  1. So flying and new season of movies, some I watched over the holidays Red 2 - daft good fun for a few beers and a night in. Expendables 2 - again what a rubbish movie but with a few beers we laughed at all the Arnie Jokes. Last Stand - yep same again. Sensing an old fart trend in the movies these days! Gravity - second watch still as good and tense as the first, Damn I wish I had seen it in 3D On "Sky Plus" last night - World's Apart - Cirque du Soleil. I HATE this type of arty farty krap. Bad haircut elf wannabe chick walks into a Circus, sees a bloke, gets given a poster by a clown of the Aerialist, watches show, Trapeze guy falls off. End of "Story" after about 5 minutes. It then becomes a vehicle for the two to try and "find each other while walking "through" all the different CdS shows around the world.......... And it is awesome. Not so much a film more of a 90 minute long advert for the shows and jeez it was good stuff. It had a WTF comment from us about every 10 minutes. The Contortionist chicks "Spider" brought out the "eff me backwards" gag and (shame) I actually thought to myself that the Bear & Tokes would enjoy the movie just for that one clip. The fight scene on the "Wall" was oustanding. We DID ask ourselves halfway through what the fark do they smoke to come up with that stuff. Think that was answered pretty well with a whole Sergeant Pepper/Lucy in the Sky set in the middle. A REAL surprise and worth a watch even for us Sci-Fi or die types. (I'm off to therapy tomorrow because for a Circus & Ballet hater I thought the final scene/set was just stunning.) Stick it on the box for the misses, grab a beer and cope with the first 5 minutes of weird sh1t attempts at actual acting and strangely I think you'll be looking to see whether CdS might be coming to town. A truly worrying 8/10
  2. So does this mean Nigel Calder was right all those years ago? https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/nigel-calder-6/the-weather-machine-2/
  3. Down side is I can't even have a bloody beer for another 8 days grrrrrrr.
  4. Mrs D_P had watched Polish International games, her Dad coached a "Village Team" near Krakow. We started dating when we were in the Championship in the Burley years. She is now a devout Saints fan and a member of both the Dubai Saints & Polski Saints FB groups. The Polski crew are REALLY active and they are a BIG group. She has worked on her family (brothers & Dad) and in the last two years they have started to follow us watch our games and have reached the point where they actually know not only all our players names but their attributes & I have some real good discussions about whether Morgan should play for England etc. Oh, and (to annoy Turkish) she has taught them the Adam Lallana song. The family aren't yet "going to SMS" level fans but a few more years should do it. We have also attracted a decent number of floating fans to our games now at Barasti. A year ago, fans of other teams (waiting for their matches to start on TV) would ignore us. Now they pull up chairs and watch the games with us, know all about us and "like" the way we play football. It is a long way from the "Look of Pity" we used to get.
  5. Always with the negative waves Moriarity.... Cost? No problem. There's a nice line in Chinese Fake Airblades available these days. I'm sure one of our #GLOBALSFC team can find a supplier & give NC an offer he cannot refuse This one in Vietnam worked perfectly.
  6. Teaching Europe's Ryder Cup players how to whip the Yanks in September and watching Saints Occassionally these days on AJS in the same bar as St Mikie and many others from here. Great work you are doing aussiesant, keep it up. And yes we can arrange for you to meet supasaint when next on an EK stopover down your way . Just send beer.
  7. Nope count me in as well. We had very similar posts from experts last season about JRod.
  8. Gaurin is wanted by Chelsea for 12,5mil they are offering Demba Ba as a makeweight. Inter want Osvaldo one way or another and so are said to be offering a Chelsea target to us hoping to tempt us. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2536791/Fredy-Guarin-used-makeweight-Inter-Milan-sign-Pablo-Osvaldo-Southampton.html Despite our learned friend being an expert on such matters, it would be insane to swap Osvaldo at this stage of the season and try and get ANOTHER foreign player to adapt to the PL inside a week. It is not just the pace of play, the different Refereeing standards, it is also our style of play. This kind of deal still leaves us in need of an experienced striker. JRod took a long time last season before our resident experts started to grudgingly admit he may have some talent at this level. These kinds of deals are more likely to be done in the summer IF Dani doesn't make the step up. IMHO
  9. Who knows, it could be the 12th soon
  10. Well, clearly as we have seen by the last few pages and the sudden awareness of the need for raising cash (Sprinklers & Pledges) the shareholder group have no clue about Accounting
  11. Pepe Mel will only watch the game from the stands. OK so anyone got any stats on New Manager syndrome against us when the new manager isn't managing yet?
