  1. Preston away, 1st november 2008. Alex Pearce, Drew Surman and Dave McGoldrick in the 93rd.
  2. No, there's just no-one else going forward to pick the ball up.
  3. Indeed. We need to change our tactics when away from home, we can't keep playing these dangerous back passes when we've got an up for it home crowd putting you under pressure.
  4. A mate just text me saying he left at the second goal, wanting to get back home early. Please win this now Saints...
  5. Harding having a shocker. He gets wound up very easily so taking him off would be a good idea. Commentator says the Carlisle keeper is yet to be tested - well that's a lie. He saved from a Lallana shot earlier on. Or did he make that up?
  6. Dropping Seabourne was a mistake. No idea what his reasoning was there.
  7. Have to admit when I saw the three CM I did think that Adkins was selecting 4-5-1 because it always seems like it's the "right thing" to do when away from home. Carlisle focus on wing play, so having more bodies in the centre of the pitch doesn't really help.
  8. 2-0 Carlisle, Harding own goal.
  9. Merrington reckons one up front doesn't suit us...after we've gone 1-0 down.
  10. How on earth could you know that?
  11. Carlisle 1-0 up. Ben Marshall.
  12. Commos a right bloody fidget.
  13. Everyone around the commos are stood up apparently. Not in the terrace are they?
  14. Woohoo, Saints commentary on Saintsplayer.
  15. First half thread here; http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?26431-Saints-V-Carlisle-First-Half-Thread
  16. Everyone's at Carlisle apparently.
  17. Carlisle: Collin, Simek, Murphy, Taiwo, Zoko, Marshall, Berrett, Chester, Michalik, Grella, Madine. Subs: Caig, Hurst, Robson, Curran, Cook, Cruise, Swinglehurst. Saints: Davis, Richardson, Fonte, Jaidi, Harding, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Chaplow, Chamberlain, Lambert, Lallana. Subs: Bialkowski, Dickson, Seaborne, Puncheon, Barnard, Guly, Connolly.
  18. And Scaborne.
  19. There's a PM system for things like this - unless of course you were just attention seeking?
  20. Not being in a reserve league actually works out much better. Just arrange a friendly every 4-5 days against non-league opposition. This way you save on the fee you'd pay to be in the league and make around £1k for every reserve game. Not much in the long term, but better than nothing - more often than not you win by a good amount of goals so your players get lots of confidence and strikers get back in the scoring groove. It's already worked wonders on Barnard for me. Anyway, for my save; I made a lot of signings. Got quite a big squad but I change the team almost completely for cup games and still win them well. Play a fast tempo, short passing game with emphasis on width, and I slow the tempo down if I get a couple of goals ahead to save on fitness. I let Holmes, Wotton, Pulis and Forecast go for pennies and sold McNish for £100k. Signed; Chaplow - £110k (Rest on frees) Gai Assulin (winger) - potential to be a good Prem player and rips up league 1 defences. Yildiray Basturk (CM) - my worst signing so far, but his stats were too good to turn down. Will play a part for me as the season goes on, no doubt. Puydebois (GK) - Didn't like the look of Davis to be honest. Good keeper. Ali Fuseini (CM) - been outstanding so far! Febian Brandy (ST) - a must buy in this game, him and Lambert up top score shedloads. Ali Gharzoul (CB) - as good as Fonte and only 24, brilliant find. Gari Uranga (CM, R/LW, ST) - brilliant utility man Anderson Silva (DM) - another must buy, set him to anchor man and the "goals conceded" column doesn't change. Ever. For the rest of time. My most astute signing on any FM game so far. Salva (ST) - 35 years old, but very good technical stats and physical stats all over 10. Great back up. Credit to anyone who actually reads all that.
  21. Does it apply to a game already underway?
  22. Should we abolish prisons because it might attract criminals?
  23. Britt Eckland to win. She'll start re-enacting her dance scene from the Wicker man and everyone else will scream to be let out.
  24. Really? Imagine that extra £5million stuck onto the wage bill and all of a sudden it's a HUGE difference.
