  1. Fair enough and I'd love to sign him, but best we don't assume that he is a racehorse and Guly is a donkey !!
  2. Wasn't trying to score a point Revo, just showing that Guly is not the useless git that some would make him out to be (someone even said "he should never wear the shirt again"!). Even with Rickie as the talisman, he chips in with his fair share of goals and assists ! I also accept that stats are not the be all and end all, but it is quite important to make a subjective assessment rather than spit out vitriol as many seem prone to (not you by the way!).
  3. http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/richard-keys-and-andy-gray/blog/2011-12-19/alan-mclaughlin-reviews-portsmouth-v-southampton? Alan McLaughlan on Talksport. He reckons that they are in a 'little bit of a mess' at the moment but much more attractive to buy than before ! Didn't realise he was so much of a Skate but worth a listen (keep a sick bag at the ready mind, a few comments to wind us up!).
  4. http://www.portsmouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=266146 We did Portsmouth Football Club proud and this has been commented on by a few people I have spoken to so far, Trina's old man today said to me that the atmosphere came across brilliantly with the 'language' that the BBC could not filter out also highly amusing. High standards, eh ? No wonder we have no respect for them !
  5. Logically at SMS the Northam would be standing and the rest seated ! FFS, they stand up anyway !!!!
  6. It is surely not beyond the wit of man to create 'safe standing' areas ! You just need more barriers and good exits etc.. the problems at Hillsborough and Ibrox were in ancient stadiums and, having learnt the lessons, there is no reason any longer for the health and safety bureaucrats to deny decent law abiding citizens their desire to watch football on their feet rather than their @rses !! Ps. I prefer to sit but am happy to fight for the rights of my fellow man !
  7. Thanks for putting those up Rick, I wasn't there in the flesh but have total respect for those who did ! Whether they sang loudly or simply applauded, who gives a sh#t, you were there supporting the saints ! There were factors (ie. the bubble and lack of booze!) which no doubt kept the sound down a bit, but even on the crap telly coverage I could hear lots of chants from our end !
  8. Herewith the NP Championship goalscorers : Npower Championship Top Scorers Lambert Southampton 15 McCormack Leeds 10 Andrews Ipswich 9 Henderson Millwall 9 Sharp Doncaster 9 Wood Birmingham 9 Austin Burnley 8 Davies Barnsley 8 Fryatt Hull 8 Jutkiewicz Coventry 8 McCann Peterborough 8 Snodgrass Leeds 8 Chopra Ipswich 7 Cole West Ham 7 Guly Southampton 7 League goals only. Looks to me like the 'proper' strikers like Billy Sharp are not so far ahead of Guly and bear in mind that he does not always play in the striker's role (ie. early in the season when Connolly was up front with Lambo!). Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see another couple of quality signings but I think that we need some perspective in the Guly discussion ! Ps. Maynard and Rodrigues are not even on the list !
  9. Believe it or not, neither was Matt Le Tiss ! Well not at the peak of career anyway
  10. Don't forget Guly !
  11. Some players display a different body language to others, MLT had a 'languid' style and Guly (albeit not in the same class!) has similar characteristics ! It doesn't mean that he comes off the field without having broken sweat !!
  12. Would be nice if they had a 'Korean Spring' and the long suffering population were able to fight back for once !!
  13. Salient points and you could actually have been talking about Matt Le Tiss as well ! I don't think anyone is saying that he had a good game yesterday but some of the reactions are way over the top ! Maybe we should boo him at the Palace match, that should sort it !!!
  14. Sure Guly did not have a good game today but is it really necessary to use him as a scapegoat for dropping 2 points ? We win as a team and we lose as a team ! I will be cheering him as much as the rest of them come the Palace match next week !
  15. I am pleased to see this thread and that so many agree that the coverage was dire ! I was watching with my daughter and we both commented all through the match just how amateurish the camera work and the commentary was !! Sky beat them hands down, no doubt about it !!
  16. Clearly yes ! If they cannot exist without financial input from CSI, how in hell's name can they not be 'intrinsically linked' ???
  17. I am used to watching live matches on Sky and have to say that the BBC are the non league equivalent in terms of coverage ! Appalling (with 2 L's) is exactly what it was !
  18. Well said Minty, as always the voice of reason ! Some of the comments on here are way over the top and we do not need to be making scapegoats after a game like that ! Top of the league at Christmas, how many of you would have been happy with that at the start of the season ! Come on Saints, onwards and upwards !!!!!
  19. Burrows reckons they already stopped a punch up !
  20. Adkins just interviewed on Solent, sounds calm and confident !!
  21. “The priority is to find a buyer. In the worst-case scenario, we would have to look at putting the club back into administration.” This is unusual speak from Admin Andy ! Are the few being softened up in advance ?? http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-face-administration-and-points-deduction-again-article844184.html
  22. "Which part of "as one economic entity" is it that you struggle to understand?" Probably the bit where, without CSI's funding you do not have a pot to p!ss in !!
  23. Shame, but it does leave the way clear for the young lad from up north whose dad is bankrupt !
