FWIW, here is my (long winded!) contribution : I am appalled that the Prime Minister has supported the suggestion that Portsmouth Football club be shown favour over their 'winding up petition' with HMRC. Even a cursory enquiry into the recent history of this business would reveal serious concerns of financial skullduggery ! Having written off around £20 million within the last two years, HMRC is duty bound to ensure that there is no recurrence of this illegality and every honest, hard working taxpayer deserves no less ! The local MP clearly sees some electoral advantage in tabling the question but is extremely naive in expecting law abiding citizens to support such folly ! In the current economic climate, there are many deserving causes which have suffered due to lack of government funding. I urge you, Prime Minister, to retract your support for PFC and to back the judgement of HMRC as they stand up for the long suffering taxpayer !

Agent Tom is doing a sterling job

My guess is that Lambert/Sharp would be the preferred option with Guly somewhere behind them (in the formation!). Lee will most likely be a sub until he familiarises with English football ! Connolly, Barnard and De Ridder (if he is not used on the wing!) will struggle for games except for the cup matches ! All IMHO of course !

Here's a classic from the News comments section : blueshirt Monday, January 30, 2012 at 06:31 PM just seen this story on the BBC sports site.. what really annoys me is the headline for the story on that page.. It reads" Pompey fail to pay players wages" which to me, anyway, implies that the players are not being paid because Pompey are at fault and are failing in their contractual obligations, rather than highlighting the fact that they are actually being prevented from fulfilling those obligations by the actions of HMRC in freezing the bank account, which puts an entirely different slant on the story...................by all means BBC, report on the ongoing situation at PFC, but do so fairly, and tell people that it is HMRC who have prevented Pompey from paying their staff wages, rather than that Pompey have "Failed" to do so ..........

The 5th Round Draw - Bolton at home (if we beat Millwall!)

Brighton at SMS ! -
The biggest plus is that we preserved the AAA status because of the approach to spending cuts which gives huge interest charge savings on the monstrous national debt which they inherited ! Also a special mention for standing up to 'Merkosy' over the Eurozone bailout ! The biggest minus so far is that they haven't yet come to grips with immigration, human rights fiascos and benefit reform ! Could have been a lot worse IMHO !

You should be happy that you are tolerated on here ! I would add that since you were 'outed', you have been treated pretty kindly IMO, so no need to gloat !

Plucky Pompey`s Plight- pledge your cash here..

I was inclined to pledge the pickings from my nose, but have reconsidered and feel that even this would be a step too far !!! -
I hope that his nickname does not end up as 'Brenda'

I'm sure that Cortese and Adkins will be grateful for your advice, perhaps you should send them an e-mail outlining the full strategy which you require them to follow !!
-
To be fair, Mandaric wasn't around at that time and place ! Peter Storrie was in charge, so I'm sure that everything would have been kosher !!
-
You have just given us the definition of 'greed' ! (a bit slow off the mark there, others have said the same, must be true then !)

I'll say it again. We will not finish in the top 2!
eurosaint replied to Cestrian Saint's topic in The Saints
If only Cortese had the foresight and business acumen of Alpine-Saint ? If only Adkins had the positivity and motivational skills of Dalek2003 ? If only we had Cestrian Saint as head of PR ? If only the Professor was Director of Football ? If only, if only................ -
I love this 'Admin Andy' character and laugh as the Skates lap up all his b#llsh#t ! How the h#ll he was predicting a solution in 48 hours (3 times, no less!) is beyond me ! To say that he makes it up as he goes along is being generous to him as I reckon that it's calculated to keep the few onside and the FL at bay !! No wonder the Swindon fans hate his guts !!

In the News article previously quoted, they make no secret of the fact that Cala is negotiating directly with Portpin http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/cala_to_meet_with_football_league_over_pompey_deal_1_3438794?commentssort=1&commentspage=3#commentsSection. I may be naive but surely Chanrai is purely a creditor of CSI (albeit with a charge over some of it's former assets!) and if his company is negotiating separately, this demonstrates that Portpin is being shown favour over all other parties ! This cannot be legal, surely ??

Don't you have a wife ??

I just wish that they would bring back the Milk Cup !!

According to my calculations we have had 3 deadlines now passed : a) 1 x 48 hours. b) 1 x 7 to 10 days. c) 1 x 48 hours. d) 1 x 2 to 3 weeks from early Jan which is upcoming. Credit to AA, as we sail beyond his predictions he just comes up with another one !!! Ho Ho Ho

This signing is also about improving the squad ! Recently our bench has been pretty lightweight with limited options ! Whether Falque plays regularly (and in which role!) is dependent on who is fit, who is on form, who is suspended etc... As far as I see it, we have more permutations available than before and this can only be a good thing ! Same applies to Lee and anyone else we might sign within this window, it adds to the concept of 'strength in depth' !

The guy is a f#cking idiot, would be a great replacement for the Clot as a source of amusement on this thread ! (Ps. still can't believe that they'd go for him, surely there must be somebody else lurking in the wings!).

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/cala_says_he_ll_pull_out_of_pompey_takeover_if_not_done_this_week_1_3425747 Check out the comments, they have obviously forgotten the last 48 hour deadline and fall 'hook, line and sinker' for the next one

Sorry mate, you are about 5 hours too late with this one (#47579) !
