  1. I can live with being a simpleton. I've had worse insults....
  2. Thing is,I go in Block 1/2 regularly, and it takes an age to get through the turnstiles as it is, and a large proportion of people in these blocks usually miss kick-off as it is. This is undeniably partly due to a lot of people leaving the pubs too late (guilty as charged myself on this), but also the scanning system regularly doesn't recognise the tickets / membership cards. I guess that increased searches were inevitable anyway after Paris, but people are going to have to start getting to the ground at 2.30pm to guarantee seeing kick-off, what with the problems with the scanners.
  3. Wasn't it put back by a couple of hours due to the Arsenal Boxing Day game being put back a few hours for TV? Hence also Arsenal v Boscombe also being delayed to be played at the same time as our game at West Ham.
  4. Sports Mania was excellent for me yesterday, both for the Saints and Boscombe games.
  5. The True Geordie is superb. Though usually far better when the Barcodes have been stuffed.
  6. "Move along sonny". Consider myself having been properly told there by a keyboard warrior. Comedy genius.
  7. You're glad we didn't win. Absolute tool.
  8. Matthew Le God was trying to belittle me over the summer when I dared to suggest on here that Vardy was a properly decent striker, I seem to vaguely recall.
  9. There was a very fit dibble lady in Arnhem as well. Can't do a Rule 1 though, sorry.
  10. Aye. Is that Radders taking pics again???
  11. Well, that's just cheered me right up.
  12. I was stood quite near this chap in the ground in Denmark, and oddly he was as quiet as a mouse there. Perhaps he lost his voice outside the pub. Still, at least he got a quite fit Danish bird to interview him. For about 30 seconds, I was actually quite jealous of him.
  13. If that female steward had kicked him in the gonads, it would have been up there with Cantona's assault on that Palace fan helmet. Just totally embarrassing.
  14. Tadic isn't as skilful, but gives the ball away less, I'd say. I'm no great fan of either player, but have to admit that Tadic has a decent ratio of end product to his game.
  15. I note that none of the chocolate bar protagonists appear to be on here defending their actions, so I can only presume they are yet to come home from school.
  16. Cringeworthy is a very diplomatic way of describing it. Like a mass primary school outing in the second-half.
  17. Steve, where is your favourite Italian banker nowadays?
  18. My tickets are lower tier. No idea if that means we've sold out the upper tier.
  19. Yup. Smartphones are great things, but when muppets spend the whole game on them it kills the atmosphere. I was stood next to one such idiot at Denmark. He seemed offended by me trying to loudly support the team and spent most of the game looking at this message board on his phone. Complete tool.
  20. Sorry if already mentioned, but something else which does not help the atmosphere one iota at away games is the utterly horrific green away kit. YELLOWS!! YELLOWS!!
  21. I dare say there may be statistical evidence to prove your theory. However, in my (possibly misguided) opinion, I think that as fans we feel far more involved with the team, and also show a fair bit of pride in our team, if we can make as big a racket as possible. Yes, it's great to sell out our away allocation, but we could make a bit more noise. I remember the snowy midweek away game up at West Brom (Prutton etc) when we made a non-stop racket all game. Admittedly there was far more riding on the game, but we gave excellent support that night. Though I guess you could argue the result on the pitch was still the same.....
  22. My take on it is that Saints fans have never been hugely proactive in terms of vocal support. We tend to rely on the team to give us something to get excited about, rather than vice versa. Some people will doubtless quote Newcastle at home in 1995 when we scored 3 in the last 5 minutes after the tannoy announcement for the Archers to sit down, and 1 or 2 others from over the years. But in general we are "sing when we're winning" types. Thought our support was poor yesterday. But the game didn't help.
  23. Really? Is this true? Where did you see this??
  24. Who was the complete weirdo in our end towards the back with the dark sunglasses? Given that he seemed to be spending much of the game looking at this message board on his phone, I presume he's on here. Beyond me why you would travel all that way to watch a game and then faff about on your phone. Still, whatever floats your boat and all that.
