Saints fans all walking down the main road outside Stamford Bridge singing "we've got Selles, Reuben Selles". That's up there with one of my favourite aways. Can tell from the celebrations afterwards how much the players love Selles. Pushing him over towards us, pointing at him, applauding him. This went on for a good couple of minutes. Team walked off to Oh When The Saints, Lavia conducting the crowd and clapping along. The whole thing was just brilliant.

So shit it's currently beating a team full of crazy expensive players while being managed by someone who's only previous game was a cup match against a League 1 side.
-
Playing some great stuff. Pre match team announcement discussion on here went well then lads.

Was referencing an initial new manager bounce, not first 25 games. Given a chance Saints could have won 15 of Nathan Jones' first 25 games if he wasn't sacked so soon.

Salisu must be injured? Good to see Stuart Armstrong back.

Man Utd appointed a more than competent manager last season and were still shit for quite a while.

Totally this. Parents telling their kids to do things on the pitch like stand in a certain place, make runs etc are probably going against what the manager has told them and will only end up in confusion. A couple of things stand out from my son's matches for Sholing. One time, around U14's they played Gosport and they had dads stood behind his goal telling him he was going to let one in soon and that Sholing were shit. Made it even more amusing when Sholing scored a last minute 25 yard free kick to win 1-0. Another one was against Southbrook where they had a dad smoking weed throughout the game while continually imploring his son to "fucking smash them" in every tackle. Often the refs at these games aren't much older than the kids so don't feel like they can speak to some random dad while they are frothing at the mouth at some perceived injustice. My youngest wants to be a ref, going to sign him up for the course soon. Not sure how enjoyable it will be for me watching him knowing what some parents can be like.

We're already singing "we never win at home and we never win away" regularly at away games but it's probably got too many lines for home fans.
-
They lost 8 of the first 10 games under Thomas Frank. At least this latest news means we won't have fans or the club writing "We Marsch On" anymore, and for that I'm grateful.

Is Tap It brewery still going? They are around the corner and used to open up before matches so people could drink in there. Not sure if they are still going or not. I'm a big fan of Olaf's Tun in Woolston. Not a brewery but they serve incredible beer.
-
I never went in there before matches because it's the wrong side of town for us but I did regularly buy from them, both in the brewery and the newer shop on Bedford Place. Very sad that they are closing, they made great beer and I can't help but think that having their products at St Mary's could have made a real difference. The club should celebrate local business and there's not much more local than a company which are merely an overhit Lyanco pass away from the stadium.

I've reffed Tyro matches when my son was younger and even at that age it's hard. I'll still have an occasional shout at the ref while watching Saints but not that often. Some people in crowds go spitting mad at the officials even when the decision seems correct to me. I agree with posts above saying that top refs need to start dishing out more cards for players swearing at them or surrounding them after a decision. This would filter down because people copy what they see.

Sounds a bit like the football team.

I made it sound more impressive because I left out the fact it was Christ's college from Cambridge rather than the whole Uni. Still pretty good though.

Surely they'll try and smuggle them in deflated and then blow them up in the ground. Imagine getting kicked out for having an inflatable haddock.

In the most important game of the night Southampton just beat Cambridge on University Challenge.

He'd love the Joiners then. Loads of gigs down there with metal bands whose logos are unreadable. Would be funny to see our manager flying around a mosh pit.
-
Fair play to him for messing up the 1v1 which would have put us 2 up and meant we would have won and led to Jones staying in his job.
-
Imagine if we now somehow beat Chelsea on Saturday, they then sack Potter and a few days later we appoint him. If anyone wants some of what I'm smoking drop me a DM.
-
He has 50 followers, it's a joke account.

Gutted. Good luck Nathan, thanks for everything you have done for the club. God willing I'm sure you'll bounce back stronger.

Was that you with the massive cardboard P45?

When I was driving home Solent played a quick clip and said the rest would be on a half time in the Bournemouth game.
