The Sikh religion is one of the most open minded that I (personally) have come across and I am good friends with a couple of Sikh guys who view this story in the same way as we would do with representatives of any minority quango which is out to make a name for themselves ! When it comes to gay rights, black police associations etc.. you often find that the 'silent majority' of their type, really don't give a monkeys, but the leaders of their groups make a huge issue out of something which can normally be resolved with just a bit of common sense, rather than the sensationalist headlines that they seem to thrive on !!

Sadly in today's world, you have people who reckon that 10 games is enough to judge a manager's performance ! Mostly they are given 3 year contracts, therefore (if the chairman loses his nerve !) it becomes a very short sighted and costlly excercise before the club embarks on the same process all over again ! IMHO stability is vital and if you have the courage of your convictions then you have to stay strong ! Using the manager as a scapegoat is the easy option but all too often it seems to happen !

Basically nobody has improved the situation since Jose (I do realise that Di Matteo presided over the jammy CL win !) and the merry go round will continue unless they win a couple of trophies each year ! IMO there is no evidence that regular change is better than stability and it is (for sure!) a helluva lot more costly !

Been an avid supporter of the Saints for more than 40 years now and basically because my wife comes from Southampton you could say that I am married to the football club from the city ! Seems that we got it all wrong about the booing ! Herewith a Skate take on last night's events : (on his behalf, please excuse the lack of punctuation!) cuteface 3:05 PM on 07/11/2012 I was there last night only a few people booed and only a few people left before the end also I'm sure those boos wasn't directed at the players but at the Brentford supporters if the players stayed they would of realised that also we applauded the players but they walked off only one stayed I enjoyed the football even if we didn't play well the other team wasn't much better only one goal and it wasn't hit in properly.

The club was bought for £13 million and there has been sizeable further investment but taking the current asset value of fixed holdings, players etc.. you will easily get beyond £50 million and that's without considering £60 million parachute payments over 4 years after relegation ! I still think that the club was a good investment and as the dealmaker (I am fully aware that ML was the moneyman!) Cortese should get credit for having the vision to make the purchase !
