  1. Now then. Let's think back. Oh yes wasn't there a Beckham link in one of the grand schemes on one of the legendary S4E Takeover threads? Beckham, global Academy link ups Somewhere between the Tiger Woods mini-golf in The Chapel & The Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo. Might have legs then. No, not the rumour the Monkey Chickens FFS
  2. Guys, you really have to stop trying to link Saab, EU loans, Spyker Cars to poopey. You know it upsets our resident troll
  3. The poopey owner link is to Spartak HTH Sad news, two survivors apparently
  4. QPR are planning "A swoop" for Beckham Tony Fernandez trying to prove to his fans that he is yet another star struck numpty with more money than sense rather than having an actual plan http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-07/qpr-approaches-david-beckham-about-move-daily-mail-says-soccer-roundup.html
  5. Not sure which emotional roller coaster is funnier. Watching the Indian Cricket fans last night in the ODI slogfest go from ecstacy to agony with a few swipes of Kieswetter's bat or watching a pompey fan discover that his latest billionaire owner isn't.
  6. Orrrr Oh Nickie he's so fine he's so fine he blows Warnocks' mind hey Nickie, hey Nickie note the stupid idea for the song does not imply any great admiration one way or another for our Chairman. orrr Kelvin Davies our old friend let one in at near post again (or saved a certain goal again) could have gone off to West Ham stayed behind to play with Dan. It's OK, it's just the post-op Meds, they finish tomorrow
  7. Yeah unfortunately when those advocating "free speech" get into power, strangely that is one of the first "ideals" that they forget
  8. RIP to the Welsh fan, sad story TBH I couldn't even be bothered to try and find even a score feed. We watched a DVD then channel hopping found that the cricket had finally started. Now THAT was entertainment and shows how an England Sports team CAN perform. No egos, just hard work and team ethic matched with an incredibly high confidence level (well apart from Bopara) Kraken talks about "teams expecting to win" but even after India had scored what looked like a mammoth total, the English players just came out and splatted them away - THEY clearly expected to win, not sure how many of those die hard nutters in fancy dress in the crowd expected them to though? It's also sad that future Mrs D_P had gone up to the computer room to listen to the Polish friendly against Germany. First goals they've scored against the Krauts for 31 years, he Wahooo's as they scored were almost as loud as me & Eric when we listened to the Plymouth game last season - her mobile was going nuts with the txts from all her pals watching it online. Seems THEY still manage to have some pride in their football team. Personally I think the sooner that the "Golden Generation" of Terry Cashley Lampard move on the better. Fans can relate to the way that the cricket lads have worked so hard to improve and the way they conduct themselves. Such a long way from the "Having an England Cap is good for my Marketing Value" attitude of the footballers. Cook - technique problems works hard with the coaches sorts it - has improved tremendously. John Terry - can ANYONE honestly tell me he has Improved in the past 4 years?
  9. A340's are awful in economy IF you are anywhere near 6feet tall. not the leg room simply the damned seats. Virgin Jumbo for taller people
  10. Agree with this. It is a truly basic hotel with small(ish) rooms, BUT it is just in such a great location, right opposite Penn Station right on the subway & Madison Square, has Nathans right outside the front door & a good sports bar on the side street opposite. Cheap but as they say, location location location. Stayed there twice and ridiculously on one trip bumped into a mate from Dubai right outside the front doors, neither of us knew the other was there Oh one point IF you shop in Macy's Bloomingdales (Maceys better) take your passport - you can get a refund/discount on the sales tax - have to go to a small office but worth it
  11. Noting the cash in the bank figure, has anyone asked what Mitchell's (probable) loans to the club total and how much interest he is charging on that?
  12. Ah bless. The troll typed something but that wasn't the point he was making. Nothing new there then. Corpy. You haven't answered the question. How much IS their budget for this year? At this point the empirical evidence shows up that they have 3.8mil left to spend. Unless of course PCFC is more important than their Core businesses
  13. There is one point you miss in that This was Dad's idea. mancs are not based in London. He is. His 10% Agents fee on the wages and transfer will go towards a nice pad somewhere.
