  8. Millwall attack over hit cross hoots of derision from what sounds a very big and loud crowd good early tempo from Saints 2nd corner coming long throw Guly flick on
  9. Been having Saints player problems all previous games I logged in logged out shook it all about and rebooted, In the end IF you get to the commentary page and nothing happens F5 works Ooh Corner Saints Ping Pong training ground move deflected wide from Lallana by Connolly's legs bright start
  10. Back up NOW who will get better with coaching & experience A player with high technical ability 21/13 years old. One for later in the season or next year in the PL rather than for now. Sure as hell didn't mean to go back down the Darren Kenton "Squad Player" road.
  11. Agree. We have Guly, Barnard, Forte & even Lallana & De Ridder as cover for Connolly or to give something different up front. None of them of course is a Connolly but we have COVER. What we don't have is anything close to cover for Rickie and what he brings to the team with his all round play. IMHO I still believe we should be looking for cover for him, we've been lucky he hasn't had an injury, and I don't believe for one moment that NA & NC will let luck play a part with our squad. Looking for someone to come in as cover then it is a Youngster on Loan or someone who is good enough to play that sort of role for a max of 5 or 6 games this season which fits our current "profile" of buying players who can go all the way to the PL. IF Rickie drops form or gets a long term injury then we can look again in January for a first choice every week. We have 3 QUALITY strikers on the books still and enough to help out. My money is on someone from Europe. Lambert remains first choice and they'd have to be a helluva player to bring more to the TEAM than he does at the moment
  12. Sweet
  13. Poor old Ho has now gone beyond being a sad humourless joke. It's quite clear he has spent the summer reading Trolling For Dummies. He doesn't even notice his own contradictions anymore, he just does what the book says and mirrors posts. Clearly it's a new tactic to try and bore everyone to death by ruining page after page and distracting the regular contributors. Meanwhile, Vlad isn't FAPP for one of his projects. Yeah sure the Football Authorities would have no problem letting Pol Pot run a club as long as he hadn't been convicted in the UK, but dear old Vlad's empire is built upon Banking Licences. It won't affect his train set for some time yet, certainly won't cause him any grief back in the Motherland, but there will be "Interest" now in his Baltic operations. For us the game will be about poopey & it's balance sheet. Saints & The Liebherrs have followed the Citeh example (soon to be joined by the mancs) of recording debt as equity. In Saints case, the Liebherr Equity was the 14mil to buy the club (which had been previously valued at 30 mil while in the CCC). Start of this season then that Equity investment would have been worth around 24 mil as (according to Ho) they were touted around the City (14mil plus AOC's sudden asset rise). So they could have stuck another 10 mil in and still seen them get their money back this season or next or the one after. Wonder how Vlad sees things. Equity or more loans? What would his investment be worth now or at the end of the season? You know all those highly valued assets (remind me what did the Statement of Affairs value their squad at?) And of course the value of their Infrastructure. Vlad is clearly a man who only wants to have a train set to play with, the much waited Post Acquisition Public Statement hasn't set out a Vision, hasn't set out a strategy or a Plan of Phased investments, it's just been, another **** in the directors box (or should that be hutch) with a stupid grin. Forget the Attendances, forget the Troll, the reason that this thread will have time to run and that the numbers are declining is that, putting it bluntly, the new boys in town don't appear to be selling a FUTURE for that scrap yard & it's customers. It is still all about the NOW, Plasters being applied to gaping wounds. Poopey - the club with the foresight of a Goldfish. THAT is what is depressing many skate mates I have. It's what I and others on here foresaw when we tried to put a Virtual arm round OldNick to tell him not to worry about "Them Getting Away With It". They survived, and remain stuck in the same lingering nightmare. We're laughing at them now because we lived through a similar nightmare for 4 years having lived before that in the shadow of "The City of London" where Dividends and Share Value were more important than "Customer Satisfaction". The train set will run on and on, the boys will pop in to the odd car Boot to collect a few Vintage Hornby relics to keep them interested. Oh and Ho, try reading a few more advanced tomes on the subject of Trolling. Maybe then it wouldn't be so obvious. I'm off to chat with my mate in Bompey about the weather, the airshow & how well his Saab is running
  14. Like I always say. It gets them in the end no matter HOW negative they are whhen they enter the room of doom. Yep all it needed was The Sloop John B on the Karaoke box and Eric was away and signing along. OK so the words of the chorus weren't the ones on the screen, and we did have to spend some time explaining to the fit Polski chicks what Dirty Skate Bstd meant, but hey, EoA has officially joined the Songmeister Brigade. Sooo much better than Camel ****ging
  15. Do I win? Think I've mentioned that on about 3 of these threads now
  16. Nope. Look, enough of linking players who only travel in Limos, it just wastes storage space and hence is causing climate change. We now only stop to collect players waiting at Bus Stops.
