He was brilliant tonight. Top player.
-
Yup, definitely should have kept him, he's a brilliant midfielder. Our own fault though, and we've taken a gamble. Would love to have him available next season once Morgan goes.
-
Davis is excellent at what he does, but he does need the right players around him, he's a link player, a good 3rd CM to have when you're on the back foot. I don't think the players around him at the moment are technical enough, Long, Mane, Pelle aren't particularly great technically, but they're all good in their own way. He's a tidy player and we do miss him when he doesn't play, but he's never going to get many goals cos he can't finish his dinner.

Would happily take Trippier to replace Clyne, think he's a brilliant RB.
-
Surely that isn't correct....that's only about 30 games between them?
-
Don't think there is much in it tbh.

Amazing how much change has happened in the last 12 months. This was our "best" team last season. ----------------Boruc-------------- Clyne---Lovren----Fonte---Shaw -----Schneiderlin-Wanyama----- Davis--------Lallana-----Rodriguez --------------Lambert------------- This year: ----------------Forster-------------- Clyne---Alderweireld----Fonte---Bertrand ----------Schneiderlin-Wanyama----- Mane------------Davis----------------Tadic -------------------Pelle------------- Arguably Shaw, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert were all better than what we've currently got. (Yes I know JRod is still ours but not counting him this year cos he hasn't played!) Although they are similar, and we have got more points this year, I have to say that I think we were better last year. Stronger defensively this year, but we were far better to watch last, far more exciting going forward. If they played each other, who would win? I think last years....
-
Gaston is better than him, and I wouldn't be fussed if we got rid of him. That position is such an important one in a 4231 formation, and we haven't found a solution yet. I don't think it's Tadic's best position, and Davis doesn't offer enough going forward. Davis looked better last year, mainly due to the fact he was a key part of the press, and he just dropped the ball off to Lallana/Rickie/JRod, for them to do something more creative. Struggling at the moment.

The Long Overdue Pointless 2015/16 (Adidas) Kit Thread

Is it that nice? They're socks.... -
Think everyone knew at the time what a poor bit of business letting Corky go was, but he wanted to play and wasn't guaranteed that here. Fair play to him but we should have done everything to keep him. He is brilliant at what he does, and better than Gerrard and Henderson at playing that deeper role. Such an underrated player.

Was that young striker not from Man Utd's academy ? Wilson was it?

Basically, if you buy a player for £20m on a 4 year contract, then £5m will hit the P+L in each of those 4 years (expense), with the rest of it hitting the balance sheet (asset). It's just a way of spreading a cost over the life of the contract, rather than taking that cost all in 1 day when it's bought. It's the difference between an Income Statement and a Cash Flow statement.

lol, absolutely no chance that J Rod is fit enough to start or even be included in the squad. He's been out for over a year, and been in training 2 weeks max. Let him recover at his own pace, If he's available for the first game of the season next year then I'll be happy enough.

Davis Clyne Fonte Toby Bertrand Wanyama Davis Reed Mane Pelle Elia Or maybe stick Djuricic in for Reed and play him just in front of Davis and Vic
-
Alex Song, no thanks. 100k a week, and constantly caught in possession. Great first half of the season, but been shocking since January. Would rather give Reed a go alongside Wanyama, or sign Clasie and pay him a third of the amount.

No when I come on here during work hours I quite regularly dont read as much as I should do !!!
-
Probably would be more expensive depending on where you're coming from !!!

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Saint Garrett replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
£££££££££ Unfortunately Clyne has already shown himself to be one who will sit and get the club nothing when he left Palace for free. Get rid asap if he's not signing -
You know it's £3.26 with the club right?!

If he wants to price himself out of staying then thats up to him, flog him and we'll get someone in our wage bracket. No point breaking the clubs structure just because of another greedy footballer. You'd have thought they would learn after seeing others fail. -
I have more confidence in Gazza than Foderingham. Would quite like to see Gazza given a go behind our back 4/5. Half the problem last year, was that he came in when Lovren also got injured and we were crap as a unit, as well as him not being confident. He has had a few decent games, so he is capable.

Got Upper Tier yesterday, the bottom tier has a dreadful view. think we were 4 rows from the front last season, looking forward to seeing a bit more this time. Wonder if the club will do anything else for the fans this year, not that we should expect it, but last year was Swansea, free scarves, and was a brilliant trip.

Davis Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand Wanyama Davis JWP Mane Pelle Elia Read something today which said that Jose, Toby, Morgan and Vic have only played 10 games for us together this season. Ridiculous. Wonder how often we've had our best back 7 out......(Forster, Clyne, Fonte Alderweireld, Bertrand, Morgan, Wanyama)
