  1. It wasn't his fault, which is why I said it was partly on him. He came, stopped, didn't go back fully. If he'd have stayed or committed forward the header becomes more difficult. His dithering made it a much easier finish than it needs to be. If we're playing a high line you need the keeper to be spot on. I don't recall us letting one in from that type of phase of defensive play when McCarthy was in goal. A new keeper could be worth something like 7 or 8 points a season to us, that's the situation we're in.
  2. I hope not. It's the one area we are weakest in. Forster's made some good saves but yesterday's goal is partly on him as was Wolves' second last week. Personally I think McCarthy deals with both of those but maybe wouldn't have made other saves Forster did.
  3. To be fair you can both be quite tedious. You seem to follow TWar all over the forum, whenever I'm scrolling through and see him post I think to myself "how long before Dman quotes him and mentions the 9-0?" to which the answer invariably lies on the same page.
  4. I guess he could but not sure if the ref saw it. I know someone who was in the tunnel yesterday and he told me this morning. All I know is that Romeu didn't react. It's not a spare one as such, I think he said they normally use the players lounge as a makeshift second changing room. Strange if they did refuse when all other teams have used it.
  5. Post game in the tunnel was interesting. Grealish slapped Romeu who didn't react. Other people then jumped in to diffuse it. Also the away team are meant to separate themselves over 2 dressing rooms because of covid restrictions buy Man City apparently refused and said they'd go into one and take the fine. One of their fans also got headbutted outside the front afterwards. He was gobbing off and some lad nutted him.
  6. Away fan perspective on the pitch invasions and stewarding at the end. Interesting thread if you read it all.
  7. Oh was that the one when he went down and then the ref basically told him to get up and he was fine? At the time I wasn't sure which of their players it was.
  8. Watching the highlights that was an incredible block by Laporte from Broja, and Forster definitely should have come for the cross before his goal. Stupid free kick to give away that led to it too.
  9. Yeah, fair point. Their fans were funny at the end. Was one of them down for ages or was it a steward sat on him or something? Couldn't quite tell from the other end.
  10. Was Osvaldo's goal against Man City his first for the club? If so then that has to be up there because it was absolutely sublime.
  11. Tenacious, committed, solid in the tackle. Playing the other side to KWP or Livramento with them flying forward at speed shows up his comparative lack of pace but there's not much he can do about that.
  12. Bit weird our fans were booing Laporte. He was obviously caught and it must have bloody hurt, you could tell that from his reaction.
  13. About time I requoted this piece of incredible foresight from the most knowledgeable poster on the forum.
  14. The thing is the high line defending does work because we barely concede from it. People keep saying it's terrible but until the Wolves game it had worked fine. Also it's not just us who do it, loads of teams do it including Man City who arguably have the best manager in the world.
  15. Just reading back through a bit of this thread as I walk to the car and you are right. They sang once just after half time and not again until the scored and then started going on about how our support was shit! Haha.
  16. Funny pitch invasions by a couple of randoms at the end too. Salisu told a steward to wait so he could let some nipper take a selfie with him on the pitch.
  17. 4-2-2-2 obviously doesn't work. Ralph cost us the game with his shitty formation. (Joke btw)
  18. I got excited when I saw our line up and then I saw theirs and all hope drained away.
  19. The Ride of Hampshire.
  20. Pompey losing to Sunderland in their big game.
  21. The way he's playing this season Dubravka would drop whatever he was trying to steal before getting out of the shop.
  22. They used to charge something like £10 for replacements, no idea if that's still the case. If you are anywhere near town I'd go down this morning rather than leave it until before the game as you never know what the queues will be like there.
  23. Working from home won't come to an end. No way are organisations going to just ram all their staff back into an office. I know we certainly won't and I guess as Police staff we count as civil servants. I imagine most places will move to hybrid working so it's 2 or 3 days in the office per week, which is what we have been doing for the whole pandemic in our department. This style makes financial sense in terms of estate plus working from home has led to productivity rising, sickness plummeting and morale going up.
