Didn't see huge amounts from him, but difficult to judge in such a pathetic league. Like I said, I really hope he can come back and smash it up and get 20 goals from midfield, but it seems unlikely. I'm not sure he can change his core attributes that much from playing in the equivalent of League 1.

Not at all, because JWP had the technical ability, and he plays in the middle. Plus he is exceptional at set pieces. Elyounoussi is an attacking player who lacks technical ability, gives the ball away too much, and has no pace. If Ralph thinks he deserves another chance then I'm all for it, but I'd be concerned if we're relying on him next season. Not sure he's an "impact player" to come off the bench either

Having 3 decent full backs, 2 of which can play either side would be pretty good, and 1 a couple other options as a 4th option (Stephens, Bednarek, Diallo, JWP) makes sense to me. The drop in quality if one gets injured or banned has been a real problem. Just whether that option is Williams in on loan for best part of £6m...

Plenty have been auto-added already, but link below for anyone who hasn't been involved previously... https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/syfnyr

It was available to pay a few weeks ago I think, I paid mine.

It's about £6m over the season, a fair wack for borrowing someone else's player for sure, but better than spending the same on a lower league player who is nowhere near good enough, or someone that'll cost £15m inc wages and also may not be good enough. It makes sense to bring in Williams, especially given he can play both sides, but it's not great long term planning. The other option would be to bring in someone who is 30+ and have higher wages but could sign on a low transfer fee, much like Bertrand... I'm torn on this one, and I'm sure the club are too. Depends what other options there are out there.

Bought him on FM, yet to make his debut, true story
-
IMO if we keep him, it’s because no one will buy him. Clearly has got something, but the lack of ability and pace stood out massively when he last played for us.
-
Seems a bit mad that they’re asking for more for Williams, than they did for Lingard.

Sounds like targeted ads…

Swap for Armstrong a go-er?!
-
Clearly wanted out, and was a bit of a cock. Or so we’re led to believe. Always been very highly rated, but if he doesn’t want to be there there isn’t much point.
-
Funny, I thought he was absolutely dross in this tournament. Couldn't get in Middlesbrough side, and went to Spain. Was a panic signing by Barcelona, and they'll be trying to rid of him this summer I'd think.
-
I'd fully expect Valery, Slattery, Obafemi, Nlundulu, Jankewitz all to be off this summer...
-
Bowen also plays as a winger, rather than a striker. I think he’s been a fantastic signing for them.
-
I think there is a difference between internally believing something, and external marketing of the press. I'm sure he has been pretty open and honest, it certainly sounds like he has been. It's been in the press since last year, that if one of the big boys came in he would want to test himself at the highest level.
-
How do you know he hasn’t been?
-
I mean….he’s well in his right to not sign a new contract…just like the club is within its right to get rid of players whose contract expires,
-
Basically nothing new in there. Just a rehash of every article from tthe last 12 months about him,
-
Looks like the complete striker to me, I'd be really keen to see him join.
-
Never heard of her, but looks decent...
-
Also talk of Rice being worth upwards of £80m... JWP at his current level, at his age and contractual situation, and given we're likely to lose both Ings and Vestergaard, I'd expect Saints would only consider him leaving for silly money, i.e. north of £60m. Anything less than that, I can't see the club being interested in losing him.
-
Think their problem is they need cash for FFP or whatever it’s called now in the championship, so player exchange is crap for them; and of course low cash offer is too due to the 40% sell on fee. Hence why Venkys are asking £25m. They’re living in dreamland this summer though, just look at Barcelona….!

Jannik Vestergaard - Official: Signs for Leicester
Saint Garrett replied to ChiefScummer's topic in The Saints
Not sure he’s good enough to play for Spurs in all honesty. But would certainly take the cash if offered a decent amount. -
Not sure thats 100% true 2020/21 Diallo, Salisu, KWP, Walcott 2019/20 Ings, Adams, Djenepo 2018/19 Vestergaard, Elyounoussi, Gunn, Armstrong 2017/18 Carillo, Lemina, Hoedt, Bednarek In that time since Gao came in, we have sold, VVD, Rodriguez, Targett, Cedric, Gallagher, Austin, Reed, Hojbjerg, Gunn, Hoedt Yes we all know, Hoedt, Lemina, Elyounoussi, Carrillo have been an utter car crash of signings, but the last few years you cannot argue with the players that have been brought in, apart from maybe Djenepo who has shown decent flashes, and didn't cost very much. The bigger problem was the first summer when Gao bought the club, and we bought Lemina and Hoedt, and then Carrillo in January, and wasting the VVD money on absolute shite.
