Agreed. I live in Poole and work in Basingstoke, and it's a nightmare. If you're driving from Southampton, I'd be inclined to come off the M27 at Junction 1, and take the road to Lyndhurst and then on to Christchurch. It is quite a detour, but you won't spend so long queueing. Either way, I'd be looking to get the train if I was a Saints fan at this game.

I struggle to see him getting many games at Arsenal. I'm sure Wenger will have noted his disciplinary record this season, and Arsenal aren't exactly short of midfielders. I suspect that if Arsenal had signed Alderweireld in the summer, they would have virtually won the League by now.

Frankly I'm surprised that Matthew Le God has the temerity to post on football messageboards after I stated on this board last summer that Jamie Vardy was a proper striker, and he was highly sceptical. His general "I know more than anybody else" attitude is utterly bereft of credibility.

Totally agree with this. A couple of good players from the Championship (I'd suggest from Leeds) would freshen things up a bit. I think it's unrealistic to expect Charlie Austin to be coming to Saints.

This used to be my back-up option if Sports Mania was playing up, but it seems to have become a different site now, and isn't accepting my username / password combo. And won't let me reset my password, as it doesn't recognise my E-mail address. Looks like it may be the end of the road for that option. Shame, as it was decent.

Really can't see it. Morgan is one of the best midfielders in Europe. Was at the Arnhem away game and talking to some locals, they couldn't see Clasie being a success in the Prem. In their view he was too slow and too small to make an impact. I've watched a lot of the Eredvisie on SKY. I could tell from watching this that he clearly has an eye for a pass, and a lot of Feyenoord's goals came from his assists. However the Prem demands an all-action game that I don't think he is capable of.

We need to be looking at players from the Championship to sign in January, as we did with Clyne and Rodriguez when we came back up to the Prem. The players we brought in to the club in the summer were poor signings, with the exception of Stekelenberg. VVD is OK on the ball, but a liability at the back. January will tell us a lot about Koeman and his vision for Saints.

I love standing in the Itchen Corner. On a good day against a half-decent set of away fans, it's absolutely brilliant in there, we could do with just a few more singers in there though.

Thing is,I go in Block 1/2 regularly, and it takes an age to get through the turnstiles as it is, and a large proportion of people in these blocks usually miss kick-off as it is. This is undeniably partly due to a lot of people leaving the pubs too late (guilty as charged myself on this), but also the scanning system regularly doesn't recognise the tickets / membership cards. I guess that increased searches were inevitable anyway after Paris,but people are going to have to start getting to the ground at 2.30pm to guarantee seeing kick-off, what with the problems with the scanners.

Wasn't it put back by a couple of hours due to the Arsenal Boxing Day game being put back a few hours for TV? Hence also Arsenal v Boscombe also being delayed to be played at the same time as our game at West Ham.

Sports Mania was excellent for me yesterday, both for the Saints and Boscombe games.

Well, that's just cheered me right up.

I was stood quite near this chap in the ground in Denmark, and oddly he was as quiet as a mouse there. Perhaps he lost his voice outside the pub. Still, at least he got a quite fit Danish bird to interview him. For about 30 seconds, I was actually quite jealous of him.

If that female steward had kicked him in the gonads, it would have been up there with Cantona's assault on that Palace fan helmet. Just totally embarrassing.

Tadic isn't as skilful, but gives the ball away less, I'd say. I'm no great fan of either player, but have to admit that Tadic has a decent ratio of end product to his game.
