  1. RICKIE FECKING LAMBERT you Beauty! WOO HOO
  2. Eek. Now that's a dilemna. Future Mrs D_P has invited her really fit best friend round to spend the night on her way back from a hol in Nepal. But Mrs D_P is working a late shift. What to do? - entertain the fit chick or listen to Lallana miss an early chance. No contest COYS!
  3. Seems poor old Corpy gets upset when I point out useful things, such as There is a nice thread from Turkish asking for advice from owners of Saab Motors Mate of mine in Bompey has one. But of course it pales into insignificance alongside the beauty of the McLaren F1 poopey's new owner Oh and Twentytwentyvision - you have a choice. Take it. Poopey have a long way to go yet under their new stable regime. That's Stable, as in Door Bolted after.
  4. Going way back to our PL days, I remember in a televised game (either Brum or Villa) where the tater said it had been some ridiculous number of games where when we went a goal behind we had lost - ie something daft like 2 years where we concede and had never come back to win (maybe even draw) itw as certainly the worst in the PL So a major turn-round from those days
  5. Also I think that everyone should stop flying anywhere by Boeing airplanes - they make things that drop the bombs. Oh and Airbus, they make the tankers that refuel the planes. Oh and if I recall, don't Saab make Fighter/Bombers? Oh yeah, also - they make WEAPON SYSTEMS! That's it Ho, you just have to join in the boycott. Give up the ST, go take up Morris Dancing
  6. That's amazing. How the hell did the Innernet know that the better half asked me to brush her hair last night? Wow this technicalolergy stuff is freaky. (Oh & LMFAO about having a nice TINY sports car here in Dubai with the way the locals drive. - SQUISH.) Only think you ever want to drive down here is a fecking Tank. Now maybe if they advertised some of those APC's that the MOD are trying to sell off....
  7. Dear QPR. We'll drive Puncheon up for you. Oh and as it is a loan and a fee will be due and we know you have money issues, just loan us Grokss for the season. We'll let you have him back again as we pass you on the way up. But don't bother about JP, we haven't included an SAE for him.
  8. lol well that cookie tracking stuff clearly works - NOT I'm getting an Ad for a Mazda MX-5 with all the prices in pounds. The only things about cars I ever look at on-line is car hire
  9. That man IS a legend. Should have retired two years ago when he had major health problems with his Heart. But still he came back to work. Could not wish to meet a nicer man, always comes out to see me when he knows I am coming back to SMS. Love him to death, a True Saint.
  10. This time last year we were having a bad start in League 1. We loved him for his potential. He had great moments and he had awful moments. Apart from his build he brings little in the moments category that we do not already have with Forte (who started our whole run off against MKD) Now we are looking for players with the potential to KEEP us in the PL if the backroom staff think he could do that & recommend him to NA then great but I seriously doubt it.
  11. Yes it does, it is information and a source. There are still a great many Saints fans who lurk on here and look for snippets. This is a new snippet
  12. Yeah and so they bloody well should, I spent weeks every day trawling for articles about Saints from the global press and then I go find it, post the thread and some can't be arsed to read lazy sod comes along and tries to steal all my glory & rewards...
  13. You REALLY believed (as opposed to hoped) that there was even a small chance that AOC wasn't going to leave?? Bit like expecting Fabregas to stay at Arsenil.
  14. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/15082011/58/ligue-1-maiga-demands-newcastle-move.html Confirmation that Newcastle are bidding 8 mil for a striker Euros that is for Modibo Maiga from Sochaux
  15. http://www.greenun24.co.uk/ipswich-town/town_were_quoted_6m_for_burnley_s_rodriguez_1_994170 Interesting For all their bluster about J Rod not being for sale, Ipswich reveal that they enquired and were told 6mil earlier in the summer Which makes the 5.5mil actually sound plausible
  16. But in fairness, they aren't one of the Nationals. One would expect our local "rag" to run with this sort of stuff, but as much as the title, the fact that it is a National and for a change 1) makes no stupid errors about our ownership - (in fact detailing it very well I thought) 2) has checked out (or at least googled/read on here) about our upcoming kids and even mentions them.
