  1. Lukaku for under 17 would be nice.
  2. Wanyama for me, he is only 21. I do however think if we get him he will take time to adapt to playing big game after big game , week in week out, as opposed to a few champ league games. But I think having watched him (admitidly 4-5 time) that he could go on to be great. 6'2, good on the ball, strong and can pick out a pass well. Dont know much about Benega and know nothing about the other guy.... but he is Belgium and they are the hipsters choice at the mo.
  3. Yup, agreed, but we def need cover, esp at right back. Looking at the free transfer list there are not too many defenders on there, Baird is a free ( can play almost anywhere at the back, great utility player) and Danny SImpson is the other choice, but he would want to be a starter I would imagine. But we def need cover, Shaw or Clyne get a long lay off and then we are in trouble, no matter who we have upfront or how much we spend on midfielders or strikers.
  4. Hilarious that in this day and age 'leaked' pics are always such bad quality, either out of focus or trimed off... this is both. I guarantee that if any of us took a pic of a shirt it would be fine to use, this is crappy and possibly fake.
  5. A Lyon fan I know who is french and lives in Lyon said to me... 'I like Dejan, he hasn’t been playing lately.., but I don’t see him as a bad player. (you are lucky to have him playing in your team now)' She was sad to see him go.
  6. Oh, ha, I thought if was some FIFA player rating with the best players in the world. I dont go in for all that computer game crap, fifa 13 is for kids. Champ man 2001/2002 for me.
  7. What is this fifa rating thing? On the fifa website?
  8. Im based in Brum and sit next to a season ticket holder baggie fan. Q1. What are your opinions on Southampton's season so far - has it gone how you expected? Great, very happy. Q2. What are your opinion on WBA's season so far? - Have we exceeded your expectations? Solid but obviously slowed down, Mulumbu and Yacob key. Q3. You made a controversial change not so long ago. What are your thoughts on MP and what difference has he made to your side? Dubious at first, but the big wins won me over, would like to see a few more results now going forward against teams around us. Q4. What are your opinions on West Bromwich Albion Football Club and its supporters? Very good chairman, looks after the club financially, not one to splash millions on one player and seems to hire managers who have the same ethos in mind, much like swansea at the mo. and the fans seem to be a good lot. Q5. Peter Odemwingie became a laughing stock during the transfer window. What did you make of his antics and how our club dealt with it? He is a gobby idiot, and think Baggies handeled it well. He got racist stick in Russia and these antics make me think there was more too it than just skin colour. NEVER an excuse for racism but maybe he did something that ment the fans tried to get at him. Q6. The game at The Hawthorns finished 2-0. What were your opinions on this game? You were solid, Mulumbu and Yacob key. Q7. Which players should we be wary of in your side and who do you fear in our side? See above. Also I like J. Thomas, but thats just me. Q8. What side is MP most likely to choose for Saturday's encounter? Q9. And finally, score predictions. 3-0 saints.
  9. Good to see we could in theory actually field an all english team,,,, most teams in the EPL could not. Although its great to sign the odd star from abroad, still is greaet to have local or at least english talent in the ranks.
  10. Prehaps but not all of those players are usless. Chaplow, Hammond more than did their bit to get us back to the prem.
  11. Never hated Pompy, I see the rivalry as just something fun, I spose Im not from southampton and that's why. i HATE liverpool, everything about that club, cant stand them. Also dislike anywhere 'Arry is , so that's QPR at the mo.
  12. Great team selection, Clyne at left back and Rodriguez gets a start. I think that it is important to reward people who do well in the cup games, it will make fringe players believe that if that put in a good performance in the cup then they may play in the prem game.
  13. Trying Yoshi at left back?
  14. Agreed a great club captain, he is certainly going to have to fight for his place now, but 'screwed' is the the word. You could have picked a better word. He is almost 36 and only top top keepers usually play that long, he will be phased out but that is not a bad thing, his name will stand proudly next to a list of quality saints keepers, shilton, flowers, jones, neimi, wright (p.s thats a joke).
  15. That comparison is boring, over-used, lazy and wrong. Holt is a good player but they only compare the two because of their history in the lower leagues.
  16. There are always certain players , although don't play a massive part in saints history, that I have a soft spot for and BB was one. I hope he goes on to bigger and better things eventually as he is still pretty young for a keeper.
  17. While I love Lambert, not just for his goals, but his touch, passing and vision ( I think he has been quality ever since we had him and always knew he could do well at the top level), he now is 30 and therefore I think that stands against him more than anything. If he was carrolls age he should be picked ahead of him. People will compare him to Carroll but as most Saints fans know he plays more like Sheringham. AS long as he plays for saints I dont really care who else he plays for although at least one cap for him would be nice.
  18. He posted this before Sharp went. God you are depressing. I dont even come on the boards that much and I know to avoid your crap.
  19. So they're not Brad Pitt...
  20. Well, we didn't keep a clean sheet! We need Center Backs!
  21. True and Flecter, and Carroll etc etc etc,,, but also compared to Michu, Ba, etc seems a lot. Time will tell I spose.
  22. Yup, its one guy, the rest of the peeps seem sound. Really interesting to see what others think of us. I liked this post... ''They've actually signed; nathaniel clyne - many predicted he'd be signing for an established prem club when he finally moved from Palace Steven Davies - a player who is what I'd call a SAFC/villa/Fulham standard player so good move by Saints Mayuka - top scorer at the African cup of nations for tournament winners Zambia Yoshida - Japan international centre back Admittedly jay Rodriguez was a silly fee but I'm sure that was just Southampton making an earlier signal of intent as it was done right at the start of the window. They've also had a fee agreed for gaston Ramirez a player some of the best clubs in the world were after and very nearly signed buttner but the deal fell through who ended up at man united. Does that sound like a team who's not trying to stay up and isn't ambitious. Give your head a shake OP you've had a mare!'' When put like that does seem like we have signed well and in smart, not just throwing money around on anyone (yes, qpr and whu, im looking at you).
  23. Yeah, god forbid the club sell more tickets and fill the stadium with people who actually like to have fun.
  24. I dont get why the club does not do a deal for match day sponsor ship and then plain shirts for sale. Sure the sponsor would pay a bit less, but they still get their product on tv,,, thats the big one,,, and then the club will prob sell more shirts,,, I mean who wants to walk round being a walking billboard, most shirts the sponsor is bigger than the club logo.
  25. Yup, generally agree with most. We played well but needed to be a bit more proactive nearer the goal, their keeps did well but they were mainly long shots and had a lot of time to see them on their way. Overall a good performance if not the best result, on another day we could have won 2-0.
