Watched the highlights, I don't think Oscar did anything in particular to fool Davis for the third. He didn't shift, or dummy...he just shot towards the near post. Seemed to me like Davis just assumed he was going across goal.
Whoever it was yesterday was fairly decent, letting the game flow. Only shocker I can think of was not giving a foul on Lambert when he was literally pulled 180 degrees.
It's a total myth that Cork doesn't attack well. Look back at our NPC goals and see how he puts in some quality passes/crosses (I know it's a league below, but he played the entire season whereas he didn't last).
Same could be said for Lovren at Lyon.
I quite like Heitinga but at his age doesn't really strike me as the kind of deal we'd do. For right here and now I'd say he's better than Fonte though.
I think his performances this season have been inspiration enough, plus he seems plenty vocal to me. Strange that Davis was given the armband though, maybe Pochettino misunderstood his role as club captain?
So carry that on and end up 22 points better off which will see us on 63 at the end of the season (would have finished 6/7th depending on goal difference last year).
If he meant it in the way he said he did, who are we to say otherwise? "No no, don't care what you say, this meant something else years back and that's all it could ever mean".