  17. And (for once) nice to see that he had done some research and mentioned the next generation rather than it being just another AOC story. Again, I repeat the tale of my mate from Bahrain - his kid was pushed by the local coaches to have trials for proper clubs in England. Through friends of friends of the taxi driver, he got a 2 day trail at Staplewood aged about 13. He played and impressed the then Dave Puckett, but the lad himself asked to be subbed during the final match as he simply felt out of his depth. The others were simply too good for him. He walked into "a big club oop north's" academy, stayed a season and left because - he wasn't being pushed enough.. But it IS nice to see us getting mentions again in the papers. Another piece of the "warm fuzzy feeling" we have until the first defeat of the season (whenever it is).
  18. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/paul-newman-saints-making-hay-despite-having-to-sell-the-seed-corn-2337718.html Wow never realised it was that much. And a decent even properly researched article for a change. If only we hadn't spent it all on Darren Kenton & Jermaine Wright eh?
  19. Get some Microwave Popcorn in, put some tinnies in a cooler by the chair and strap on a DVD Invasion Earth Battle Los Angeles. It has about as much artistic merit as a Poopey subs bench. It has plot holes deeper than Snotrills excuses. It's marginally better than 2012 for Yanks Surving unpredicatably But it is an old fashioned edge of the seat action movie without Sly or Bruce and a good old fashioned mind flush. You can watch sensible serious stuff tomorrow. Retreat Hell. Hu Yah. put a on the face
  20. Unlike your dear old Arsene who starts the season moaning
  21. I think what I am seeing with NA is the TEAM ethic. And that is not simply about the 11 on the pitch or the 22 in the squad, but that he understands that he cannot be an expert on everything and seems to have faith in the entire backroom staff as well. His praise for his assistants as an example, his (OK cliched) use of the we all the time. He is obviously "The Boss" but seems to delegate responsibility - to the players on the pitch and to the team around him. He has also managed to extend that team ethic to us, he's got (most of) us on the bus, but he isn't carried away, he knows and lets us know that it is all about hard work first. There are many books written about Leadership, but what I am starting to see in NA is Followership, he is not crowing about the unbeaten run, the ego stays pretty firmly parked and he seems to understand what he can and cannot "ask NC" for. Compare that to the moaning and whining that AP has been in the press with following the debacle of Newcastle's pre-season. That's two poor pre-seasons in a row now for him (although he did get the draw yesterday). I'm not going to say he is a messiah or even the best manager in the NpC, just that right now, he has been clever enough to see what needed to be done, and has gone and done it. I'll take that, I'm sure he'll make mistakkes this season and moaners will be on his back (maybe even me). But right now? Would not swap him for anyone. The Ego's have finally left our club. THAT's what I'm luvvin at the moment
  22. Well that's good news then. At least you didn't go to Hell So won't meet any skates or Rupe's
  23. Pace. Lots have gone on about "our lack of pace". But what I saw & heard last couple of games is what is encouraging me. I hark back to a Man Ure Cup game at home while we were in the PL which I saw on telly. Man Ure moved the ball around SO quickly that we were chasing shadows. We were ripped a new one but it wasn't about players with pace killing us it was simply that the speed of thought of the Manure players was so much faster than us. Now I start to see the same thing developing. We ping the ball around (oldest adage in the book - Let the ball do the work) player movement and the confidence to make the touches and layoffs (as someone else said) while facing forwards. I've read many comments about our players seeming to have picked up a half yard of pace already this season, but a lot of that comes from having the triangles ingrained. The pace of the ball around the pitch is something Branfoot tried - but failed dismally as it was hoofball. Now with us that ball fizzes around the pitch, the second pass being made before the opposition has seen where the first pass has gone to. I like that, it works damn well for Man Ure & as long as we don't become Arsenil trying to walk the ball into the net and as long as we can adapt to cold wet & windy cabbage patches from time to time, this could be the start of something good. Players comfortable on the ball, complete opposite from watching the England National Team with it's PL prima donnas.
  24. Oh great. Pilchards you plonker. Now you've done it. Well, thanks to this will now have to change my prediction league to a resounding coming back down to earth. FFS you could have waited until we'd had 25 wins in a row