  14. Remember.... As posted by D_P when he was appointed to bolster his opinion and reaction of being Whelmed (should have copyrighted that) We will lose him http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/tottenham-boss-redknapp-talks-prospects-s****horpe-manager-adkins-1106081 He will become England Manager Maybe one day
  15. OK so here is a plan. Considering some tourist has been traumatised at the sight of Fish in a Fishing Harbour, and using the UK's Ambulance Chasing legislation to the full, you have a letter from the Police and you have your trauma and now need to go to the Doc and get a week off work & some anti-panic pills then you can get an Ambulance chaser to sue the Police for you. They will of course settle out of court, and bingo, you end up with enough cash to pay for your ST next year AND the parking fees for when you go to collect it. Simples
  16. What is amusing is how the troll simply fails to read what you post before he makes up something new. This is a class example showing that 1) he is either about 14 years old or 2) actually works at PCFC. I posed a question some pages back - CSI group have an investment budget that they allocated last year to a football related project. I gave the chance for people to google to find the details but nobody bothered. Anyway their budget was 8mil, and nobody has yet found any evidence to show that this year's budget will be any different. As they are a multi-national corporation, their planning will be done on an annual basis. I then pointed out that 4.2mil had been spent, which would leave 3.8mil and I got this astonishing attack Apparently IF you have a business you should NOT budget each year "You have a budget one year and that's duplicated the next year, and the year after that, and the year after that? What a strange, tin pot little business that must be" So any business that has a budget is Tin Pot eh - the troll MUST be an employee of that astonishing thought leader in global business. Dear troll, learn English. A budget is an allocation of Funds for a specific period of time, most usually one year or one financial period. Still as he says and as history has shown if the budget is not enough "They take funds from one area of the business and use it in another where they want more focus at that time." Well THAT one is true - they take the money owed to small businesses and spunk it all on players wages. Anyway, back to my original point after that pleasantly educational self destruction. The budegt allocated to Sports Investement in UK by CSI was 8million and was spent on F1 last year, nobody could be bothered to look that up. Obviously the PCFC project means they will be raping one of their other projects. Which one would that be Corpy? Spartak Moscow Ice Hockey? Ferrari Challenge? Le Mans Series? Zalgiris Basketball? Spyker GT Race Team? or maybe they will have reduced their support for the Revival of Historic Traditions at Kremlin project in order to pay some salaries? Obviously with these being connected to their major Russian, Baltic & Czech business projects they will easily drop those and "They take funds from one area of the business and use it in another where they want more focus at that time." Oh and in other news. Anybody notice the reference to a 5 Year Plan? I wonder where that idea came from? Surely they have not indicated that "Investment in their Academy" would be a priority? After all, that would be too much of a co-incidence surely? And before anyone asks, who saw that How to Buy a Football Club programme with Bryan Robson and Thailand? Guess what his business plan called for? Fantastic isn't it, everybody has the same cunning plan to become a Champions League team.
  17. Good start is the City Tour by Bus. Think they have 2 or 3 routes in Manhatten, usual hop on hop off but it all gets explained as you go and helps orientate you. Chinatown for a lunchtime explore and food is a must. Find a place to have a slice of fresh Pizza for lunch. The Maritime Museum - old Aircraft Carrier & Sub is really good. Depending on the day you get there you can register at a theatre in Times Square to watch a live recording of the David Letterman Show - great to see the whole thing from nehind the scenes - BOOYAH! it's free, we saw Kevin Spacey when we went. Took about an hour of queuing and the show recording was a couple of days later and took about 2 hours including the whole warm up thing. Century 21 Store (was down near WTC) is a must for shopping - sort of an Outlet Department Store. Union Square - City Crabs great sea food - the mixed Oyster Plate & Alaskan King Crab - get there early get a buzzer & have some beers first, and have a Porterhouse Steak to share between at the Steak House opposite (Maxwell & Somebody) (Both the last two were finds from Sex & the City but worth it.) Oh & culture - NY Metro Museum & Guggenheim Never done, but everyone says amazing - The Helicopter Tour
  18. May be worth watching Bompey closely as well. they've had a fair share. Chairman telling fans to go support their alleged rival amongst others doesn't beat the Sheff Joker. Oh and Ken Dulieu
  19. Gyms. The only way that the Athlete's Foot Virus can survive and prosper
  20. My eldest - daughter - went to her first game - ZDS final at Wembley '92 at age 8. As well as being perched on the crush barriers on the Milton Road End. Although not a true fan she follows us and always says she is a Saints fan. Middle Son went at age 5 and was hooked and still is, arranging his Xmas holidays when flying back from working in Europe to get as many games in as he can & flew back for JPT final. Youngest (well, not so these days) - never really stood a chance, ex & father in law brainwashed him from day one (after many rows). FiL played for Scouse reserves with Roger Hunt so it wa all very intense & he is still an ST holder up there along with all the ex-inlaws, so he (youngest)'s been dragged up to Anfield a load of times. Mind you t'other son took him to the poopey game in the cup and youngest still says it was the most amazing/intense/best game he's ever been to and has said he'd like to go to SMS again if he ever gets back from the US.
  21. Think this one read better for me, not wishing to put words into your mouth or anything. Not completely unrelated to poopey here is an interesting article about Russian Football. Puts some context into Poopey's wages - 350k a week for Eto'o??? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/european-championships-2012/8740731/Russia-v-Republic-of-Ireland-vast-riches-propelling-the-unstoppable-rise-of-the-Russian-Premier-League.html
  22. Yeah right, you'd get half way through the first line and then the muppets at the back would speed up and burst straight into that thing about string, it's the only song they know.
  23. Ericofarabia has often expressed his wish to be Chief Groupie tester
  24. Communications Officer. Everything sent out by the club will be so simple for everyone to understand.
  25. Fontaine from Brizzle... He failed a medical on his ankle BUT a loan with option to buy would enable us to see if he is up to it.
