  1. This leaf blowerism is out of order. The most critical use of a leaf blower is to blow fallen leaves off of a green just before I putt. All the energy to build them, the materials mined from the earth to create them the money paid to purchase them the carbon emissions created while they are shipped from their factories in China the transport of the staff to the leaf blowing site by trained drivers the fuel used to power them that can never be recycled and of course the vast sums of money paid to the highly skilled workers who use them the even vaster salaries paid to the trainers who train the leaf blowers and then of course the Health & Safety staff who have to supervise the leaf blowers and to ensure that they do not cause injury and have to write reports that go to managers who have to make regulations that have to be passed by lawyers so that they can be passed up to the legislators to pass laws as to the use of leaf blowers which have to be enforced by the Police and the Health & Safety Officers who have to have managers who have to check that the amended regulations are applied and of course not forgetting the local council publilc relations and marketing staff who have to promote the use of them and the local newspapers who have to cut down trees to provide paper to print the efficiency ratings of one departments leaf blowers over another councils leaf blowers and to explain the ROI from leaf blowing so that the budget for leaf blowing gets approved. Meanwhile you dopey tax payers are picking up the bill for the use of a machine that simply moves a problem from one place to another whilst you cut billion pound airplanes into pieces and make the Armed Forces redundant in the middle of combat operations.
  2. Just heard the result Think that is 4 words
  3. I've spotted an outbreak of Rumsfeldism's tonight on here, no idea where they have all come from so with the big month coming up, time for an "I told you so Thread" What are the Unknown Unknowns that could affect or run ins - c'mon gang let's get all the worries into one place so they don't mess up other threads. Me Injury to Rickie Would mess up our whole style of play at the moment needing a tactical rethink at the wrong time of the season (and NO this isn't a debate about RL's effectiveness, just a what else COULD go wrong. We're Saints FFS apart from last March at Wembley we are expecting things to go wrong )
  4. Jeez what IS IT with this outbreak of Rumsfeldisms at the moment Time for a new thread methinks what are the Unknown Unknowns we face in the run in
  5. Was just going to post something similar. If ONLY (the two worst words on the planet) we had been in Udder's position. The way results go our way when we don't play we could have sat back and relaxed to the end of the season
  6. OK I know I take the p1ss with my golf stories. BUT one advantage of my working is t hat I got to know the Getty Images guys and how they work. Having read the article it prompted me to go fishing for the Getty Pictures of that day out So gang, finally some ROI for my tales and here are some GREAT pics (59 of them) of our big day out done by the professionals http://www.gettyimages.com/Search/Search.aspx?query=z.i.H4sIAAAAAAAEAOy9B2AcSZYlJi9tynt_SvVK1-B0oQiAYBMk2JBAEOzBiM3mkuwdaUcjKasqgcplVmVdZhZAzO2dvPfee--999577733ujudTif33_8_XGZkAWz2zkrayZ4hgKrIHz9-fB8_In7dfLn91etf49f4NX6PX_dskV3kvyb9-pj-_9u_rtbtPFus2mqZnldVO8nKMj0p15Nfc4Q2Nz6m0a-Z1PT2y6zOFs2vrZ_9Wvj_7g5-_c1M-98d__zG9P9f793r6-b0nYHxa3p_87vZufn119TfAe7Xzs6nFi_zB_6PPn_NHe5x0bo33e-_DjUu7Rf2L7z369If9cKCDf_89dF8F3_9evz5xMLo_M2vnYdQ7J8MZcdCOe9AcX_za3UIxf7JUPYslLoDxf1NlMnNS78m_jBTwmTaxW-_oWmLyWDaEk3ylfn01-S_DIzfBJ_sMYB80tg25g8me-6w8X7_tXLX3Pv9125WK_s5_jA9_Vb2xcupe9H9_utUtcc09i_-apL7X5m_8Pzas6ul-f3XNH_8Ovh_s_bGE_z1a-eZw8D_g35f-V_YP37dJoAW_vlrv3v23E0J_WG_yGoPN--P36iZVqv8yXo5Kz0iBp8agD8OOA927uP3X4e4aW2bB3_9OvNa_hAK4S8D4WN88hC_Ebs4AfL_-PVe5Fd50_4_AQAA__8c9xQkSwQAAA..&rid=96780206&rcat=Event&rt=GBR%3a+Southampton+v+Carlisle+United+-+Johnstone%27s+Paint+trophy+Final#1 Oh. and I will kick the krap out of Ian Walton when I see him in December, I never realised he did footie as well as golf, could have got a few proper copies off him - doh!
