From a personal perspective, the only thing that would encourage me to go on the pitch, is if that plank on the PA system (Who only appears at the last game of the season - Is he a copper?) spends the whole of second half telling us not too. Note to plank; Two announcements will be fine, three at an absolute push if we are spanking utd and Guly scores. But however much you like the sound of your own voice, continual announcements from 46 mins through to 90 are not required.

As fantastic as a season we have had, I am assuming there won't be a pitch invasion? Would be a tad embarrassing IMO (Although perhaps not as embarrassing as Readings) Additionally - We might get an insight into some players futures, based on their reactions during a lap of honour.

They have huge debts...... whatever they get from the deal will be swallowed up.

Guly pretty much confirms he is leaving Saints this summer
Gemmel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
What a load of old b)ll(ocks. It's in your head The9. Talk us through your campaign about "Woggy":lol: As already posted, you lot do more harm than good when it comes to race relations. Of course we have some idiots, some are racist in their expression of perceived failure and some are just football ignorant, but to suggest that people (Even enough to be classed as a minority) pick on Guly because he is black, is stupid. Did about 80% of home and away in league 1 (x 2) and the championship , same in the last two seasons of the Prem and averaging somewhere between 60 and 80% for the previous 25 years..... and the picture you paint simply didn't and doesn't exist....... find a new crusade. -
If Man U offered Shaw a 100k a week (Lets say) even if Katrina was prepared to match it, then we start having problems with the % to turnover rules on salary.... Well ok, one deal might not do that, but of course the other players would want the same treatment (Certainly the bigger players) which then makes it unviable....unless you have half the squad on pennies (Relatively) or half of the academy players and the others on multi million pound contracts......... Either way that is a recipe for disaster....... I should add that is my understanding of the % to turnover rules (Happy to be corrected). The point I am trying to make is that is just one of the considerations in all of this.

Cheers for the update. Those that have met him seem to be genuinely impressed.

Without wishing to stick up for any journalists or papers. The bit about Lambert is true. The deal was agreed and then cortese left and our new guys pulled out......Although you are quite right with the contradiction. My favourite one is in today's Sun (Copyright Hutch) where J Rod is off in the summer......................... I think was can assume that won't be happening.
-
So your original post was complete and utter horse sh!t.
-
The level of detail you have provided, suggests you may well be correct, but without the time or inclination to validate it, it is at odds with every report or article I have ever read about him. My understanding is the club had crippling debts of 150 million euros, the big players were shipped out and he used 20 youngsters (Probably what put him on Cortese's radar). Your posting history, makes it easier to dismiss, but I am sure someone will correct your post if you are wrong...........LOL Already done I see. Glasgow - At least give yourself half a chance and change your user name.

Football wise in a heart beat and he would be great for the youngsters to learn their trade from. However the older players in their last couple of seasons, isn't the type of player we seem to go for. Then of course there is all the personal baggage that comes with him and we would be seen as far to high risk, from a team spirit perspective.

Not for us but loved it when he did this to the skates

Guly pretty much confirms he is leaving Saints this summer

Oh do shut up. You lot do more harm than good when it comes to racial equality, when you try and make racial issues, when they simply do not exist. -
Just in case things get dull (X100000) on most posts and things might get repetitive (X100000) on most posts. I think I will lock this thread. LMFAO..... just remember people pay to post on here. No rules had been broken on that thread..... your opinions are not supposed to count for anything. Stick to the rules and stop stroking one off because you have a log in that allows you to lock threads

Completely agree with that - Excellent post.

I'm with Deadpanmatt. For all those that say different, with the chance to treble your wages 99% of us would move and it really isn't that much different for footballers. Seriously, what you be saying to your son if they were Luke Shaw? Even if Katrina was prepared to match the wage offer from Utd (If its all true) then she couldn't because of the FFP. My son and the whole family is Saints mad, but if at 18 he had the chance to sign a 100k a week 5 year contract, plus a percentage of a 30 million pound transfer fee and play for one of the biggest clubs in the World, the advice would have to be to take it. Look at Jay Rod, these lads are one injury away from the unknown. Financial security for life. He would be mad to turn it down..... Which he won't if that really is the deal on the table -

 Very good -
I think the upshot of all of this is that Cortese was good for Saints and Saints was good for Cortese. Whatever he was paid would have been set by the remuneration committee, based on targets originally set by Markus, so whatever the figure is, it's not that relevant. However, it does beg the question of why he just walked away from it. It is likely that this was his best ever pay day. I don't expect any mud to be thrown from the estate, that doesn't seem to be their way and the comment about "The finances were in a difficult situation" was about as far as they are likely to go.

Congratulations....... Top work :)

we had no ******* posts in your days ;)

What is the weirdest own goal scored at a Saints game?
Gemmel replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Not for Saints - But an ex Saint has my favourite ever own goal. Step up Iain Dowie...... Completely forgot he was defending and attacked the header and buried it :) :)
