  1. Pretty much every team suffers injuries and like I said we were really lucky last year to avoid injuries, sure we ha d a few (Cork at the start, Lallana round X-mas) but week in week out we were lucky. Therefore 9 for the 5 roles is great cover. And of those I would only say MS was our only 'key' player. But if you read what I said I did not mention 'key' players.
  2. I dont get thi 'where will it leave Cork/Davis' opinion. It is a squad game. Sure, obviously we will have our starting, strongest 11. But last eason we were soooo lucky that MS kept fit, most teams have many players out at once, I think we were pretty lucky last year. Generally now in the modern game midfielders can be split into Defensive and Attacking rather than central and wide. I agree David is the one who maybe fluctuates between both, but he put in some good performances last year and I think would be a loss. Morgan, Wanyama, Cork, Ramirez, Punch, Rodriguez, Lallana, Davis, Banega is a HELL of a midfield/options. That is 9 players for 5 roles, a decent rotation number IMO. I would however send JWP out on loan to a championship club,,,, not becasue is is not good enough be this it would be good for his development to play a 40 game season. Do Prado (although I am not a basher of him) looks now to be out his depth and think would be a great signing for a championship club or somewhere of that level across Europe.
  3. Im midlands based (Brum) but dont do to many games due to funds, will be going to WBA first game with my bro though. Hope you settle in COventry ok, if you single you are a lucky fella,,,, not sure why but Coventry girls tend to be hot,,, I dont get it, you would not think it, but they are.
  4. Funny, Billy Sharp would be silly to not go to a Champions league team and a team most likely to win their league! They were last 16 in the champions league last year. Bigger than Saints. Only reason we can lure their players is because we are in the EPL, if they were they would be massive! (HAND IN FACE GUY THAT YOU LOVE)
  5. WBA I think will be forced to strengthen. They have been very tight with the pennies in recent years and rightly so, a very well run club, but with the loss of Lukaku this year, not much depth (when Yacob and Muloumbu were out they really suffered) I think they will struggle unless they bring in two or three decent signings. No way will they finish top 8 again, their form from Jan was religation form ( except for that embarrassing win against us). Norwich , with the signings they have made on top of a few reliable players should be fine, Swansea should do well, seemed to go off pace after the cup final but they should be fine. Everton for me will drop a few places and Liverpool too if they loose Suarez. Really really really looking forward to this season, with the changes at the top of the league and the 'smaller' clubs investing in some decent talent should be a great season.
  6. Dream world would be 4 new signings if we want to push top 6 this season,,,, Another centre back , who could also cover at rb if injuries occurred. (Astori or Alderweireld) Banega A nippy winger (Stoch) A striker (Osvaldo, Damieo) But more realistically would be two more, let some of the kids cover this season and then build again next season.... Also anyone see Everton may be in for McGeady? 6 mil appartently, I have only seen the guy 3 times but everytime impressed me, does not seem to be our sort of signing but would be interested to hear others thoughts on the guy...
  7. Best value player we had in the last 3 years maybe. Always put in a good shift and not just that but also a talented footballer and seemed to be a good bloke. Best of luck for the rest of his career!
  8. Joking apart... I saw this on twitter and first thing I thought was that this has been handeled by a man. All 4 women above average looks, good bodies. Im not saying all female football fans are ugly, overweight, but a nice cross section would be nice and maybe a photoshoot with some real saints fans. Typical (Insert man with hand on his face as seen on 100% of 110_persaint's posts).
  9. Mina Rzouki ‏@Minarzouki 26m Napoli willing to go up to €22m to close the deal for Leandro Damiao. The player is pushing to move there. She knows her stuff, rarely posts transfer goss and the best on the world football phone in alone with the legendino. Anyone else listen to the show?
  10. T Bone Burnett - T Bone Burnett More a legend than a band - The Flatlanders Live at San Quentin - Johnny Cash Grevious Angel - Gram Parsons Best of Volume 2 - Earl Scruggs Revue
  11. Call me crazy but with the people we are being linked too, Flamini would be great, although now with Wanyama and Schniders woulod strugle to get in! ha. Think he is a great player though, said he wants to come back to the premier league.
  12. Give it 1/2 years and Clyne will be ahead of Walker no probs. Also IMHO Lambert is better than both Defoe and Ady.
  13. People on this thread /forum talk like we are a top 6 club! Baird would be great back up, and especially could help shaws progression. Shaw has bags of energy, pace, strength, and an experienced head to help guide him will only be usful. I would not mind him at the club at all.
  14. In 1950 I bet the forum was filled with posters saying 'but black shorts are just not Southampton'.
  15. Oh good, I get the reference now, thanks. Still confused as to why Kurt from Coronation Street is there though? :S
  16. I recognise it, but what was it in reference too?
  17. Were there not enough kit threads already for you to vent. Its a kit, in my opinion its so I can easily see the difference in the teams. And the kids seem to like the kit as they looked happy enough in them on the pics in twitter.
  18. My FAVOURITE (not best, just my favs) team would be... Neimi Dodd Svensson Monkou Benali Ormerod Tessem Marsden Matt Le Tiss Lambert Pahars
  19. Matt Le Tissier, but also a mention to Pahars. Loved that little fellow.
  20. It is down to money, Falcao,Rodreiguez etc just signed for Monaco, a team in the french league, not in Europe, were in league 2 last year, start the season on -2 points, could be damned from the french league next year.
  21. In honour of the new kit I propose that the forum changes its colours from red and white to all red.
  22. I dont get how it is a bad kit? Sure if you want stripes then fine, but its just a red kit with white arms. I like the away too. Shaw's is tight.
  23. Shaw's top is very tight,,,, like Italy style tight. I dont mind both. Like the away. At the end of the day though Im not too bothered about stripes, never been a big fan of them anyway.