  12. Fark me is it Easter already? Jeez must have overslept, thought it was NYE when I went to bed last night
  13. Could watch this all day The Art of Defending by Mr R Johnson of East London
  14. Well Spudders, I've coped with both your problems. I had the chance of a job in Dubai in '93. It was a single contract no family but was for 18 months. I took it. No internet to speak of in those days and phone costs were extortionate. Still, I did it and worked at it and saw the family every 6 months. Eventually they moved here and stayed for 12 years before I finally had the courage to get Divorced (after the kids had grown up) Yes it was tough BUT it ensured the whole family had a safe and secure grounding and did as many wild and funky things as I do. (Kids were 18 when we split), one of them is still here.... You simply need to do SOMETHING, join an expat club, take up skiing for the next 3 months, something to give you a focus and get away from the One Show Chick. Walk out of a job? Yes I did, although not the same way you talk about. I hung around like a bad smell and raped them for everything they hadn't done in the past and all the promises they made. Much the better way mate, sets you up nicely & gives you time to find something better
  15. OR Finally the muppets down there have woken up to the fact that they are now having to run a BUSINESS, not play a Computer game. A Feelgood factor is no way to run a business, especially when your startng Business Plan was so clearly full of holes.. They have clearly found time to lay off the Champagne long enough to wake up and smell the
  16. I am shocked and amazed
  17. Glasgow will be happy, something has to change he said
  18. I've not been on here that much over the Holiday - but didn't the "owners" of pcfc just do EXACTLY this? Pumped in Money? So they cannot afford essential maintenance because their own Biz Plan forgot to allow for it due to Player Wages & OpEx costs? HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT YOU MORONS?
  19. Yeah, players that run around a lot and lose the ball are going to be REALLY useful playing in 35C heat and humidity up in the Amazon jungle. So no doubt Woy will pick 4 or 5 of them. JRod is cover for Wellbeck/Sturridge. I'd bet a pint of 6X he will get another chance in a friendly before the squad is announced as both the other two keep picking up injuries. Lallana will go and I still reckon Lambert will as well providing he is 100% fit, he has a lot more about his game than Carroll that is for sure.
  20. It's pretty clear the the Fail seems to be our favourite paper at the moment. There tends to be a positive story about us every day. Add this to the one about our complaint to the Referees' association and both articles have much more detail than any other reports that have been posted as links. Of course, because it's the Fail, most on here will ignore it or refuse to read it out of principle.
  21. That FA Statement was a nice find VW. Love that lawyer speak, and no wonder that Saints are pursuing it further. They have clearly said Clatterturd was wrong but they have nothing in their own rules which they can use to do something about it and so bugger off Saints. Pretty sure if I was using Legal Counsel in a situation like this is that I would now target that the rules need to be changed. Rumble On this one will.
  22. woosh Just yet another thread stating the bleeding obvious, no decent keeper will come to us while we have Boruc unless we can find better. If we find better Boruc will leave. Only other option is a loan, but as we are already a week into the window and week nearer Boruc coming back that looks incredibly unlikely Once Boruc is back and fit we can pick up a Cudicini or this season's version of him in the Summer. It's the same thread that has been running since November in a different guise. The Sky is falling something must be done, and this one is that KD is not up to the PL. No sh1t, we knew that LAST season. Let's all burn our ST's as the club have clearly failed and are incapable of seeing the bleeding obvious
  23. Interesting thread. It was certainly news to me that he had issues at his Near Post. Hopefully the coaching staff will be able to work on that this week and make an improvement.
  24. WHU have made a MASSIVE statement of intent at the start of this transfer window. They've brought in a Wolves player on loan.............
