It will only work when playing 3 at the back, effectively using the third defender as a defensive midfielder stepping forward to close down while the other two cover. When (if) playing 4 at the back, I fully expect Romeu to be starting.

One thing I am excited about is that both Ings and Adams seem able to drop off with the ball and pick out a good pass to overlapping players. A front 3 of any combination of them, Redmond or Djenepo could cause problems for almost any defence (aside from possibly the top 2).

Not a well known name, but historically a decent sized club. They've won the Bundesliga a few times back in the 70s I think. Promoted to the top flight last season after a couple of years out of it scoring 84 goals in 34 games so potentially a real test for our defence.

Isn't the point that players like Targett who we might not see as good enough still raise much more funds than they cost which enable us to sign the players we want?