  17. NO FECKING Way
  18. What a very sad/strange life he must lead if that is the case.
  19. Posted this before, but he had already been noticed and commented on http://www.sport.co.uk/features/Football/1266/How_do_we_prepare_English_managers_to_coach_the_national_team.aspx http://www.football.co.uk/s****horpe_united/is_adkins_the_next_england_manager__rss1245395.shtml
  20. Don't care if it's free. Don't care if it's 20 quid a year. Knowing enough about IT I know Baj & Steve do their best, and knowing them both realise that it is a thankless hobby. All I want is for it to work. What I DON'T want is for this site to so time out my IE that it causes me to have to reboot because I also lost Saints Player. If we need to simply sign up into a chat room for match days until we migrate into the Cloud then could SOMEBODY who knows more about these things find us one then post the link so we don't have the same trouble on Saturday?
  21. Don't worry Eric. I have a solution to you beiing a W.A.N.K.E.R. (Wife. Away. No Kids. Eats. Rubbish) - (Standard Ex Pat summer condition here BTW) No need for you to go chasing Camels I've spent all day sorting out some Tarts for you. At our party tonight. I've made a Brocoli & Stilton. And some nice Chocolate Ones as well. Oh and the current count is 3 fit blonde single 30 something Polski chicks. It'll be up to you to turn them into Tarts though. Any other TSW members in town are invited BTW OSH & Old Thumper Chilling nicely and with them all being Polish, enough vodka to drown happily in
  22. Yes. Had it on my old laptop. The mix was Firefox, Tor and Vidalia. Worked well enough for me to watch the last (non Yankified) series of Torchwood amongst others. Downsides were 1) Had to be installed by a geek 2) Meant I needed two browsers IE for work & Firefox for TV 3) Had to be embedded into the Registry & Boot sequences, as a result EVERY time I rebooted or switched on it took forever to load (Was on XP tho) and when I wasn't on a wireless kept firing up error messages when I was trying to give Powerpoints etc. BUT it DOES work and if you have a dedicated home machine worth finding a geek The Geek has the latest version installed and watches UKTV all the time and makes the point of annoying me by calling while he watches cup footie on Beeb or ITV knowing I refuse to re-install! Another technology to check out is a Slingbox. Quite a few here have those. It fires a Sat Decoder signal down the internet so you can watch Sky directly. For that they mostly have a 2nd decoder at the UK point and pre-plan what they want to watch, I heard there are some systems you can change channel on through the web but that is WAY above me. My dodgy TV viewing these days is limited to buying 50 or 60 DVD's at a time while in Asia after a nasty infection experience from Bit Torrent
  23. Don't let them watch Fashion TV with all those size zero models? Or as we did when mine were fussy, offer it, then take it away and carry on eating. Tough love worked (in our situation) if it persists google an expert
  24. So many eloquent posts attacking Corpy. Guys if you want to upset him just type 4 letters in the right order. Works every time BAAS if you need a hint as to which ones to pick
  25. Yarp, me too, if anything to like stuff I'm trying to do contracts they're probably arguing over some obscure translation with French Lawyers... Something that is never easy
