  1. I'm worried too, what if we end up meeting Chelsea in The Champions League Final in 2014 and its in somewhere like Istanbul , would cause massive transport problems, surely they would be better off holding it at Wembley or something....?
  2. Sisa agm
  3. agreed, he aint that good otherwise someone would have come in for him and he would have gone, good players dont sit on the bench in the prime of their careers
  4. have to agree with all of that, especially not letting the likes of people who dont even go comment on stuff that they didnt even see.
  5. if you were tere I think you wouldn't have come out with that rubbish
  6. sounds like too much hard work...
  7. I am with you on this argument. At the end of the day it is the chairman/CEO/owner who must have the final say. Surely it goes like this: Manager identifies player he wants and says to chairman he is going to cost £xxxxxx on the fee and maybe about £xx per week in wages (because by then he has already spoken wiyth the player's agent) Chairman agrees in principal Chairman sorts out other club with permission to speak etc and agrees fee etc... Manager meets player and tells chairman, Yes, we need him Chairman meets players agent etc and sorts out wages etc Clearly, if the agent then says, actually, we want £xxx per week, then at this point the chairman says no The chairman says no, manager a bit miffed but thats that or the player signs with the chairmans approval At which point is the manager responsible for the club finances? Clearly, if the player is crap, then that is a different story..
  8. I was under the impression Redknapp missed out to Strachan, had an interview etc
  9. I'd have to agree there, even though i have put a case forward that he could have done a job for us (and probably (on management abilities..arguably) could do a better one with money), after all that has gone on, if he ever came back, it would be very, very hard to go SMS. I can't wait until one day we get Spurs, and there is only one chant and thats "Twitch in a minute....He's gonna twitch in a minute, .....Twitch in a minute.....", its funny and even better he really hates it, actually became very upset about it, can't ****ing wait!
  10. we appointed WGS over Redknapp, common knowledge that he had an interview and at that time he was well up for it, but obviously Strachan got the nod. I remeber when we beat the Skates (might have been the cup game) and he was quoted as saying what a big club we were with the faciliies, ground etc, etc and no comparrison to portsmouth (obviously before the Russian came on board), and he'd love to have it there. You always had the feeling that this was the job he always wanted after WHU but by the time he got it, we were were in trouble on the pitch and heading for plenty offit, thanks to RL and his visions. Lets face it, you get the job you want (theres no way he walked out down the road without having SMS lined up) and then your boss brings in someone above you that has no experience of that field, you are told to play the kids when they aint ready and your transfer requests are blocked. He is a moany, whingy old git but working under Lowe? Well. who wouldn't be? Lets say we get to the PL, and we have lots of cash, HCDAJFU?
  11. Even though i hate Redknapp (for various reasons including him calling me a "scruffy bastard" once outside SMS (I did call him a "Skate bastard" mind), you cannot help thinking (and knowing) that he was doing the job with one and a half hands tied behind his back. Lets face it, if it wasn't for RL and his 90,000 budget to get us back to the PL and his attempt to get SCW on board over Redknapp who knows where we might have gone under Redknapp. Begrudingly he seems to do a good job almost everywhere, needs money though and clearly has no morals (couldn't believe it when he turned up in the sesspit's town hall to collect the 'freedom of the city' after walking out on them, the arrogance of the man is astounding) and he constantly ****s me off when he whines about other fans having a song about this or that etc. He is a smug chancer that likes to collect brown paper envelopes but , he does bloody good job at this football management lark!
  12. thats a good shout!
  13. Dont think Linekar played in The PL (its not Premiership by the way, used to be for a couple of seasons at the start i think)
  14. Les ferdinanad
  15. booked two balcony boxes, tickets seem to be the same prices?? Never been in those fancy boxes, take along a few customers
  16. I do remember going to Boro on a night game, course it was cold and yes, not many there if i remember so it could well have been that one. There was also Sundrland away on New Years day, at the old Roker Park, think Kevin Ball scored the only goal. I have to say that they really were the good old days when football was football and players were people and fans were proper fans and not here for the prawn sandwiches or 'kids for quid' games. Still never went by train though, except to London games like QPR, cause you had to really.
  17. yeah, that is true, we were clearly the only fans that did travel that night though!
  18. Norwich away, weds night, 88 fans, ZDS, might have been the year we won it, though reckon it could have been previous year, made plymouth away in the same comp with a World class save from Tim. After reading some opinions on here about the seats and in reflection, it is a **** poor reason, hold my hands up to that one, just aint got the enthusiasm as i did when watching the likes of MLT, Shearer, Case etc etc, maybe thats a reflection on todays game
  19. good one...
  20. good for you mate, clearly you are the most loyal and bestest fan around and you like to prove that by name dropping some geographically awkward places to go to. My record is 110 games home and away consecutively (norwich away on a weds in the zds being one), where do i rank? probably low down because i didnt go by train perhaps? If there was a super fan award i'm sure you'd win it, if there was a 'big head patronising super fan', well you'd get my vote.
  21. think you have missed the crucial point here, no one is arguing that NC was effectively right in what his point was, and that he was trying to do us a favour etc. but the real point is the words he used which you have conveniently not commented on.
  22. yeah, you're right but you have deleted my point about the word 'mong', so you clearly do not tolerate racist, homophobic abuse but you are saying its alright to call someone a spastic on this forum, yeah?
  23. Listen, if NC has said it how it was then fine, but saying stuff like "they were trying to line their own pockets...", well I dont think thats right, he didn't need to add those sort of comments on really. Its not a case of supporting another teams management as you put, its just it wasnt so long ago that we were collecting money to stay afloat, not every club has the resources that we do and you cant blame them for trying to cash in on a big draw for them.
  24. so to be a 'true' supporter you have to go by train? Give it up mate!
  25. yeah, might happen and then we'll all be wanting to go, thats football supporters for you. Good luck to you if you want to go every game come what may, used to be like that myself back in the 90's (glad it was then and not now), but to have a go at people who say their reason for not going, well....
