I went to both games yesterday. Eastleigh did OK, let in a very early opener but piled the pressure on 2nd half and got two deserved goals. It was weird seeing that many people there. Plenty of families and hangers on who were paying little attention to the actual game. As for blokes wearing Eastleigh shirts over Saints shirts.

Spent a lot of time hanging that poor Arsenal fan from a string from what I could hear. They must have the biggest disparity between noise made by home and away support.

Stop off in Stone on the way up. Nice small town, plenty of decent pubs, no hassle. 15 minutes across country to free parking 10 minutes walk to the Britannia. No need to enter actual Stoke. Easy.

Maybe the comedian who comes closest to Hicks today is Doug Stanhope. There's plenty of his stuff online to enjoy or be offended by depending on your mindset.

I loved him. Blazed a trail through comedy, leaving most in his wake before imploding far too early. Like many kids our age we spent a lot of time on drugs quoting him in the early 90's. It became a bit of cliche, but I still find myself asking "what would Bill Hicks say about this" when more and more crap hits the fan around the world. Rant in E-minor and Arizona Bay are 2 of my favourite comedy works of all time.

By "make a difference" do you mean "be one of the best players on the pitch?" There's more to a team player than being an obvious stand out all the time.

I'm not fussed if we sign him or not to be honest. He's OK, but we can probably do a bit better in the summer. He's clearly not as bad as you make out though. If he truly was gash though he wouldn't get anywhere near our starting XI, nor the Dutch squad. It's not just Koeman who sees something in him.
