Best performance since his last goal, i'd say. Just lacked a finish but only had two sights at goal, one from distance and one he snatched at - probably due to desperation at lack of goals. Wouldn't say any blame can be laid at his feet though.
-
To be fair we had midfielder number one injured for this game, his replacement injured in the first half and then HIS replacement injured in the second half as well. That's damn unlucky in anyones book.

----------Forster Clyne Fonte Gardos Bertrand -------Wanyama Davis Long------- Reed---------Tadic -----------Pelle That's what I want to see anyway...
-
Nope his 4th.
-
The squad are shattered at the moment, literally none of them have had a break with the exception of Bertrand.
-
His shot stopping was never in question.

First minute of injury time wasted with the ref sorting people out for the corner. Then wastes another 40 seconds with his f*cking spray, then blows the whistle 10 seconds after the free kick. 3 minutes of injury time given and we only played a minute and a half of it. Didn't deserve to lose.

Would have been a better option than Mayuka to come off the bench on sunday so in that respect letting him go was a mistake. People saying he wouldn't defend, i disagree. I've definitely seen him track back for us in the past and get stuck in. Whatever happened to working with a player and getting them to adapt. I believe they call it management. Oh well, he'll be sold and forgotten about and in a couple of years time he'll sign for Inter or Juventus or PSG or some such for £20million+

A Big Thank You So Far: Steward Perceptions Survey!

Not true, i've seen them just stand at a certain point and not go any further AND i've seen them get to the same point and just walk back down to the front again. -
I spent the last year or two raving about the guy when he was at Celtic and was over the moon when we signed him in the summer. But he's been average at best for us, there's no two ways about it. Only 26 though and there's no real pressure on us to succeed right now, so hopefully a year or two of Premier League experience will round out his attributes a bit more.

Mane needs to take a leaf from Longs book and be a bit more direct. As does the rest of the team actually, we're far too slow getting the ball forward sometimes. Our most dangerous attack today was one pass down the line from Bertrand to Long who ran past Zabaleta and crossed it for Pelle to miss the ball by about an inch. I appreciate it's probably not realistic for someone to make those runs time after time in a game as they'd be exhausted, but ONCE in the entire game? Come on. I feel Koeman made a mistake moving the defence around as well. Bring Reed on in CM for Schneiderlin or Mayuka on and move Davis back. Aldeweireld was excellent in CM and Yoshida didn't really do anything wrong, but when you've got one of the best defences in Europe you do everything you can to hold onto that.

Just an off weekend, normal service resumed midweek.

nine out of 12 of our games have been against sides in the bottom 11!

Easy way to find out, give them 3 points and see where they'd be. -
Since we've been back our home games against City are won one, drawn one and lost one. Better than most i'd wager.
-
Yep, it will take monumentally awful form for the rest of the season for us to finish outside the top 6 now.
-
Weird game where we didn't actually play that badly but lost 3-0. City were clearly well up for it. Shame Bayern couldn't hold on midweek. Once they got a goal and even after going a man down they were always dangerous on the break. Not too fussed as we'll play worse than today and beat sides. We're not as good as Man City - shock horror. We can still finish in the top 4 as other than them and Chelsea the rest of the big teams are still struggling. The 4th spot in particular is well open. We will definitely finish top 6 which is an outstanding achievement.

Unfortunately sunday lunchtimes seem to have poor atmosphere, people with hangovers maybe? I actively avoid going out the night before a match for that exact reason.
-
I reckon if you ask nicely someone near the front would swap with you. Maybe post your block on here and see of anyone offers.
-
He went there on loan from us years ago and didn't get a single game, in fact he got sent off in his single reserves appearance for handling the ball outside the area.
-
Nothing wrong with what he's saying in that article. It's pretty clear he's leaving in the summer and I for one will still think highly of him for showing professionalism this season and getting on with it.

A Big Thank You So Far: Steward Perceptions Survey!

Done. One of the things that annoys me is that stewards always say they "have to be seen trying to get us to sit down". Fair enough, so kneel on the stairs at the front and be SEEN but not heard. Safe standing has to happen. -
On a side note, look at how nice it is inside that coach - looks like they've got f*cking marble tables!
-
What if we play better than Villa did against us while City play worse than we did against Villa? What will happen then?
-
I think ART was bang on about the glass or two of wine, he was just confused about who had consumed them.
-
Well the stats are well in our favour. In Prem history I believe only 2 teams have been in our position at this stage and not finished in the top 6. At least that was the case one or two games ago. If we get anything more than 4 points from these next 3 games it will be a huge boost. But the thing is, we can afford to lose all 3 and still be in the top 4. I wonder what pundits will say in that case? Losing those 3 games but still being in the top 4 wouldn't be proof that we couldn't do it at all.
