  1. Townsend, Milner, Barkley can all play on the wing, plus Cleverly. Ridiculous though really, Dyer could maybe have got a call up. Also, chances are he'll use Welbeck, Rooney or Sturridge as wide forwards. Kyle Walker at right back still is a concern, although there's only Clyne challenging and he hasn't exactly been outstanding, just solid. Hopefully Forster will get a chance in goal after his top performances recently and Joe Hart making more cock ups.
  2. That's exactly the problem. The list of players I posted above surely cannot be considered pivotal points in the FAs history.
  3. Lescott, Jagielka, Joe Cole, Woodgate, Riise, Clichy, Anelka, Gallas, Nasri, Saha, Rob Green, Schwarzer, Dempsey, Ben Foster, Given, Butland, MILE JEDINAK??? Adebayor, Obi Mikel, Skrtel, Matt Upson, Hangelaand. That's the list of players who I really can't see why they're in there. Bolded the most ridiculous one...why the f*ck is Palaces captain in there?
  4. Been the same for a year or two, the clean sheets last season were mainly down to the defence. Fraser Forster should be Englands number 1 without a doubt, saying he won't be because he plays for Celtic is ridiculous as he's pulled some outstanding performances out of the bag in the Champions League and especially against Barca.
  5. Nah, 42. But I'd imagine there's a few of his type scattered about the place.
  6. I don't think they are. I think this is why we're so unbelievably tight with booking fees, parking fees, cheap shirt designs selling for high prices. And also why I think we may see a player sold for big money either in january or next summer.
  7. You mean the PL money? I don't think the Liebherr estate is putting much in to be honest, if anything.
  8. Think you're being a bit harsh on Davis, he's a pretty decent goal scoring threat.
  9. Surely that wouldn't be allowed? Not sure but it's probably in breach of the TV contract or something.
  10. For all the p*ss taking, The Saint radio station was brilliant really. A post match show would be very good, but a radio show would be outstanding. Obviously very expensive though.
  11. P*sses me off so much. One bloke near me was screaming at Davis to get it in the box for ages against Palace, then when he did and it went through to the keeper he shouted "what was the f*cking point of that".
  12. I seem to remember a "long ball" being classed as anything over 20 yards, so switching it as we do quite often will count towards it. Even our CBs sometimes pass it to the full backs further distance than that...
  13. How long before this game was that announced though? We could well be doing free travel to Newcastle or Sunderland, or something away to one of the London based clubs (free tube ticket would be good?). Won't be announced until closer the time though, I'd imagine.
  14. Amazing that this build up thread is so quiet, I swear they're normally into double figures for pages by now when we're struggling.
  15. What happened with that again?
  16. God knows how I haven't been chucked out in the past before then.
  17. You'll definitely be on your own if you start it on saturday I'll do my best to get it going from lower down block 42, and away to United as well.
  18. You can cherry pick like that for any team though. Man City you could say 1 point from Stoke, Villa and Cardiff. Even the eventual Champions will drop "easy" points at some stage, just not as many.
  19. I'm not saying we should let him go after four years, I'm saying we should judge whether he has been worth the outlay after four years. If we sell him on for more than we bought him for before that time, then it could be argued he was worth it. If he is still with us, has signed a new contract and is an important part of a squad that is still in the Prem then I would also say that's worth it.

    Fat Sam

I wonder what his feelings are on that now.
  21. He was signed for £12million for 4 (?) years, so wait until the end of his original contract at least to see if he pays it back.
  22. The fact is that yes, we are only as high as we are because of the poor starts of other top clubs. But who's to say they're going to make huge improvements throughout the season? United look abysmal at the moment.
  23. Similarly, if we hadn't signed Lambert someone else would have played so who's to say they wouldn't have 100+ goals for us now...
  24. Haven't we invested 50-60 million so far the last two seasons? One more summer of spending and we should be there then.
