Not much chance of that ... the In Laws will be on the boat as well His best hope of excitement is dangling his rod over the side of the boat and hope he gets a nibble

Seeing Steve Mills on the pitch before the charity match at The dell that he'd organised for a Leukemia Charity. He was a shell of the man who had such a great career ahead of him till he was injured in a car crash and then succumbed to leukemia. You could see just being there took a great deal of effort and he was being supported by his wife. Christ he was just into his 30's. Sadly he passed away a few weeks later I think. Listening to the commentary on Ocean ? on the Internet out here(before Saints TV and Solent had the Francaise) of the last game at The Dell and of course the fairy tale ending with Matty scoring that last goal. The Commentater Hook ? went absolutely ballistic and was screaming something like "and if that isn't a good enough reason to go out and get p!ssed tonight i don't know what is":p. I was jumping about like a loon and screaming like a mad man, and yes, tears of joy. Don't actually remember the rest of the match. Watching The JPT Cup being lofted at Wembley on TV in France was pretty good as well.

A few of us went on The Norfolk Broads back in the beautiful non stop sunny summer of 76 .... only problem was we went in Sept when it started to rain again. Wroxham was where we picked our boat up from. It was all a bit tame for a bunch of teenage lads, but some of the pubs could only be accessed by boat so back in those days of pubs having strict licensing hours it was nice not to be chased out of the pub 10 minutes after last orders At Great Yarmouth we ventured out into the open sea for a mile or so before turning back!!, but we had to lower the roof on the deck (there is probably a nautical term for it ) to get under a bridge and of course the skies opened and we got totally drenched going both in and out Make as much use of hotel/pub bogs as you can, 5 lads using a chemical loo wasn't a great idea  The speed limit is 4kts I think, slow walking pace. We misjudged the distance back to Wroxham on the final day and had to get up early and speed back to Wroxham as fast as we could and I'm pretty sure our wake probably meant quite a few people moored up having brekkie got tea spilt all over them ... sorry We had a real classic moment at Wroxham station, waiting for a bus to get us to the boat yard. There wasn't a timetable at the bus stop and a straw munching carrot crunching yokel came up and told us that we'd just missed the bus with a big grin on his face. we asked him when the next bus was and he replied Wednesday ... they only run on market day .... shame we arrived on Saturday The reason we were in a big rush on the Saturday morning was to get back to Southampton to see us play Notts Forest. Everything was planned, my dad was at Eastleigh station to take all our suitcases off us whilst we hopped back on the train and got into the ground just before kick off. Then a bizarre thing happened .... stood on the terracing after a week on the ocean waves we were swaying around like a bunch of weebles (obviously aided and abetted by plenty of beer on the train journey) but it was a funny as phuck sensation Hope the weather is nice for you, as being cooped up in a small boat with a load of other people can drive you crazy :smt103. Mind you I'm sure your boat will be a bit more luxurious than ours was.

DubaiPhil and I had the pleasure of bumping into him in Rock Bottom in Dubai a few months back, visiting from Oman. He could certainly belt out a few good old rock n roll songs in The Karaoke sessions. And he was dressed for the part as well, brown leather jacket, white t shirt and shades :smt004 He was more than happy to chat with us even though he had a bevvy of Philipino girls with him. Wouldn't let us buy him a drink, but did pose for pics and chat about his time at Saints. His favourite moment was baby sitting Alan Shearer and calming down his pre match nerves on his debut against arsenal ... and of course it worked a treat as Shearer hit a hattrick to become the youngest player to do so in Top Flight football. Yep the guy is as mad as a hatter but a very nice and unassuming bloke to boot.

No Chocolate Boxes at The Milton End yet. But for for it made me realise that in those days they couldn't play night matches as there weren't any floodlights  It nearly seemed as if playing football was of secondary importance to them, Snooker, Billiards, Cricket and Pig Breeding seemed higher up the agenda What fantastic images they were .... thanks for the link.

ndroid talking about Grunt ...... Andronikou maintains Portsmouth will understand should Grant wish to leave. "We will not stand in Avram's way," the administrator added. "There is a contract in place, but I have said we are not going to ask for compensation. "We at least owe him that after the tremendous job he has done for this football club." LOL ..... and who knows how many months wages

Remembering that I am a lowly waste of space expat, have I missed something about American's working in McD's giving out too much change on the news? Sorry to ruin the joke by the way

Andrew Surman Has Been Told He Can Leave.
ericofarabia replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
LOL .... looking at the fred title, I thought this was going to be one of those 2 year old freds that suddenly make a re appearance So, have we re signed him but now put him on the transfer list? -
 Can you quickly explain it to me before you get the big ban

I'm going to petition NC until he comes clean and says whether this rumour is true or not. Can you imagine how unsettling this must be for the rest of the midfilders in the squad. Would love to have him back, but lets be a little bit realistic here .... maybe next year when we are in the Championship, and he has put enough away in his piggy bank to ab able to take a pay cut to play for his beloved Saints. Have got no hard feelings about him leaving us to go to The Prem, in fact I think a part of his decision to leave was knowing (hoping) it would keep the club in business for a while longer.

Completely disagree .... the scarf gives the badge a different shape to the majority of other clubs badges and as stated above makes it stand out from the others. Maybe we should get some street graffitti artist like Banksie to jazzz it up a bit for you

Judging by your posts of the last few days ... Mr. Grouch Are you still on the No Beer, Fags or fat women diet .... you seem much grumpier than normal
-
In a way I suppose, Yes you could ... the trouble is you'd be peddling your puckering a hole to sex starved 6ft 6 tall Pathan taxi drivers and labourers ... what ever floats your boat I suppose :smt047

Having read The Guardian Article I bet Avram is searching for a way to get another nationality Passport ... his Israeli one won't cut the ice here

I'm shocked .... I'm glad I live the life of a Trappist Monk and don't let myself get dragged into these dens of depravation by Phil :smt081

A Big Thanks to Papa and Antonio as well.
ericofarabia replied to ericofarabia's topic in The Saints
The trouble as we saw this season is the problem of the time it takes for new players to gel with the rest of the team and vicversa. At least with either one or both staying we have a bit of continuity. Who knows, AP and NC may already have ready made replacements in mind and will see how those pan out before proceeding any further. -
MB you need to get back to checking out bewbs etc....... seranading Nick Illingsworth in a pub and calling Rick Chorley fit .... :smt081

Along the lines of the best wishes to Chris Perry for his time spent at SMS, I'd like to say a huge thanks to Papa and Antonnio for the entertainment they have given us this season. Although not always an automatic shoe in for a starting place, the impact both of them have made as Super Subs winning points and a trip to Wembley has been huge. It has been great to see wide players with pace, skill and aggression to go past defenders and even get crosses in sometimes and of course they have contributed to some great goals and assists as well as playing with a smile on their faces. Once again thanks guys, and who knows maybe we haven't sen the last of them yet.

Actually, outside of 'hey big boy are you the guy who ****s fatties' from drunken fatties, probably the only chat up line he's ever had
