I'll be there. Should be good. Also the added fun that my mate is running the line.

Hopefully they get a ban too. Don't get me wrong, I quite like the odd flare but whoever chucked it is a Spurs fan so any ban is warranted.

Decent squad player. Solid but unspectacular. Just the sort of person you need around to cover injuries and suspensions while giving an option for rotating when necessary. Full back is such an important position we really don't want to be going back to playing a CB or Djenepo there. Unfortunately for Perraud there's a chance that Small will hurdle him for a first team place at some point because he seems to have the pace and dribbling ability the modern full back needs especially in the system we play.

I think what did for Doherty was jumping with his back into Forster. If he'd have jumped the way he was originally facing and gone for the ball he might have got away with it. I don't understand how someone so tall who has the advantage of being able to put his arms up tried to catch the ball the way he did. Just stick your hands up and catch it way above everyone else. It wasn't even difficult and if you want the kind of comparison people seem to enjoy on here then McCarthy would have dealt with it comfortably.

As I said earlier the league will let them do whatever they want because they want them in the top flight next season with all their money.

Did Cafu play left back much? How about this: Kyle Walker Peters, makes wingers look shite, he plays on the left, he plays on the right. Count me out of the side to side arm waving people used to do when we sang that for Lallana though.

Everton fans thinking the same as us, get the game called off so they have better players for when it's rearranged. https://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/everton-v-newcastle-united-thursday-30th-7-30pm.114073/page-17

Romeu was waiting to come on in injury time but we never made the sub before the final whistle.

If there's anything to moan at Forster about today it was him repeatedly shanking kicks out of play in the second half and conceding possession. He has a weird technique which causes the ball to slice to the right quite often. At one point he kicked one straight, we picked up the second ball and everyone cheered.

He might have to play at RB against Newcastle as Walker Peters is suspended and Livramento may still be out.

Listened to Solent on the drive home and they all said Forster was lucky. Or Foster if you listen to Merrington who still can't get his name right! Crowd were good. I noticed Northam getting a Broja chant going to the old Human League/Jose Fonte tune. Still have no real songs for the following players: Adams, both Armstrong's, KWP, Bednarek, Valery, Diallo, Forster. It's a bit shit really! Livramento has 2 songs and he's only been here 5 minutes yet some of those above have been here ages yet have nothing.

He was called back from warming up just after 60 minutes and was getting ready to come on when Adam Armstrong went down injured. For whatever reason we then decided not to bring him on at that point. He put his jacket and bib back on, went to warm up again and was brought on a bit later.

He did and he seems a good option in that formation although hard to know if he would have played today if Stephens or Lyanco were available. Clearly works though as when we had 11 they barely threatened. Was interesting to see how far out of the backline our CB's were going in the first half. Salisu was pressing Alli quite a way up the pitch and Bednarek was following Kane when he dropped off too. As ever formations are never as simple as they seem written down.

Their fans were shit as well. Only really heard them after the penalty and then for the disallowed goal which was hilarious because they wasted a flare.
-
Those pre match comments on here when the line ups came out are looking extremely silly now. Valery and Long played really well especially considering their lack of game time. Valery was out of position against Kane and Son and they barely had a sniff.

Absolutely loved that performance from us. Outplayed them with 11 and then defended superbly with a makeshift defence including one centre back. Great atmosphere in the stadium. Ralph got a well deserved massive round of applause from the fans after the game.

Wouldn't be surprised if the league allow them some leeway and give them the best chance to stay up as possible. Much better for the Premier League to have them rather than Burnley or Watford next season.

Only saw the last 20 minutes which was end to end. Reminded me of those school games when everyone is knackered near the end, there's no midfield and both teams are just launching it forwards. Good that Newcastle seem to have picked up a couple of crucial injuries, plus they have another game before they come to St Mary's to hopefully pick up some more.

Some of them used to do just that but the rise in the sheer number of 20/20 leagues around the world has meant that people would rather go play in the Bangladesh Bash or whatever and earn a fair whack rather than play 4 day cricket in the Southern Hemisphere. Same result though, they don't learn the skills needed to build innings on the pitches we play on in our winter which makes the test team worse. The Southern Hemisphere players pile over here in our summer because we are the only nation playing at that time. They learn to play in our conditions against our players so have a huge advantage. Not sure how we can redress the balance other than making people go and play state cricket in the winter but we'd have to presumably pay them more than they'll get for having a knock about in some random 20/20 league or they'll tell the ECB to do one.

No restrictions before the new year is actually a bit annoying because it means we still have to go the the sister in law's house on Wednesday.

He played it short far less than McCarthy does. Most of the time he hacks it as far up the pitch as possible. The first goal was one time he actually found a player. If you want to see a keeper who can pass then look at Caballero. Our other 2 keepers are terrible with their feet in comparison.

More data suggesting Omicron is much less dangerous than previous variants. Doesn't attack the lungs in the same way meaning less chance of people having breathing problems and therefore ending up on ventilators in ICU.

He was normal Forster. One pretty good save down to his left in the first half but other than that he barely faced a shot on target other than the goals. For the first he could maybe have tried to get something on the corner but once it was headed back across the box it was a free header from close in. Second goal was wank defending and a free shot from 6 yards. The rest was a mix of either punching or trying to punch crosses that were flung into the 6 yard box. The best bit was when he half cleared a ball and then ended up on his back in the middle of the 6 yard box flailing around like a goldfish that had escaped its tank while the ball bounced around the penalty area. Kicking was mostly launching it randomly forwards.

Excellent today. Has strength, power, decent pace and good technical ability. When he puts it all together he's a real handful. Nice to have 2 strikers with the ability to hold the ball up as you need that depth in the squad. I thought Adams did a decent job at that when he came on today too.
