  5. Born and brought up in Salisbury in the 80s. At that time half my mates were Saints fans, half Liverpool. Always considered myself a local supporting my local team.
  6. He sucks up debris He f***in hates pompey Parsons whooa, whoaa ?
  7. Will not be renewing. Has anyone ever owned a season ticket and not seen a win all season?? (I did miss a few games) I did a 4 hour round trip almost every other week to watch rubbish, barely any excitement, no wins and worst of all- no confidence in getting any when I set off. It wil take a few years to trust again !!

    Ruben Selles

Agreed. Didn't Napolean or someone say he'd rather a lucky general than a good general? Well Selles is a good manager and a lucky one
  9. Good points. But for me, essentially, we forgive alot when we win. If we lose then these things (poor football, poor PR) are not forgiven, they are blamed.
  10. From same Athletic article... Similar groundwork was made prior to signing Sulemana. The club first started tracking the 20-year-old Ghanaian during his time at another Danish club, Nordsjaelland, and have paid close attention to his development since. ADVERTISEMENT Sulemana joined Nordsjaelland from the Right To Dream academy in his homeland in 2020 and, having been directly involved in 18 goals in his first full season and several noteworthy performances, signed for French club Rennes in the summer of 2021 for a fee rising to €20million (around £17.5m/$20.8m today). From Southampton’s standpoint, he is the “Mane type” player. Sulemana can operate across the front line and while his goals record this season — one in 14 league appearances — is lukewarm to say the least, outside recruitment sources, who wished to speak on the condition of anonymity to protect their jobs, said the move reaffirmed that Southampton were “sticking to their principles”. Across Europe’s top five domestic leagues, Sulemana ranks in the top two per cent of forwards for dribbles completed per 90 minutes (4.71) and is in the top 15 per cent for assists (0.34) per 90. As demonstrated in his prolific ball-carrying volume — where he had one of the highest rates in Ligue One last season — Sulemana is direct and, as Southampton made efforts to do in the second half last night, a constant challenge with his runs in behind defences. Ajax and Manchester United had previously held an interest in the 15-cap Ghana international, who played in two of their three games at the recent World Cup, with extensive scouting reports, similarly to Southampton’s, indicating his goals record belies his potential. A case in point comes through analysing the underlying data. For instance, Sulemana’s number for successful carried actions (defined as dribbles that lead to a shot attempt) is in the top 14 per cent across Europe’s top five leagues. His directness opens up possibilities and a goalscoring threat that he doesn’t necessarily benefit from directly, but team-mates do. Aside from Edozie and Moussa Djenepo to some extent, Southampton have scant options when it comes to one-v-one dribbling quality. More incision from wide areas should lead to better productivity, in turn offering better to service to particular players in the box — namely, fellow newcomer Onuachu. ADVERTISEMENT “We’re very excited, because they’ll give us different threats,” Jones said after the defeat at Newcastle. Southampton made addressing the forward positions the priority this month. And, despite several setbacks and challenges, they placated those desires in the final hours of the window.
  11. Get him to Newcastle quick... tallest prem player versus second tallest prem player
  12. From Athletic... Southampton remain in talks to sign Genk striker Paul Onuachu. The Premier League side are aware of the difficulties in completing the deal to sign the 28-year-old, with Genk not wanting to sell, but communication lines remain open between the two sides. No agreement has yet been found, but Southampton are pushing to complete another signing after finalising a move for Stade Rennais forward Kamaldeen Sulemana. Southampton had a bid rejected for Onuachu last week but the striker is keen to move to the Premier League.
  13. We are 100% more shit. We will win this argument
  14. Loved him- one of my favourite ever saints managers (until this season). Brave. Aggressive. Showed no fear. Exciting football and genuinely cared (I expect he will always want to see us do well).
  15. What would the queen have wanted? Cancelling her beloved horse racing? She was a woman that dedicated every moment to others. Id guess she'd want us to choose. Not a few pious individuals deciding how and when we mourn.
  16. Think the words went like this... Sons and daughters tears and sadness love and laughter and happiness. Was the start of the golden era in Australian soaps
  17. But didn't that area vote Tory in the last (brexit) election? With a 22 thousand majority?
  18. I think this is a very good point to bring up. Air pollution, last year, killed roughly the same people as covid in Bristol. Around 300 people. So that's lots of people in hospital for BOTH reasons. Yet we don't angrily damn the diesel car/ van drivers who are essentially causing this. We accept its a personal choice.
  19. No. But I've lost someone precious because of fear mongering.
  20. Then ban chips, smoking, cars and wine.
  21. Anyone with the intelligence of a snail can see that vaccines do little to prevent infection. Hospitalisations and deaths yes, but infections no. The evil anti-vaxxers aren't killing anyone else. So that brings me to the conclusion that vaccines should never be forced on anyone. Edit: I've been double vaccinated.
  22. Unless fixed. Which you'd expect
  23. Ticket office- if you are reading this... We've been excluded because we live in a tier 3 area. But this may change tomorrow because (in Bristol) the rates have dropped dramatically. Don't forget about us if we change to tier 2 :)
  24. Literally anything can happen in 1.5 minutes
  25. Love this
