  1. The whole market has been fairly quiet for the last week. It's why Sky Sports are persisting with the Rooney\Suarez\Fabregas stories when not allot is really happening!
  2. When he first arrived he was staying at the Hilton in chilworth along with Gaston, had 2 mates working there at the time, both said Mayuka was hilarious and had a real character! Apparently playing tricks on staff etc that he got to know well during his stay.
  3. I was club wembley and it was 90% saints fans easy
  4. Has to be taken into context though surely? Osvaldo was 3rd top goal scorer in Italy probably the 3rd or 4th best league in the world & Hooper plays in Scotland. I know that doesn't mean Osvaldo is automatically better than Hooper but you can surely understand why Osvaldo would be a more exciting prospect to most?
  5. Lol, harmless fun if you ask me! Posting it online probably wasn't the smartest of moves but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it
  6. Despite the millions we spend this summer I'm pretty sure this will be our biggest summer signing, I'm soo excited about the future of this football club, for probably the first time ever I feel like we are progressing towards that elusive "next level" even after our FA cup final appearance and subsequent dip into Europe I didn't have the level of oppotimism I have now. If we add 2 more quailty players this summer and manage to maintain our squad till the start of the 2014/2015 having added another. 3-4 in next seasons summer window I'm convinced we'll be challenging the top 4
  7. All the best chappers.
  8. Honestly who cares what Hartson thinks? Good arguements can be made for & against Wanyama's move, but the facts are Wanyama has choosen us & people will have differing opionions on that... lets move on and not get hung up on that.
  9. Also just tweeted Napoli interested in Osvaldo
  10. The transfer market is quiet slow at the moment, I'd prefer us to hold out for our top targets than sign lesser players for the sake of it. We've got quiet a balanced squad that we should be looking to improve rather than add to. I think all clubs are holding their cards close to their chest as I imagine there's going to be a merry go round of top strikers in this window, no one wants to sell a top asset before they have another lined up so we're caught in a "transfer chain" where if 1 deal collapses it effects multiple other deals.
  11. I hope Billy gets a good move, i think we've treated him pretty poorly to be honest. He moved down here after an absolute tragedy, in search of a fresh start & career progression & we've given him neither. I cant understand how after 6 months he's deemed surprless to requirements and shipped out on loan without even an explanation as to why. IMHO, i dont think he'd be cut out for the premier league, but to not even be given the oppertunity to have a crack at it is unfair, he was obviously told when recruited he'd have a part to play in the Premier League otherwise he wouldnt have relocated his family at what was a very trying time for them. Yes, i think it's probably the right footballing decission, but the manor in which we've gone about that decission is poor. I'd have sooner seen him play in the reserves and given the oppertunuity to fight his way into the side last season, than forced out on loan.
  12. I dont know what the tempo is like in brazil, however i'd imagine the tempo at international level is fairly similair, 16 caps for Brazil no less. If Ricky or Jrod were Brazilain they'd get no where near the brazil squad regardless of how many high tempo games they'd played in, they'd probably be the first to admit that!!
  13. Still a massive step up in quailty for us, no disrespect to Ricky or Jrod, but Damiao is in a different league. Plus he is only 23 so that could change as he matures. For me, this signing is as much about signing quailty players as it is about signalling our intent. It shows other players we're in for that we mean business and could open the flood gates. Man City needed to sign Robinho to get the ball rolling
  14. Paul Telfer, everyone hated him but me, always workmen like. Even when he was having a shocker he never hid away. Even played champions league football after his spell with us!
