  1. Superb news. Hopefully he will end his career here. Top player and ultimate oro
  2. Going to be up there Bompey this season...
  3. It's incredible that they have made it worse. It feels like a few summer interns built it.
  4. Wouldn't be surprised if we go 3-4-1-2 for this... ------------------McCarthy (I'd pick Forster) -------Bednarek - Stephens - Salisu Livramento ---- Romeu --JWP--- Perraud -----------------Armstrong -------------Adams---Armstrong
  5. Forgot about him, ergh
  6. Exactly. I can accept that they don't have the financial backing to compete on the pitch, and it's easy to buy players that just don't fit or whatever, it's not great but I can accept it. The thing that pisses me off, is the thing that you don't need multi-millions for, like you say, the kits, sponsorship, the tickets, the seat pricing, and communication, even down to the ridiculous booking fee on a £600 product. It's just incredibly poor from the club.
  7. IMO, we need to find a way of getting KWP and Tino into the same side, as KWP is one of our best players. Could Tino play as a RCB in a three? Maybe...probably KWP RWB with JWP Romeu and Armstrong in the middle.
  8. Few points from me... Other teams play with 3 in the middle, we play with 2 and get completely over run. We don't change it when we are struggling. The "tens" give the ball away far too much, and get caught up the other end of the pitch. The 2 full backs also rocket up the pitch, leaving us completely open at the back Playing with the two CB's (none are particularly great), and a keeper who doesn't make saves hurts us massively. We get cut through so easily due to the CB's not pushing up with the rest of the team, or the rest of the team too high leaving the CB's competely unprotected. We leave it far too late to make subs. We're playing with 4 or 5 players who wouldn't get in many other premier league teams.
  9. I can't believe they've managed to make the ticketing site worse than it has been for the last 5 years. I know many people who have already had problems just trying to buy tickets. it's a complete shambles top to bottom.
  10. And a keeper and then a "ten"
  11. People have lost jobs, lost income, lost businesses etc, it’s a disgrace that they stuck the prices up. It never works with Saints. It’s happened quite a few times they’ve tried to increase the ticket prices, and all that happens is you get a load of empty seats in the ground. I get they have to try and increase income but putting the prices up for the odd game, can’t have much of an impact.
  12. Nope, got an email telling me they're being sent out this week though. Guessing we'll get a paper ticket if it doesn't arrive. I know plenty who are going away and wont be home now between now and the game. Newcastle tickets only put on sales today for next weekend. Same with Newport away tickets, "on sale at some point this week"...it's not great is it...
  13. David Connolly scored a few goals like that, great finisher in L1
  14. Although S Armstrong was decent at CM, I wouldn't want him playing there through choice. He offers very little defensively and can get excited and get tackled. Thats not the CM's job in this system.
  15. He was perfect for the championship, had an excellent season. We did also beat Man City at home with Hooiveld and Yoshida at the back in our return to the prem... Fonte was the shakier one in the championship, and excelled in the premier league.
  16. People said the same thing about Hojbjerg, his shooting was shit, he didn’t score enough goals…etc….but you know what, stick him in a defensive midfield position and he is excellent. He is very good at what he’s good at. With 4 “forwards” we shouldn’t be reliant on a DM to create chances, and score goals.
  17. I just struggle to see how since VVD left, we've struggled to bring in someone who is better than: Yoshida Hoedt Vestergaard Stephens We're still scrapping around for a CB, with all of these being part of a poor defensive side. Hopefully this guy might be a bit better, but I think it would be a shame if we can't upgrade on the current lot....
  18. I'd guess there is also the logic of wanting to show other players who come in like Tino (young player step down) that there is a pathway to the first team. Maybe there is another similar transfer lined up, and it's a marketing ploy to prospective transfers in...clutching at straws possibly! Would be a shame if KWP spends a lot of time on the bench this season though, as he is absolutely superb.
  19. Logically KWP, Perraud, Romeu, JWP, S.Armstrong have to start for me. The rest, is based on system. If we go 4-2-2-2 then Arma and Adams up top. I'd probably go Bednarek and Salisu at CB. Both keepers are crap, so just pick one, ideally Forster cos he actually makes saves. Livramento doesnt deserve to be dropped, but if we're going to play on the counter, we probably need one of Walcott / Redmond on the pitch unfortunately. It's a sorry state already, and I feel completely deflated about the season after one game. Hopefully it's not a complete embarrassment, as it's my neice and nephews first ever footy match...they might not come back...!
  20. Oh dear
  21. Ha! hopefully not!
  22. Had a poor season last season and had Covid. Has barely played recently.
  23. Agree, Bertrand was class for us, and although he wasn't quite at the level he once was last season, he was still very good.
  24. Nixon seems to suggest that he’ll go on a free if he goes there, or the Armstrong deal will be adjusted to £21m… Hes adamant though, despite no one else agreeing with him all day.
  25. Doesn’t make much sense that. Unless there were 2 separate deals agreed, one with Obafemi and one without… Dont see why we’d sell Obafemi to anyone else, if it costs us money, surely we’d just stick the additional on the Obafemi fee?
