  1. If we're going to play a hardworking player who rarely scores i'd prefer to play Long, who at least works harder, wins the ball in the air, has the experience of this league (and knows how to draw fouls) as well as being able to actually pop up with a goal now and then.
  2. Trouble now is they're players that aren't quite big enough for the top clubs, and the middling clubs that might want them can't afford the £40million+ it would take.
  3. Absolutely I don't, which is why I would never judge a parent for disciplining their child with a smack. Anything above the light, glancing blow that intends to leave a stinging sensation for a few seconds and I obviously don't approve though. I'm aware there are bad parents out there, but a bad parent who has spent 6 years with a child knows that childs behaviour and how it will respond to certain actions better than someone who comes in with a clipboard to judge their parenting skills for an hour. At the end of the day i'm not saying smacking kids should be the default punishment. But we've all been around kids out in town, in restaurants, on public transport etc...and from what i've seen I can absolutely see their being situations where children aren't going to respond to caring/negotiating tactics. I've also heard many, many stories from friends and colleagues about their kids where they've reprimanded them for bad behaviour and explained to them the potential consquences and the kids have just carried on anyway as they aren't able to think so far ahead as to fully consider those consequences. I guess my issue is more that i'm uncomfortable with the government dictacting too much of how a parent can raise their child. Hate speech is now a criminal offence (despite it being very vague in what constitutes hate speech), how long before parents are told they can't use harsh language with their child?
  4. See if there were more guns, that wouldn't have happened. Erm... Just read it - no charges as it was accidental??? Surely that's manslaughter at the very least???
  5. I don't have kids, but you cannot seriously tell me that you don't believe that situations arise where they're still so young that they don't properly understand consequences to their actions and aren't able to use logic to reason that if they act like A they won't get B. Every child is different. Maybe a lot would respond to different techniques, but a lot also wouldn't and there is my point - it should be up the to the parent of the child to decide what is necessary. At no point have I said it should be the first port of call, it absolutely should be the last resort.
  6. If someone is being a c*nt and refuses to stop no matter what you say or do, you can wash your hands of that person and walk away. If your child is being a c*nt and refuses to stop no matter what you say or do, that's not an option.
  7. Well we'll find out how it affects peoples emotional growth over the next decade I suppose as those who have grown up in the recent culture change reach working age. I personally foresee a lot more obnoxious, entitled young people and rampant mental health issues brought on by an unrealistic expectation of how easy it's going to be to get what you want.
  8. They're usually scared of putting people off with slow paced exposition.
  9. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/mother-tongue/10636279/Have-Swedens-permissive-parents-given-birth-to-a-generation-of-monsters.html I like this quote;
  10. Entirely my choice, myself and my partner both have zero interest in having children. Much prefer to live our lives in just each others company doing exactly what we want to do.
  11. Not everyone has children who are as well behaved, compliant and understanding of the consquences of bad actions. I don't have kids and never will, but I was smacked on the arse as a child before I properly understood the consequences of my actions beyond the next 5 minutes. People seem to have forgotten that a smacked arse is meant to sting for a few seconds and that's it. At the end of the day, no-one knows that child and what they respond to better than it's parents.
  12. Different era. The whole world was fighting each other for land, resources etc at the time. I acknowledge it was wrong but I feel no guilt over it.
  13. No idea. But they certainly do seem a lovely bunch of people.
  14. That is an incredible leap of judgement to make about me based off of me saying that far left organisations are attacking people as well. I don't read/watch any mainstream media from America - I watch unedited footage and read reactions coming directly from people at events, and there is plenty of evidence of Antifa being one of the most violent and (ironically) fascist organisations out there.

Probably because they started their league with rules that would stop it becoming uncompetitive. What do we have to cheer for, really? Our best ever team was the 5th best in the league. Whoopdie do. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  16. JWP would be a contender for player of the season in the Championship if he played there at this stage in his career. He is a good midtable player right now, on a good day he performs like a top 6 midfielder. With a couple of years left to go before he hits the traditional "peak" of a players career, I think we could yet see him be a standout player for us. Oakley was revered on here but he was never better than a midtable player, fyi. JWP is only 2 years away from his 10 year mark in the first team, with potentially another 7 or 8 years after that still able to play (or longer, as his game doesn't revolve around pace).
  17. Maybe in this country (so far), but just look to America to see how things are going - Antifa and other far left organisations regularly attacking people, causing destruction to public property, shutting down public speakers etc. Glossed over in the media but it's happening all the time.
  18. To staff who might do an absolutely terrible job. Not the point anyway. I like negotiating contracts for example...but when I tried it in 2019 it seemed so overly complicated.
  19. See my last post. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  20. Apologies, didn't realise Cedric got injured pre match. Why the hell did he not just bring Valery in. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. Was it a dodgy defensive line up? It looked to me like exactly the line up people were asking for in build up. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. No-one see a problem with this...? I hear that there have been issues today with drop balls being given to the defending team rather than the team that had possession today, proving what a ridiculous rule this is. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah I know, just facepalmed when I read mine quoted in yours.
  24. First time playing the game since 2014, that's 5 years worth of new mechanics to get up to speed with. I tried the demo a while back and gave up after taking one look at the main screen, just went back to 2014. And before you suggest FM Touch, I don't want an absolute basic version of the game...I like some of the indepth features. Maybe in the future they should allow you to select which mechanics are indepth and which are the touch version.
  25. "Most unpleasant people i've ever become"...jesus, I need to proof read before I press Post.
