Crouch, gotta be. Wow, were all going to be over the moon at that one. I'd like to add that I like Crouch, and fair play if he is handing out his money to save the club, thanks. It's not going to appease alot of people on here though!

Alpine and Mole, get a grip of reality. Tabor has been mentioned lots of times already along with a whole host of other people.

Wrong. They're stopping the right of appeal because they're not 100% sure they have a watertight case. Of course it all depends who heard the appeal, if it was the FL we're fooked. Imagine how ****ed they'd be if we were close to promotion and then the -10 was overturned by a court and we went up. They'd look like a right royal bunch of ****s. And no Sheff U didn't get promoted back to the prem, but they got a shed load of cash for their "case". Doesn't add upto the money they lost in the longer term though. Being pragmatic I think we ought to take the -10 and be done with it. Deep down though I'm ****ed with the FL for not closing the loophole after Derby and think hell give it a go, overturn the -10.

Yeh it flew over Woolston as well heading towards Itchen Bridge from Hedge End direction.

Mills may not be prem class but I saw in the paper last week someone was going to offer 2m for him! I was slightly surprised but he did play well last year.
-
I think SOG was alluding to the fact that when we played the youngsters the team didn't exactly set the world alight.

I take it you have a problem with his charity work and the promotion of it. I noticed another sarcastic comment on a thread yesterday.

Yes we'll absoultely have to live within our means and to be honest I'm personally happy with rather than the potential situation of no club at all. That said, living within our means may not be so much of an issue for us with no millstone of a mortgage :-)
-
A very simplistic view on the situation, obviously he would have hoped a takeover would have taken place by now. And if the clerical staff were not aware that there was a possibility they might ht not be paid I would be amazed. The story of Crouch paying for April being a starter for 10. Doesn't make it right, but it must have been on their mind surely?

And this just proves the fact that football is mad. Guthrie was an ok player, but 40k per week is madness!!!!
-
I think they've got the figures wrong somewhere, I'm sure that Ashley cleared the debt. Their turnover was 100m but their wage bill was 70m. Scary figure in the news today..... DANNY GUTHRIE £40,000 — will do well in Championship. 40K for Guthrie, that's fecking scary

Portsmouth's chief executive, Peter Storrie, says the club are going ahead with rotating Fratton Park's pitch 90 degrees and expanding the current ground to 30,000 seats by 2011-12, but will build a new 40,000 or 45,000-seat stadium at Port Solent if Portsmouth is selected as a World Cup host city. They've obviously got a huge amount of money swilling around.....

No absolutely not, I agree, the overriding priority is the club. It's just I don't want to see them as Saints (please pardon the Pun) when there is a potentially large amount of money to be had at the end of the process for said individual. Lets just all agree they're not only doing this for the good of the club, there is self gain to be made here! If it's 5% of the quote 8m, £400,000 is alot of cash. What I find odd with these potential buyers is if they're interested in buying Saints or any other club for that matter, why go through someone like Jackson. No slight on him intended, why go through any middle man/facilitator? Pinnacle I can understand to a degree as they have a personal/business relationship (if I read it correctly), but why an individual such as MJ? Sure this has already been answered on another thread but I can't keep track.
-
All giving masses of their time for how much though? If they're giving it for free to save Saints then hats off to them. I bet there's a 1 - 5% cut in there somewhere though.
-
I'd applaud anyone who punched someone for throwing a smoke bomb onto the pitch. The fact that he was a Skate on a wind up makes it even more annoying. He's gone well out of his way to come to SMS, buy a ticket and throw a smoke bomb. Got everything he deserved.

No, next.

WSS I'd like to point out I didn't by a copy either! Honest Guv :-)

Which no one denies, but as Crouchie points out there are other signs and symptoms of cancer you know. The screening programme cannot be relied on entirely. No screen programme is 100% effective. Funniest thing I've seen in all of this, if anything can be funny. The headline on OK magazine after the she died. "Bye to one of Britains brightest stars". WTF is that all about.

taking a long hard look at themselves hopefully

Added to that, I had a friend in the Met, who had colleagues looking forward to Euro 96 as they could wield their batons. I bet some of the mentalities of the police last week would have been similar. Always a lunatic fringe in all walks of life, we have a similary problem with a small element of SFCs support.
-
By all accounts of whom? The Met? LOL. I had a friend in court recently, trial was abandoned after the police lied or at least stretched the truth on oath! 3 officers gave evidence, defence lawyer asked them where they got this "information" from, my notebook was the reply. The defence laywer produces photo copies of the notebooks taken 3 days after the "event" which did not tally with their testimony. So 3 of Hampshires finest have colluded. A disgrace.

Well if we're airing dirty lineniin public lets have the stories from WGS, Sturrock etc who have left under NDAs. It can't all be one way traffic!

Well I've gotta admit even in their darkest hour I never wanted Pompey to go under. struggling like hell to keep afloat, but not actually go out of business forever. How dull would it be having Bournemouth as your local rivals. Mind you, we might be playing them more often than Pompey soon!