  15. Would snap your hand off for Huddlestone at £5 million, massively underated! Fantastic technique!
  16. To be honest, with the kind of money being suggested for Hooper I'd rather move for a proven striker in the prem like Darren Bent, I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but you can't argue with his scoring record in the premiership. Hooper, despite his record in the SPL, is an unknown in the EPL and there's a marked difference in the quality of opposition. I'd of course welcome someone with such a fantastic scoring record, but I don't think it would be an "exciting" signing
  17. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8791621/Celtic-star-Victor-Wanyama-is-waiting-to-open-talks-with-Cardiff-City comments from his agent above suggest the deal has been dead for 2 weeks, could be just agent talk but I suspect this is why we've been linked with both Banega & Nainggolan in recent weeks, both of whom I understand are defensive midfielders. I can’t see us signing 3 defensive midfielders, so I suspect it'll be 1 from Wanyama, Nainggolan, Banega or an as yet undisclosed player. Can’t say I have seen any of them play, but my preference if we're spending £12 million+ would be to sign a player who has played most consistently in the most competitive league I believe we're looking to sign 4-5 players this summer A defender - Completed A Midfielder - A Wide player - Striker -
  18. Signed a new contract at City 2 weeks ago http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/01/manchester-city-confirm-micah-richards-and-pablo-zabaleta-to-sign-new-contracts-3824616/
  19. Using a free translator Diego Castro is one of the most sought-after players of Getafe and there are teams interested in signing him: Seville and Southampton. The Andalusian club denies it, but would have thought of it as a possible substitute Jesus Navas, player who has marched to the Arsenal. Diego Castro, although he is right-handed, played interchangeably by either band, still even more common on the left side. The other person concerned are the English of the Southampton team training with Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine coach has requested the hiring of Diego Castro, who knows of his period on the bench of Espanyol. Recently, Diego Castro spoke of his future before the holidays: 'I am open to all possibilities, here in Spain or other experiences, but I signed a long contract with Getafe and here I am happy and quiet'. Diego Castro (30 years) has a contract in force until 2015 and is one of the mainstays of the Getafe. President Angel Torres expects concrete offers: 'If you finally arrive, sit and negotiate'. 20. Not sure why Beattie is getting hammered? I've meet him on a number of occasions at charity events and found him a likeable character. Good for him on making the move into management, I personally hope he has massive success. As others have said though, can't believe some even entertained the idea of sharps moving to acc
  21. I'd expected to see these players leave regardless of contract, with a few youth players added into the mix Billy Sharp Dean Hammond Frazer Richardson Danny Seaborne Richard Chaplow Danny Butterfield Steve De Ridder Tommy Forecast Ryan Dickson Aaron Martin Lee Barnard Jonathan Forte Tadanari Lee
  22. I'll drive him up there myself if we'd get £20 million for Lallana
  23. Swansea 1-2 Win - Swanseas form is poor, they're already in europe and have nothing to play for, i expect a good game of football but feel we have momentum West Brom 1-0 Win - They Drew away at Stoke & then lost to West Ham away in their last 2 away league games, again their season is over. A poor game with a goal seperating the sides... Spurs 3-1 Loss - They simply have to win if they want to get champions league, they lack out and out strikers but have quailty everywhere else. They have too much pace in their side and we'll struggle! Sunderland 2-0 Loss - They'll be a different side after the derby win, they're not much better than us but I think this will be a game they'll be up for. This win will see them mathmatically safe and they'll make sure they get it. Stoke 2-1 Win - Depending on whether Stoke have to win to stay up, if they do then the result could go either way
  24. Maya is the best CB we've had at this club since Michael Svensson. Our best summer signing by a country mile! Will be one of 4-5 players I'll be considering as player of the season.... Maya Lambert Punch Spiderman Cork
  25. Think he wanted to play elsewhere but other clubs couldnt afford his wages, so we were asked to either buy out his remaining contract to let him leave or subsidise his wages at another club but we refused, it was put down as a "Business decission" I suspect the pay rises he got when we got promoted twice over put him in that situation. If he was on £3000 a week when he signed he's probably on nearly £4500 now, thats nearly an extra £80k a year. For someone who potentially will be out of work at 35 & who will never earn that kind of money again you can hardly blame him. We all have financial commitments to meet. Just because he's a footballer & on good money doesnt make his commitments any less pressing than ours. If he was on 10-15k a week it would be different, but I highly doubt that!
