal resulted in a surge and seemingly floated down to the next barrier and then crushed, whilst celebrating like a loon!! Happier outcome - went onto win The FA Cup. 3/ Anderlecht Cup Winners Cup. despite the late heart break as Jim Steele misjudged a bounce and we went out - what a night. Shame I couldn't make the earlier away leg. Sounded like fun despite the score!! 4/ 1st year in Div 2 beating Div 1 winners Derby County in a 5 star performance 5-0. Another Channon hat trick, but somehow managed to bow out to Colchester Div 3 or 4 at home next round!! 5/ Not at The Dell but it might as well have been as about 75% of the crowd were Saints supporters as a 1-1 draw at Brisbane Road virtually sealed promotion back to Div 1. collapsed wall and sporadic punch ups could't ruin a great night. Been numerous others, but not many recently for me - but The Night to beat All Nights has to be Micky Channon's Testimonial capping a tremendous few days of Cup Winning celebrations and Open Bus Top Parades. The match itself was incidental, but The Dell was majestic that night and the like of which will never be seen again (although the SMS pitch celebrations for the last 2 promotions were pretty impressive). 5/
