How long until POL start a scum meltdown or scum takeover saga thread? How many pages will they reach? WTFILNNU (Not Us) may be a bit hard to stomach
-
Is it time to put the Chardonnay in the Fridge yet? Have Apple created a proper Yacht watch APP for Trousers? Should we tone down the WTFILN song for a bit? So many worries with news like this
-
I was there for that, in The Chapel. He hit it, we knew it was in the net we STILL ducked. Good luck to him. Thought he could make it, but possibly like others before him lost something with the injury, I guess we will never know

Seeing as it is an automatic 4 year jail term for possession of ANY narcotics here, including Codeine (and that INCLUDES it being in your bloodstream 3 weeks after smoking Weed in Amsterdam for eg) I bow to your obviously superior knowledge Let me know when you watch the film & have better info. Oh and catch Helix (new series) looks like a good Conspiracy tale
-
Like the Big Bash League, I catch it when Mrs D_P isn't watching Liked the have to play a fat old fart of last year (the old farts seem to have lost weight this year!) And the whole numpty in the stands waiting for a catch gig. It's almost worth watching the games to see the numpty drop the one ball that will come his way all season. As for the ODI's here in Dubai - bloody impossible to get a taxi or get a Housemaid to do anything when the games are on!
-
OK campers Annual HELP time again. You can choose ONE night with full corporate hospitality in a box about 80 yards from the stage FREE. Which Gig would you go to? Stone Temple Pilots The Wanted + Olly Murs Colbie Caillat + Jamie Cullum Santana All on different nights in Feb. I can go to one only and all I have to pay is the taxi fare (about 6 quid each way) and can have free booze from 6PM to Midnight

The saintbletch "Hilarious fun with words" thread

Blimey Bletch is trying to steal my long and meandering post title. FAIL. He forgot to mention Golf. -
So we have a new standard against which to judge "The greatest Atmosphere in World Sport that the bestest put on at all their Cup Finals. Last night when The Seattle Seahawks scored a touchdown against New Orleans on the road to the Superbowl, the effect of the Seattle fans reaction was actually picked up by West Coast Earthquake sensors. A "Quake" measuring approximately 2 on the Richter Scale co-incided with Marshawn Lynch scoring a touchdown. So now we have a quantifiable system for measuring just how bestest they are.................

£30 million for for Luke Shaw should we take it?
dubai_phil replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
30 mil plus Sinclair and Rodwell with their contracts paid up in full....... Still leaves us with Danny Fox. No thanks -
Quick, check our Where in the World thread. We must have some spies over there. Also wasn't Glasgow voted in charge of watching all Portugese games some months ago? I remember Tokes got the J-League and Bearsy was in charge of watching all US Female College Soccer.

No. The Project is about more than just money. -
Switched on the 1st ODI. Oh dear... Aussies cruising at the start chasing down 270. Stokes comes on, slow bouncer, Warner nicks it. Buttler claims it. Did it Carry? Half of the Aussie taters say it is out straight away. A dozen replays later they all say it is out. Warner has already walked and is standing at the boundary. 3rd Umpire says not out. OK so a tough decision but when things aren't going your way..........

An interesting point... In most PL games this season we have "tended" to try and walk the ball into the net. Against Burnley in the Cup we scored from outside the box. Yesterday we seemed to take far more shots from outside the box than usual. A deliberate change in tactics or a result of massed defence by WBA? (Especially the attempt to set up Cork (of all people) from 30 yards out from a corner). Most unlike us. Will be interesting to see if we do the same against Sunderland -
I posted in the Everton Thread & Reaction that he showed a different side to his game up there and that he now appeared to be a work in progress. And good on him. If we only wanted players to run around and not give the ball away as fans we would NEVER have tolerated a young MLT in our team. I look forward to the coming weeks/months. It will enjoyable to watch one particular poster (who makes up offensive names for our players and then runs to Mummy when he is called Thrush) eating humble pie.

That photo of Olsson's foul is a VERY different view from the one that Webb had (which was seen on TV) In Webb's view, Olsson appeared to step across AFTER the ball had gone and block Adam. At that point and from the view he had there was no way he would give a straight Red for a professional foul when the ball was still in our half. TV taters were happy it was a yellow and TBH so was I watching it. THEN the TV showed the reverse angle - "Oh" was the comment, "that should have been a straight Red"..... I don't blame Webb at all he was behind Adam as we were breaking quickly and that raised studs boot was hidden by AL's body position. I am pretty sure that the only person who could have given that as a Red would have been a Lino but it was a LONG way away from them even IF they were in a position to see. Of course 60% of SMS had a better view.... they were behind Olsson and could see it! The foul by Shaw at the end was bullkrap, shoulder to shoulder no shirt tugging player falls over like Oscar or Suarez. Cannot defend that mistake neither did TV

Just a FWIW, the NBC stream I was watching replayed the Lovren foul a number of times. It WAS a Yellow card he WAS late. In pub football it would have been a brilliantly timed tackle, in the EPL he was a millisecond late and caught Long after the ball had gone. Having said that, Anelka should have been booked as well and the TV guys also were convinced that IF Webb had seen the slo-mo or the foul from a different angle then Olsson would have got a straight Red for taking AL out waist high. -

Disagree with you on this CEC. The old Gaston certainly, but from the moment he came on against Everton and popped up covering at Right Back, it was clear he is starting to adapt to a team ethic. He is by no means there yet, but the point is he has ALREADY changed from the arrogant headless chicken of old. He certainly would not be my first name on a team sheet especially when we play Citeh Away, but he has shown he will become a valuable squad member and earn more starts (IMHO) Shame our Mittel Europan never actually watches a game on a stream -
New US TV show alert. Helix. The pilot looked promising. Remote Arctic Bio Research base. Some contamination. CDC called in..... Then is this some form of Zombie, Andromeda Strain. Conspiracy, The Thing? type of story with plenty of nervy moments. Still not sure what it is Sci-Fi or Conspiracy or whatever. Worth a watch if only for the vomiting in a Bio-Hazard suit moment

What a huge difference having Boruc back made. Not just for his save but his whole management of the defence in front of him, the increased level of confidence he seems to bring to them and his command of balls into the box. MOTM for me despite good shifts by others. Clyne - someone teach him how to cross this week, how many did he kick straight at the first man? Lovren - one worry I have spotted a few times now - when ushering the ball out for a throw-in he has got bundled off the ball a couple of times, cost us a goal in a previous game and put us under pressure today. Other than that still as the TV said one of the bst buys of the season, find a couple more like that in the summer and life will be rosy. 70% possession in the first half. Again the TV nailed it, we were moving the ball around but up front it was not as crisp, and we were taking one or two touches rather than moving the ball quickly. Certainly Lambert does not help there as he does tend to look up when getting the ball wide. How come we can ping the ball around almost telepathically at the back but not in the final 3rd.... Until Gaston came on. Think the confidence of the front 4 is the issue with that ball, once we move it quicker and more direct we look really dangerous. Game was weird to watch on a stream, total dominance yet totally unexciting. Take the 3 points and back to Barasti next week (at last!) to watch on proper TV with a beer! -
And THAT is the reason we had a bad spell. Welcome back Holy Goalie

And THAT is what Ramirez gives us.

Boruc is back Woo Hoo! Sweepstake on the time of his howler to have the match thread all braying for a return of KD & MP out as he hadn't recovered fully?