  7. What a disaster. This obviously will turn Bompeys terminal decline around. We are now going to have to watch our backs. This has unnecessarily brought another team back into the mix. Utterly gutted. Jeez sorry peeps, had dug out some old skiing holiday snaps early to show the GF, forgot who I was for a mo Wooo Hooo. Message to Nige check the petrol, oil & water, pump up the tyres and get that bus rammed right through Franchise FC Saturday
  8. Well found and thanks, that put a big smile back on my face with all the memories, and well done to Paul Fletcher for taking the time to write it up so well
  9. OMG you have a General Electric 1971 model reactor in there, don't touch ANYTHING - MOVE OK, sorry tasteless I apologise
  10. Much more professional Names on the shirts mate and the star of the show (that's Scudamore Btw) produces a world class quality programme with all the players bio's in it
  11. Yeah we helped out Bournemouth all those times. Look how they really appreciated that. Look the Plymouth thing is really sad, it is not the fault of their players or fans and the rules are very wrong it should be the Board who get MUCH more severe punishments, but the fact is they beat us with a team they couldn't afford at the start of the season. I truly hope they survive and the efforts by Reidy & Dave Jones & the fans get them through, but those 3 points - how much pressure would that take off our season now if they had played a squad that they could afford against us (like we TRIED to do for a season). Maybe we would have won, maybe the Sky curse still had us in it's grip. But they took 3 points off us in the same way the cheats beat us in the Cup with players they couldn't afford
  12. check your PM's
  13. You need to do Sudoko Hammy the old brain needs exercising mate
  14. And today is????
  15. Peter Storrie goes on a holiday to Israel . While he is on a tour of Jerusalem, he has a fatal heart attack. The undertaker finds a business card in his pocket and calls PCFC and tells them: "You can have him shipped home for $1 million or you can bury him here in the Holy Land for $100." Chinny & Lampitt go into a huddle and come back to the undertaker and tell him they still want Storrie flown home. The undertaker is puzzled and asks: "Why would you spend $1 million to get him home when it would be wonderful to be buried here in this religious country and you would only spend $100?" Lampitt replied: "More than 2000 years ago a man died there, was buried there, and just 3 days later he rose from the dead. We simply can't take that risk."
  16. Must admit I've missed Glasgow he always had more quality about him with his inputs than some. Think biz must have been be tough for a while, he probably had to work for a living for a while by the looks of it, clearly the GDP wasn't so bad after all and he's got more time on his hands. Welcome back GSBSOBS
  17. But seriously, yes, I noticed it last week. I mean I get to drive around every 3 months or so, but last week I went from me mum's to London for some meetings in West London then to stay with my daughter. The M3 going up was quieter than usual, no real queues between Farnboro & M25. Then I had to get from Acton up to Buckhurst Hill at 5pm which meant the North Circular, and apart from one delay in the road works it was quiet. I got across London in the same time it took my daughter to get from Liverpool Street to Buckhurst on the tube. My memories of that run were of jam after jam after jam
  18. Arrgh it gets worse http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1165037/Pans-People-star-Dee-Dee-Wilde-comes-retirement-teach-50s-disco-dance.html
  19. I notice you are about to get re-runs of full editions of TOTP on BBC 4 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/8415563/Top-of-the-Pops-returns-to-BBC-in-original-time-slot.html OK so you can argue they are filling space with more repeats or who wants to watch has beens miming all over again, but I'm sure some of those shows now contain some classic moments.. But I was horrified to realise that Pan's People were put out to grass in 1976... Jeez all those teenage years..... And it suddenly horrified me to think (yikes like Diana Rigg who is now 63) they will all be OLD Arrgh so are so many of us... Anyway for the oldies
  20. Strangely completely unrelated, the roads over here were also empty today. However methinks that was due to the fact that around 60% of our population is from West Asia and they all appear to have developed flu at the same time today
