He's krocked ;-) we got out at the right time!

We can only really assess at the end of the transfer window, players may have to leave to facilitate the fees of those coming in. The order things are done are not important its the end result, I'll hold the board accountable if at the end of August we haven't replaced any or all of the players. Until then you just got to go with the flow.

£16 Million is a ridiculous fee for a Second Choice right back. I will be disappointed if he leaves, thought he'd progress to be a decent Center Back.

From what I have seen of Pelle he looks a marked improvement on Lambert. Very Similar in style but more effective, great support play but has the pace to join the attacks, very Mobile. I Like him, Targett looks good too. Isgroves working hard and took his goal well. Centre backs worry me a little, but I think its Inevitable we'll strengthen there. I'd bring in 2 CBs, another striker, a winger, a left back & a goalkeeper

The money is Southampton Football clubs, the Liebherrs own the club but it's a completely separate legal entity. Directors can of course take dividends payments but they have a legal obligation to ensure the business is run correctly, clubs don't pay transfer fees directly into the owners bank account

Pretty shocking that from Saints, we should be keeping Corks dad informed.

Didn't Guan say that he was concerned that the player we were targeting to replace Lovern was a little ambitious, could match up if its Rojo

Quailty football post on a Football forum shocker! Thanks mate

It's like the 2014 version of has Skacel Signed Yet... Has Lovern Gone Yet??
-
To be fair I thought that last year and made the mistake of putting ricky van wolfswinkel in my dream team. It's impossible to tell really until a ball is kicked who has done the best business. I thought Spurs signed genuine quality last summer yet it turns out they were all ineffective

Where do they play? The kids go to braishfield school, assuming they use the green behind that?

Are Tadic and Pelle upgrades on Lallana and Lambert?
Dan Johnson replied to simo's topic in The Saints
Both Lallana & Lambert had at least 4 years of productive service each, both contributed massively to where we are now. We've had those 4 years to get to know their strengths and their weaknesses. Without a similar time frame it's impossible to judge, even after next season we won't know. If we stay in the premier league and pelle scores only 3 then everyone will say no, however if in the two seasons after that he contributes 20+ goals a season then it'll be a yes. I'm certain they'll both be better technically, they've both played at higher levels on a more consistent basis comparatively. -
This, he said why would they trust another club to develop our younger players when we invest so heavily in it. He did say there were some circumstances where it could be beneficial and I suppose centre backs & goalkeepers benefit from competitive game time more than any other positions, however, may suggest he's not developed as they would have hoped.

Lovern posted a picture on his twitter yesterday in an airport so assume he's flying to meet us for pre season. He could have flown directly to Belgium and could be meeting the team out there? Looks like the door is open for him to stay. I know Koeman said "there's a contract in the table" pretty sure he was referring to the fact he needs to honour his exsisting contract but for me he needs to show commitment to us by signing a new contract and apologising in public if he is to stay

Remember when Matt Oakley was injured for ages, the longer he was out the better he became? Maybe that's the same with Jrod, I know it's close season but he's been out what, 3 months? Come Christmas he could be as good as Suarez, if we're bottom or struggling he might even be as good as Ronaldo!

Personally I've not seen enough of him to have an opinion. Thought he looked unfit in his championship season with us, despite scoring all those goals. Seem to remember reports at the time stating he wasn't up to the fitness standard expected at Saints For me his build doesn't look conducive to being a premier league footballer, his asset is clearly his strength when I think the premier league requires better mobility, however that's not to say he can't be a success and he'd earned his right for an opportunity in our first season. I think he was treated appallingly by the club, I know football is a harsh business and there's no room for sentiment but he moved his young family down here at a very tough time in their life personally after losing a child. After the goals he scored to get us into the premier league the club seemed to just cast him aside. Everyone deserved the opportunity to have a shot in the premier league, now unfortunately 2 seasons later everyone's expectations are considerably higher than they were in our first season, where survival was seen as an achievement. I'm sure he'd be the unwitting scapegoat if after being given his opportunity he had scored very little come Christmas time or worse still not scored at all. If he is given the chance I will give him my backing 100%

Frankly I'm relaxed about who stays and who goes and who we sign. I'll be disappointed if Lovern & Schniderlin also leave as I've enjoyed watching them, but I won't lose any sleep over it, even if they're not replaced. I'll be optimistic that whoever we sign can offer something to the team as our transfer record over the last 5 years has been more hit than miss, but I won't rant and rave if no ones signed, if we do get players I won't judge on transfer fee or till I've seen them play. I really do just enjoy football in it's purest form. 11 vs 11, whether we field 11 internationals or 11 from the academy. Whether we win or lose I don't care, my only hope is that we compete and I'm entertained.

I'm 31, Koeman is still a huge respected name in football. If you haven't heard of Koeman it's because you're not a football fan!

Has he signed yet...

Like it, best kit we have had in the Libeher era. Won’t buy it though, but don’t buy replica shirts

In all seriousness, I don’t think there's a club in England where players wouldn’t be tempted to move to Real or Barcelona, they're the two biggest clubs in the world for me. They also have better weather... no matter how many leagues Man City\Man Utd\Liverpool win the way of life in those cities is incomparable to the Spanish life style. Players maybe more tempted by Chelsea & Arsenal because of the lifestyle London can offer, still don’t think it's a big enough draw for players who are more accustomed to a better climate. They should be grateful they got an extra season out of Suarez, he was clearly after a move last summer. While it is somewhat satisfying that a big club experiences the same disappointment we do when we lose a player, it also highlights that it is and always will be a sellers’ market to 99.9% of clubs not matter how illustrious your history maybe. Loyalty from fans should always be to a club & not to a player
-
Absolutely, those trademark grass cutter shots won’t go down well. When you consider the fee for what is really only 1 good season in the premier league it’s certainly not the end of the world.
-
That's because of transfer fees though, buying out the contract is supposed to mitigate that ****ing over.
