Our fans are generally a pretty well-behaved bunch, but if i was Vitesse and the local dibble, I'd be getting pretty nervous about what seems to be a fairly significant number of tickets having been sold to fans living in England. They'd probably be better off stopping home fans from buying in blocks 120- 122, so that it can be a dedicated overflow area for Saints fans. Not sure what they'd do about the concourses at half-time though........

I would suggest that a CM, CB and back-up RB (if we somehow sign Alderweireld then that's the last two of these sorted at a stroke) are far bigger priorities than another striker. I like Austin, but Koeman's clearly a big fan of Pelle, so unless Pelle is injured, then Austin would be on the bench if he came to us. He'd be better off at Boscombe, in truth.

I always thought Austin would sign for Newcastle. He'd be guaranteed to start for them, and could be a real hero for them. A virtual no-brainer.

So how much would it cost, as a SKY TV and non BT broadband customer, to have BT Sport Europe in HD without the rest of the BT Sport channels?

I'll probably just watch the BT Sport stuff on Offside Streams, but like The9, I'm hoping to be at most of our Europa League games, and it would have been nice to be able to record them, which isn't really an option on the streaming sites!!!

Presumably that's the non-HD price (?). Probably about £20 a month in HD.

Your obsession with players' age is baffling. Vardy didn't score against Saints in April, but he was Leicester's best player on the day by a distance. Bullied Fonte and Alderweireld like hardly anybody else did all season.

Hunger, pace, fair bit of ability. He battered our defence up there in April. I think he'll score a lot more goals next season. Not quite sure what age has to do with it, by the way.

One season for a team who were bottom of the league until the last few weeks of the season. You know by watching certain players whether they have it in them to progress to the next level, rather than just relying on statistics. Vardy's clearly got it, it's a big shame we didn't get him when we were linked with him when he was at Fleetwood and Saints were in the Championship.

Agree. I doubt he'd be that hungry. Think it was Alex Ferguson who said never to sign players on their way down. He's played for Arsenal and Barca, would he really be that motivated to reallly make a difference to Saints?

Vardy is a better centre-forward than Welbeck. And possibly Ings as well.

I think Austin has a lot more mobility than Rickie ever had. I do really rate Austin as a finisher, I think he's a really top striker. As is Vardy (though Austin is more clinical). Both their England call-ups are richly deserved.

Berahino is a bad egg. Avoid like the plague, I'd suggest.

I did raise some concerns about this last week, and thought at the time that quite a few Saints fans might be in for a bit of a nasty shock, given most of the replies, which were along the lines of there being very little chance of Jose leaving. Personally, I am surprised by very little nowadays. Though getting Alderweireld to sign for us would be a bit stunning.
