  1. Whatever Art is on, remind me to never take it.

  3. Well if the first time we played at the Emirates is anything to go by half our fans will be spending a lot of time wetting their pants about being in a big stadium and gawping at our ex players. It was only £5 more and an easier trip to get to Millwall. I didn't see such "great support" then.
  4. Not much says tinpot more than hosting a press conference in a portakabin. I suppose at least it's their portakabin. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/video-awford-pompey-press-conference-1-6300431
  5. The queues outside the family stand to get in at 1450 were the longest I've ever seen. I didn't take my 5yo to the funfair, I gave him a proper football education for his first game and took him to the pub instead.
  6. I'm quite impressed that David Gray fans have a bit of fight in them. They must have had extra tofu and quinoa before the gig.
  7. I hope all these part time away fans are going to make some noise.
  8. Last direct train is 2329 so plenty of time even with the inevitable queues to get back in the station.
  9. London Overground http://www.tfl.gov.uk/cdn/static/cms/documents/london-overground-network-map.pdf
  10. I think Derek Llambias (ex-board member at Newcastle and buddies with Ashley) owned some casinos and the rumours were that Pardew was in debt to him. According to Pardew it isn't true. How he must pine for the heady days when this interview took place and they sat 4th in the Premier League. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2049351/Alan-Pardew-Newcastle-manager-explodes-myths.html
  11. Turn right into any of the side roads halfway up Kew Road which runs alongside Kew Gardens. It's permits only in the morning so afternoon and evening are free. Kew Gardens Station is at the end of Lichfield Road. Takes about 35-40 minutes to get to Highbury & Islington, trains run every 15 minutes or so.
  12. Park on the road for free at Kew, overland train direct to Highbury & Islington.
  13. That was great, but the 3-1 Pavel Srnicek game tops it for me due to the sheer comedy value of him dropping the ball at Neil Heaney's foot and the mayhem that ensued.
  14. There are a fair few toddlers in the family stand. My 9yo has a st and has been going since he was 5. At first I found he was more entertained if we were with a group of mates. I'd also suggest going to a cup game when the ground is half full, there's a bit more room and it's not so loud. Phones are for half time only. Sweets rationed throughout the game or they'll be caned before 10 minutes has elapsed and your kid will then have a massive sugar crash on about 60 minutes.
  15. He mentioned in an article the other day that his family still live down this way and he has a ridiculous amount of travelling to do. Maybe the mutual consent bit is true.
  16. Saw her play about 5 or so years ago at a festival with her old band called Sound Of Rum. We were wandering past a small bandstand while they were on and couldn't help but stop and watch the rest of the gig. Not quite sure why they were roundly ignored by the media, but glad she is getting her dues now.
  17. We should put aside the first few rows for the bingo bus crowd who generally like to sit down anyway. It also wouldn't be too difficult to seperate the tickets out into 3 batches of top, middle and bottom and let people specify which they'd prefer.
  18. The fact that Anna Calvi and Bombay Bicycle Club get nominated over Gruff Rhys and The Wytches says all anyone needs to know about this award. Royal Blood will win, despite their album having been rushed out to the detriment of its quality by a sales hungry record label. Personally I'd give it to Twigs.
  19. Everyone I know who was involved is doing just fine. That whole thing was a complete joke, but it's old ground which doesn't need covering again.
  20. Get an IFA. We used this lot who after one phone call arranged us a base rate +0.14% mortgage. Probably the best phone call I've made if you discount the filthy ones to your mum. http://www.claissestvincent.co.uk/ltd/
  21. Having googled Dirty Piglet I stumbled across the meaning for Alaskan Pipeline. It certainly made me think of an ex work colleague, who was in a local band of the same name, in a new way.
  22. All I'd like to see is retrospective punishment for diving and nasty fouls, even if the ref did see it. What sort of decisions will be reviewed? Every throw in, and goal kick? No thanks, I'd rather not spend 2.5 hours in the ground watching a 90 minute game. The less time I have to spend with other football fans the better.
