  1. The media love it these things dragging on, the more days they can spend filingl pages and time with it the better for them.
  2. Sorry, but it's massively unlikely we are going to end up with a better team than last season after having to replace 5 key players in one transfer window.
  3. Please, someone apply for one of them. We need a proper insider, mole in the camp, ITK poster.
  4. Yep. The Suarez to Barcelona transfer is rocketing along at one hell of a pace.
  5. For board matching their ambition, read paying me more money. The crux of the matter is our better players (and their agents) know they can get double, treble the money elsewhere because we quite sensibly refuse to spunk relatively ridiculous amounts on wages.
  6. He often played centre midfield for the U18's. Personally I see him being developed into a CB who can comfortably bring the ball out of defence and use his passing range to build attacks.
  7. Thanks for the info Nextar. All sounds plausible.
  8. I wasn't aware the price of the player was being discussed, merely his ability to perform in the league.
  9. Remember when we got promoted with a 30 year old striker who had no previous Premier League experience? How did that work out?
  10. Or changing his urine soaked sheets.
  11. Cardiff were so bored watching the Germany vs France game they just decided to have a bit of a laugh to liven the afternoon up.
  12. Still 17/24 of the Pompey Match Reporter packages left which is completely baffling. You'd think the local 'females' woud be selling their false teeth to have the chance of sitting next to award winning journalist and all round man-hunk Neil Allen.
  13. I've seen him a few times. Good all round player, but never as noticeable as Shaw was in the U18's where it was achingly obvious to anyone with even a basic grasp of spotting potential that he was a class above. Obviously players develop at different rates and Shaw is a phenomenon in that respect. Maybe Targett will establish himself as a Premier League player but I'd hazard a guess that it will take him a few seasons to hit that level. Hopefully I'll be wrong and it won't take him quite that long. One thing he does have is a much better passing range and far superior crossing technique than Shaw.
  14. Or get a taxi.
  15. Any bet in the mid 90's on Fulham to win. They messed up otherwise winning accumulators 3 times in a month, twice by letting in last minute goals. Their relegation this season has almost made up for it. Gave up betting on this World Cup after putting my relatively modest winnings from a few of the opening games on Spain to beat Chile.
  16. It will be incredible for our fans who can add another verse to the Kelvin & Steven Davis song.
  17. I bet he's having one hell of a wedding party.
  18. All a bit different from the old days when pre season would start with a run round the Common and the streets of Shirley.
  19. Yes, and hopefully not at the bottom of a bottle of whisky or a bag of coke.
  20. Worthwhile new thread.
  21. Hahaha. You should see the way he signed my son's Match Attax card of him. It looks like the wonky scrawl of a drunken 2 year old.
  22. It's fairly common knowledge that Shaw isn't blessed with the greatest intellect. Ward-Prowse alluded to it in an interview with the national media not so long ago.
  23. That and maybe his agent getting him to mention Schalke in the hope that we'll bid more so he gets a bigger cut.
