Plenty of talk about the midfield, but haven't seen JWP's name mentioned. Thought he looked really lively when he came on, always looking to receive the ball. As many have said, our squad looks so much better in depth than last season, and is being used correctly as well.

On the topic of loans ... who pays the salaries? I thought I read somewhere that the parent club was still responsible for paying the salaries, which seems a bit strange, god forbid we are still paying Osvaldo to be crap elsewhere, or Gaston who was reportedly on a big wedge. maybe each loan is negotiated differently. Any ideas?

Getting a fully fit J Rod back will be like getting a new signing, sadly it's a fair while away yet. But it will be nice having some pace up front and variation as well.

God Help Man U if their future stars "BEST" is getting thrashed 4-0 by MK Dons. Did he mention his own part in the downfall with his team selection and tactics? Reminds me a little bit of Redkrap when he picked a team of kids plus Delap (who was having a bit of a mare at the time) at Mansfield away, which we lost to the team bottom of Div 4 (old money). The difference being that LVG by saying that they tried their best is hinting that they are crap, where as Turdflaps slagged the kids off and said I told you they weren't good enough yet, but failed to mention he was responsible for picking the team or choosing the tactics!! Shaw must be mightily relieved that he hasn't been involved in the 3 games so far.

He has covered more ground in each match so far than any other Saints player ..... and that is without a proper pre season. Have to admit that one or two tackles haven't had the usual bite and his face isn't the happiest (was it ever though on the pitch?) Be interesting to see how he interacts when we score.

BJH Live, as mentioned above, my first Live Gig was BJH at Salisbury Guildhall and the play list was virtually exactly the same as this album. The Live Version of Mocking Bird is so superior to album version. Made In Japan - The Live Version of Smoke on The Water is right up there in Best Songs Ever category. Take away the all too common (for that era) OTT drum solo on The Mule though. Climax Blues Band - Live FM. Some average tracks, but stuff like 7th Son, So Many Roads and Country Hat make up for them. The Song Remains The Same - as with Made In Japan, take out The marathon drum Solo on Moby ****, but things don't get much better than Dazed and Confused live. Rage Aainst The Machine - Live at The Grand. Just non stop raw aggression from start to finish. Brilliant. Honourable Mentions go to amongst others - Space Ritual by Hawkwind. 4 sides of sheer Space Cadet drug fueled chaos! You have to check out Sonic Attack. Seen them 4 times Live. Awesome. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band - Live. Vambo Rules!! Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous. Stand out track Still in Love with You. Frampton Comes Alive. Take out some of the dross and it would make a damn good single album. Side 4, Lines on my face and Do You Feel Like I Do, make it worth getting. Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps. Think there may be a few Young Live Albums but I think this is the pick (but could be wrong!!) Take out RATM and the next youngest of that lot is probably 35 - 40 years old ...... Oh My God

Unfortunately I too fear us being torn a new one. If they get an early goal, I can see a capitulation to 5-0. Not sure if Swansea and Palaces sterling efforts yesterday will give us encouragement or make Liverpool more aware of the dangers of being a little complacent. Today is basically a free hit, the next 5 games against teams in our 8th to relegation mini league are far mor important.

Carlton Cole hasn't got any better, controls a ball further than I can kick one!! Can see wy Poch wants Morgan - Spurs midfield pretty woeful at the moment.
