  1. Watching WHU v Spurs. Don't know why .... want both teams to lose badly which obviously won't happen!!
  2. Sack the Board!!
  3. A good few years back now, but The Arkles wouldn't let me in with my 14 yr old son. Don't know if things have changed. Asked a copper for directions to any pubs nearby with a beer garden so that we could sit outside, and he burst out laughing and replied "You're obviously not from around here are yer lad. Take a look around, the houses don't have gardens, let alone the pubs"!!!
  4. And of course you can never see this one too often. Classic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=c3NjBg80AMc
  5. I see your 10 Merlins and raise you with 16 Merlins!!
  6. By joining us he can team up again with Koeman and be a part of "The Two Ronnies" Roadshow to success ;-)
  7. Looks to be two footed, pretty nippy and a cool finish for the 2nd. People banging on about the fee and resale value .... I believe the original outlay is 8 million with add ons up to 12.5. IF we end up having to pay all the add ons it would be presumably because of goals scored, position in table, games played etc. In which case it would indicate he has been a success and worth the outlay. Resale value .... he has signed a 4 year contract (No sn!ggering at the back please) ... if he stays and plays for 4 years, once again we'll have got value for money. Lots of IFs, but he will give us something up front that we have been lacking.
  8. So was it the postie or milkman back in the day, who was a member of Mensa?
  9. Pity there isn't a picture of Funnel hitting the post with a time on it ;-)
  10. Do you really believe the Morgan will be staying? Do you think Wanyama with his style of play, won't pick up a few suspensions and injuries? I thought the aim was to build up a decent squad to ensure competition in all positions? Not decimate it and replace with players unproven at Prem level.
  11. Well looks like Al Jism Sports, or as they are now re branded as Bell End Sports, are only showing one of this coming Saturday's 1500 KO's (Strangely their schedule showed that they were going to 2 y'day) so looks like they haven't resolved matters with The EPL, yet still shamelessly advertise see all 380 Prem Games Live on their web site. WABOC's.
  12. Hmmm ... wonder if Sharp is happy to go along with this? Being a huge Sheff Utd fan I'd guess Leeds would be joint top of local rivals alongside Sheff Wed. A tough call for him to make.
  13. Just the opposite possibly!! Am I right in saying Everton refused to have him as ref for a few years after some decisions given against them in a Liverpool Derby a few years back?
  14. I may well be wrong, but I thought the Dougal V Sammy battles were more late 60's early 70's era. I can remember as a wee ankle biter, seeing mayhem at White Hart Lane during the game, and on the way to the tube and at Waterloo after a League Cup quarter finals in about 68 or 69. In those less PC orientated days, one of the songs was about the ethnic background of Sammy. ;-( The 0-0 draw was a bit of a limp ending to a fantastic last few weeks of the season with around 10000 away fans at Fulham, Luton and Orient during the run in.
  15. Is Artur doing an Asley Cole impersonation here? Not sure what the story is behind it, but there are numerous, often very humerous, pics doing the rounds on Twitter with Ashley Cole photo shopped into them just on the peripheral of the main event looking like he is trying to get into the picture. It is always the same pic of him used, stood with hands behind his back and slightly leaning forwards. Funniest ones for me so far have been him breaking the tape just ahead of the runners at the finish of a 100M race, various official team photos and on the pavement of The Beatles Abbey Road Album Cover.
  16. Depends what sort of stuff you are taking to get to believing this could happen!! If it's an afternoon session on the booze count me in .... but Just Say NO to drugs
  17. At last the start of the season is nearly upon us. I have to say that this has probably been the worst summers ever for me football wise, probably made even harder to endure, by the huge anticipation I had for this coming season and The Saints representation at The World Cup I had as the end of last season approached. F*** The World Cup with England's pitiful attempts. F*** the attitudes and antics of some of our former heroes. F*** the club for it's part in what has happened and letting players go without adequate replacements lined up. At last football is back and it was with some joy that I actually felt a tingle of excitement as I was refreshing all the latest scores for updates on how the games were going in The Lower Leagues. Shame Skatesmuff slightly ruined it. Get the Open Topped Bus out for their plucky heroes to be paraded around town after such a gallant fight back. It is though, with much trepidation that I look ahead to next weeks game at Anfield. Sadly I can't see anything less than a 3-0 walloping It will be interesting to see what sort of interaction there is between Lovren and Fonte. Huge occassion for Jose as captain .... hope he manges to keep his head (not in a Lovren type way!!). I'm really pushed to see where goals are going to come from, players still gelling, strongest formation still unknown, and with Yosh or Jos to partner Jose against a very fluid and quick LFC /midfield and attack live on TV brings me out in a cold sweat it's the next 5 games that will be far more important in the long run ..... taking points off the likes of WBA, WHU, Newcastle, Swansea and QPR will have far more bearing on where we'll stand in the table, although even a scrappy 0-0 draw at Anfield would fill my heart with joy!! At last live football is about to begin, but also what will very likely be quite an epic roller coaster ride of 21 more days of The Transfer Window to endure ..... it's been a long hard summer and it's not over yet!!
  18. I'm sure there must be one from "The Carry On .... "" series from the 70's that would sum up the mayhem and frolics of this summer!! Can just imagine Syd James playing Les Reed. "Scary Movie" ... it's certainly been scary viewing so far.. "Mutiny on The Bounty" anyone? "Mission Impossible" will hopefully have a "Happy Ending" "Wreck it Ralph" ... please don't let that happen!! Obviously "Spiderman" is'nt going to be a popular choice, but pretty please let him see sense, apologise and set about getting back to being an important team member and reinvents himself as "Spiderman 2" Was a film ever made about The Phoenix, from Greek Mythology which rose from the ashes?
  19. Triplets Co joined at the ears - how is that going to work?
  20. My first ever Live Gig was BJH in Salisbury, and the Set List was just about the same as BJH Live, which would certainly be in my Top 10.
  21. I felt sorry for Rickie. The only time he seemed to get the ball was when he went hunting for it on the wings. He made a couple of decent passes, but he isn't going to get a look-in at any free kicks around the box or penalties whilst Gerrard is on the pitch. For all of Sterlings, at times breath-taking possession, it was pretty much a repeat of The World Cup, they would lose possession at the end of everyone of his runs. If he had an eye for a pass he'd be a world beater. I think a crunching VW tackle in the first few minutes is required if he plays against us at Anfield. I thought Shaw looked pretty good at Wing Back. His ball control and passing were way above the levels shown by any of the other Man U defenders, and has alrady double his Goal Assist stats!! I can see him scoring a few goals if Utd keep the 3 at the back, as most of his work seemed to be attacking rather than defending. His was lucky that Sterling and Coutinho didn't really play wide, but kept running up blind alleys through the middle. But boy, none of back 3 looked comfortable on the ball at all, so they may have to change formations. It was p!ssing me off when the taters kept banging on about how this was the match that the whole of America wanted to see, yet there were loads of empty seats all around the ground, especially the upper tiers. Maybe a few of the 110,000 the other day actually wanted to see Real Madrid.
  22. For old times sake .... has Michael Owen been seen in Winchester buying a house ? But I won't do a "Has Rudi signed yet" I have standards !!!
  23. I am surprised (but pleased at the good taste) that Marquee Moon by Television has had so any mentions. By my reckoning TSW members must account for 90% of all copies sold
  24. Have you been on The Sanatogen again? We are in the middle of a complete meltdown and you are being optimistic
  25. Seeing the actions of Lallana and Lovren and the knee jerk reaction of Morgan, I'd say some footballers have more than 35% Fat .... it's just that they don't test the area betwen the ears for it
